How do y'all generally do gifting? Look at people's wishlists and pick something from there? Or just a random game? And if you aren't friends with them on Steam can you even gift? I'm asking for a friend...
Wishlists are often good, but you can also just stalk their play history, looking for themes to try and pick something else they may enjoy. I believe you have to friend them first, which does open you to reciprocation.
Ugh, I hate even having the path installed....Europa Universalis is surprisingly small in size considering the hours it took from me.
edit: What's the charity at now?
I do have to ask, why do you have the Path installed?
Cards, for a game that is barely more painful than Bad Rats. I only ran with two girls before I gave up. Still not as bad as that beach game.
edit: 3k eh? 6K and I'll create an information video in source filmmaker on how to tell your ass from a hole in the ground. Like will be public and delivered in steam thread for usage when you need to explain to someone how to tell their ass from a hole in the ground.
Is that Spintyres? Because I want that so bad. It looks amazing.
It is super slow and fun as hell. It looks like up to four people can play co-op which would be pure comedy.
There are few games that I've said "Come on motherfucker, get up there! Heaveeeeeee" more than Spintires.
Edit: and then this shit happens, whoops
What's really funny is I had no idea that every vehicle had a winch equipped for the first couple hours of play. After I figured that out, I managed to save my fully loaded log truck that was almost all the way tipped over by using the crane and winch to slowly get it up and out.
Up from surgery and all went well. My insides are "normal" by medical standards. No better way to wake up and see that I now own Daylight. Thanks @TreadLife.
Hey all, quick PSA about the Steam Sale. When the sales rollover occurs at 10:00 AM PST, look at the prices. If it looks too good to be true, buy it, because tit has been the case in previous sales where an erroneously super low price gets put up only to be corrected in about 15 minutes.
Right, and please take a breath before posting about it. We've had major sales with literal pages of thread filled with nothing but, "Arkham Asylum for only 10% off? What are they thinking?!?" "Call of Duty 4 at full price?* Suck it, Activision!" "Oh god oh god the darkness is closing in..."
Obvious exception: If a broken price favors the customer, light the beacon so we can all pile on. (Grab your copy first. )
* Actual COD4 sale price? 10% off.
Also, if you haven't been around for a major sale, the thread moves fast. Really fast.
It's not necessarily the best time for Steamgifts giveaways, the [ codes ] tag or especially in-thread contests because your posts will fly by largely unseen. Major sales favor ninja gifting, wishlist decimation and filling gift inventories.
Here's where I would suggest hitting up the Chat, since there's usually a few people in there when the prices/games change over, so you get "first word" as to what's on sale, if there's a price glitch, etc.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/252690/ this is the D&D kind of game I want to try, has anyone played it? Its stupid expensive, so I dont think its worth trying on a whim, but I'd love to hear what other people have to say about it. I've never done a tabletop rpg session, but I think it could be super interesting to get one going online.
What's the consensus on this? Presumably everyone playing would need the game right? @corriganX
It looks like some pretty good software. If I understand correctly, most of the DLC is rulepacks for the DM to use. I'm assuming everyone else just needs the base game.
However, while I am willing to gather names and take a vote on this, I would be quite interested in running a game of Paranoia. It has just the right amount of chaos to suit certain personalities in this thread, and my head is actually already circulating with ideas on how to pull it off online.
I'm currently looking at JParanoia to see how well that suits as software, if not, there are ways to use Roll20 to suit paranoia as well, I have been told. Both these options are free, but obviously, maybe not as good as Fantasy Realms.
When Tabletop Simulator downloads, I'll let you guys know how THAT goes.
Was it last year that sleeping dogs was like 34p or something due to a mistake? It's a good idea to stay logged into Steam chat as stuff like that gets brought up pretty quickly.
Last summer the thread raised $1115.36 for Child's Play thanks to CorriganX awesomeness.
We are close to triple that.
So, each person who makes a $5 or greater donation between now and us reaching $3347 will be entered into a drawing for a complete set of Steam mystery cards!
Plenty of charity drive stretch goals left. Get those donations in!

