I decided to start a Fiesta run after all. I really, really dislike FFV's prologue. I've learned to just tap away absentmindedly while doing something else to get through it these days, but of all the mainline games, I find it to be the most grating.
Any case! White Mage fun. Never drawn that one before. Helpful in the long run, but damage is gonna be an annoyance for a while.
I pulled White Mage as well and life is nothing but regrets currently.
Just remember the sweet rewards you will reap. Affordable and reliable healing. Status cures and defense boosts. The best single-target damage spell in the game.
Doing a Fiesta run this year. Drew monk first. I assume I just go through the first world punching everyone to death and buying a ton of potions, correct?
I never got past the first 8 hours of FFIX. I stopped playing when I got to Cid. I guess I'm a broody sort but I'll take Squall over Zidane any day of the week. I also wonder why none of the FF9 crew made it into a Kingdom Hearts game? (Or did they? I haven't played a number of them like BbS or DDD.)

Vivi lives in Twilight Town in Kingdom Hearts II.
Sorry you are right.
Vivi is a fucking pain in the ass in the KH2 intro.
Well, Seifer and "Setzer" are kind of jokes if you know what you're doing. But Vivi's all jacked up on glitch magic and fights all hyper agressive, so I'd say Vivi is probably the one you meant.
you punch things so hard you usually don't even need to bother with the potions and can get away with healing with tents at save points.
Yeah, the usefulness of Monk dwindles as the game progresses, at least if you're not grinding, but Monk is probably the best class early on (though obviously you probably want Blue Mage or White Mage for how awesome they are at the end).

Ha. I never knew that Siren had an undead mode before now. Apparently I've always wiped her out before the switch. That was much less of a horrible grind than I anticipated!

Black Mage also makes the beginning (and end) a complete joke.

Yeah, this is my first time with White Mage too. Should be fun! I'm glad the first big area is full of undead :P
I have never played FFV before, and this is kinda making me want to.
Now's a good time, try the Fiesta! It's not a normal experience, but it's a lot of fun and you'll have basically the entire thread going through it with you now, which is cool

go fix this
Pretend I was interested in doing so. What's the best method for going about such? Internet seems to think GBA release, but I'm not sure how easy that would be to find near me.
Ugh, I'd really rather not play a jRPG on my phone; it sounds neither appealing nor fun. Also, don't want to give SE any money for phone ports when they could instead be porting to better gaming devices!
I'll see if the retro shop near me has the GBA version.

But it needs more dwarves and Qu.

Thief is the real problem.
The first continent, though? I want that shit injected into my veins.

Edit: Also, all praise the flail. Only way I managed to chip away at Garula while having everybody else serve as a healbot.
There is at least one guy doing a classic run with 4 white mages. He won't get a better weapon until midway though world 2.
My Thief/Thief/White Mage/Black Mage classic group made it to Neo-Exdeath, but they need more health.
I don't ever want to live in that world.
And a half.
Have you heard the good word of the spell Shell? Aka the best spell in the game?
This is probably going to work out pretty well for me.

As do I, I call it my left calf
Edit: The last time I tried playing FFV I got to the third crystal and just stopped playing, which is a really bad habit I have with all JRPGs
