Now when i chose my hotel i did triple occupancy and not double occupancy. I have 3 people going. Does that make a difference? They won't tell me 3 is too many will they?

if triple was an option, and you have 3 people, everything should be fine.

    Hey thanks friend.

Ah, that's smart! I haven't stayed at Hotel Max, but I read good things.

Do you get to the point where it shows your name logged in at the top right, but you don't have a hotel booking on the main part of the page? What I did was press Back on my browser and try again: I can't guarantee that you won't go back in the queue, but I didn't have to.

Also, it may be unrelated but if you have to create an account, try with a password that only contains letters and numbers: that seemed to be a problem for me (it kept insisting I didn't have an alphabetic character even when I had 10+, but that went away when I removed cryptic characters).

Definitely take a look through the previous hotel feedback threads, from what I recall it's a bit of a mixed bag.

Terrible. Two of my friends tried IE, Chrome, Firefox. They tried the password issue. Didn't work and they missed out on pretty much all the hotels for what they need. I was a bit luckier, but still, they had been trying for hotels about 10 minutes after tickets went up.

I really like it. The walk to the convention centre is only about 7 minutes and the breakfast buffet is good...on the weekends they have a make-your-own waffle station

Check back periodically, hotel bookings come back up from time to time. Usually I'm nowhere near as on the ball as today (pure coincidence, I went on the PA site to read today's strip and browse the merch store), and I've been able to get hotel bookings through onPeak days or weeks after the passes go on sale.

Based on what I've seen, single bed is available in higher quantities than double bed: you can probably get a rollaway (or worst case scenario, someone takes the floor) in a pinch.

Oh nice! I've done the breakfast buffet at the Sheridan across the street from the convention centre before which is good too, but I imagine pricier. Note: if you really like smoked salmon and take more than a few pieces as I did, they aren't super happy about it. :o

I really wanted to stay at the Roosevelt again, but they only had rooms available Fri-Sun, so I went with the Hyatt. That street corner is probably my favorite location overall.

I stayed at SpringHill last year, and it was a nice place. I had a 2 Bed w/ sofa bed, fridge, "mini bar" type area with a sink and the room was decently sized. As mentioned previously, the breakfast buffet is free and pretty good. The walk is very short, and the paramount theater is on your way to the convention center. Food note, there was a nice Pho place nearby, as well as a subway and some other restaraunts.

I'm not savvy to this: Does OnPeak allow for reservation transfers? We booked a couple of rooms (one at the Sheraton - Starwoods rewards, and one at the Olive 8 - Hyatt Gold Passport programme) for some people who were coming in to visit because we weren't certain they'd score rooms on their own, and they did. So I've got reservations at both of these places, checking in Thursday and checking out Monday, that we don't need. I'd rather transfer them to somebody in need I know is cool (I don't want anything in exchange, am willing to just get on a conference call w/ OnPeak and change the reservation details) than toss them back into the pool for the wolves, but will do so if transfers aren't possible.

Nice, I originally had the hyatt booked but found out it was one bed.. then called and was told springhill was my only option for 2 beds.. so i made the switch.

I /think/ that's possible if you get the appropriate parties on the phone. I've definitely heard of that occurring in the past.

I have a question for anyone that's stayed at Homewood before:

I booked a double occupancy room, but there wasn't much information on the actual rooms themselves (or there was, but I was in too much of a hurry to get the booking), so I'm wondering what should I expect room wise? I looked at their website and it looks like there is a Studio w/ Queen, and then Bedroom with Queens or King. I only ask because I'm probably going to roomshare, and want as much info to give as possible. Thanks!

    Edit: That was fast.

Alright cool. Well, if anybody wants a room at either the Sheraton or the Olive 8, reach out to me. I'll have you call me, then you conference call in OnPeak, I'll give them the information I need to in order to transfer to you (reservation number etc.) and then drop off so you can give them your relevant details (name, address, cc#, etc.). Again, I don't want anything in return, and if your moral compass points so far due North that you can't accept that, just make a donation to Food Lifeline on your own at some point and you can call yourself square with me.

    OnPeak let me down hard.

Got the hotel I wanted, got the room I wanted, all the dates picked. Entered my credit card information. Fail... Refresh, enter info. Fail... Repeat. Fail...

Back to hotels, sorry that room is now gone. Oh, the 4 other hotels you wanted as back ups? Now gone gone gone gone. Sorry, you are stuck with the shit left on the bottom of our shoes.

We got a room at the Westin. That worked out really well for us last year.

How did you find the daily trips to and from the convention centre? I was in the Sheraton last year, super convenient of course, but at the Westin this year.

A friend of mine stayed at The Westin two years ago and the walk wasn't a huge deal. I even traveled over from The Sheraton to have breakfast at his hotel. His room came with a nice table and couch, so we all ended up playing Munchkin at his room. He was completely in love with that room. Will Call for PAX Dev is also at The Westin, so you might even see some developers during your stay. I know I spotted Notch in the lobby that year.

The Westin isn't bad at all - a half block to Olive, then one block to Pine, and then 4 blocks up Pine to the Paramount (PAX Main Theater), all mostly flat. Then 1 block over from there to Pike for the main convention center. And the Westin is right at Westlake Center mall, which has a good cheap international food court far enough from PAX to not get the PAX crowds.

Also, if you're flying in, Westlake Center is the end of the train from the airport, so you don't have to haul your luggage very far.

I was a little surprised to see a queue for hotel rooms this year, but it worked flawlessly for me so it wasn't a huge deal. I nabbed a room for me and my friends at the Westin, but I'll be checking every once in a while to see if any rooms in the Sheraton free up.

Did anyone actually reserve a room for the homewood this year via onpeak? When I got into the selection page, it was no where to be seen.

Wow, stuff sold out really fast . . . Is there even anything left?? Only a few hotels were left when I strolled in to take a look. I managed to get Thursday through Monday at the Fairmont Olympic. Anybody stayed there? It looks crazy fancy! I wasn't really looking to get that kind of place but stuff filled up so fast that I didn't have a lot of choices. That and a 5 star hotel for $220 a night is a pretty good deal! I feel a little silly staying somewhere so fancy but it should be fun.

Anyone book two rooms on one account? I booked a stay at the westin and the olive 8 and only the olive 8 reservation is showing up. Also received a duplicate of the olive 8 reservation when I booked the westin room.

Ok. I'm just wondering what the PAX rate this year, and if it's worth trying to call them up to see if they will match the rate for my pre-existing reservation. :P

Got the Red Lion again this year. Friend in my group had the Grand Hyatt, but the system borked and no rooms were left after he reloaded. The rooms weren't bad last year, but service was kinda meh. Hopefully it'll be better this year.

Husband and I stayed there one year and liked it pretty well! It was a bit further away than we really wanted, but I know it's still quite close in the scheme of things. Easily the best part of the stay there was when we had valet bring our car around at checkout, they'd left delicious chocolate chip cookies and cold milk in the car for the drive home. :)

    Call up onpeak.

From my experience, I tend to have better luck with e-mailing onPeak rather than calling (my guess is they have a bit more time to figure it out/ask around internally before getting back to you).

Getting the Westin stay if it isn't already on your account might be a bit tricky if it's sold out through the system now, but cancelling a duplicate Olive 8 reservation can actually be done yourself through the onPeak portal (especially since we're waaaay before they pass the group allocations to each individual hotel).

Red Lion again, 1 block from the awesome food mall and 2 blocks from the center.

As an East veteran, you guys don't know how good you have it with hotels, if you don't get in one of 3 hotels, you have to take a bus/taxi daily.