Capable of gifting people across the world at thousands of games per thread. Capable of identifying Classy individuals before they even become classy.
Once this thing launches, the world will be a better place.
If you're new here, or if you've just been living under some kind of rock, you will not know the majesty of this game. It's like Mario Kart, but Sonic. Everyone picks a character, races around a wacky track set in one of various Sega games, and is generally an asshole to everyone else along the way. There are three modes of racing - Road, Air and Water, most tracks include all three. Transitioning between the different areas sees your vehicle transform into something more appropriate - it's pretty cool.
There's all sorts of power-ups to make everyone elses day hell. There's also a pretty decent cast of Sega endorsed characters (most are related to the Sonic games, but there are a few others too). It was around this time last year that we all exploded in excitement for playing this game multiplayer. It's pretty Rad.
Q: Sonic can run really fast, why is he driving a car?
A: Because Sonic is a total BRO and understands the value of a fair race, moron.
You said something about a tournament?: Yes I did. I invite anyone and everyone from the Penny Arcade G&T forum to take part it a racing event in aid of Child's Play. Whoever wins overall will be given a Steam game of their choosing!
Tournament Structure: Straight Races in a Grand Prix style. Races are for Ten contestants, with 1st Place receiving 12 points, 2nd 10 points and so on. These points will add up over a number of races, with the winner being the individual with the most points by the end.
In the event of more than 10 individuals taking part, multiple lobbies will be formed for a qualification round, where, after a few races, the top 'X' players from each will then go on to take a place in the final 10-man lobby.
Event Times: Tuesday 24th June, starting 11pm BST/12AM CEST/ 5pm EST/ 7PM US-Eastern. This time is a mixture of trying to be the most fair for everyone as well as the fact that my internet connection will be strongest at that time (I live in a house of people who are heavily reliant on internet use, but they sleep early).
Duration: The event will last 3 hours. If we don't finish, whether due to technical difficulties or other circumstances, I will screen shot the leaderboard at that point then play will resume at the same time the next day. This is doubly so if we gain enough contestants to require a qualification round - the qualifiers will be one day, the main event will be the next.
How to Enter:PM me your interest (even if you have told me otherwise before, my memory is terrible), you will be added to the 'Potential Racer' list. Then, anytime up to an hour before the event starts, send me proof of a donation you have made to Child's Play and I will add you to the 'Confirmed Racer' list.
All entries require a donation of at least $10 to Child's play! This is for two reasons - First, this is what this event is all about. We want to raise as much as possible. Second, the required donation sits at that level to make the event actually profitable - if donations were to add up to the retail price of a game or less, then it would make more sense to just donate the money directly. But we can do better than that!
Edit: Obviously, let @Iolo and @CorriganX know that you've donated too, so they can consider it for the overall total. The easiest way to to this would probably be to PM me 'I wanna Race!' So I have an easy to track list of names, then when it comes to making the donation link the shot in this thread as normal and just @ me as well so I can see it too. I think that would be the best way?
@Iolo@CorriganX
I hope my kids never have occasion to use it (you were there far too long as babies), but this game is awesome and fits into what I'm able to give this year. I hope the kids at Memorial enjoy this game as much as I did. (Hey kids, play Green Lantern - he's awesome).
Not sure if this counts as $9.99 or $13.98, but here you go!

I know we're just hours away from the summer sale, but did you guys see this game Axiom Verge? Very Metroid-inspired. Officially announced for PS4 and PS Vita. but the developer has confirmed it'll be available on PC as well (eventually).
Axiom Verge is Sony Pub funded so while I look forward to it I figure it'll be like Guacamelee and show up 6 months after the console release so I have to keep my hype in check.

At first blush, that looks like a fancy (and expensive) version of RPTools. Which is free.
I've only used the MapTool component (for making maps of games that don't do that for you), but there are several listed on the site.
A quick google seems to confirm my impression.
That same link talks about Fantasy Grounds 2, so I'm not even sure if Steam is offering the most recent version for the price.
I wanted to drop in real quick and second this post. Spintires is so much fun, and if anyone wants to try multiplayer, hit me up on Steam.
Summer Dale is here, baby.
It was a long nap, but fear not, Summer Dale set the alarm for 10:00 AM PST.
Dig this - Whenever this thread comes to mind, Summer Dale is always reminded of the fish that got away. You wanna know why?
