I really wanted to play Remnant but I shoes away from it when I heard it was damn hard solo.
I love the souls games but I’m o my mediocre at them, and there were plenty of times where I’d happily summon for a boss giving me trouble. At least a few people told me Remnant is even harder, and it’s more difficult to find people to help with the tough spots.

It's super easy to team up with randos. It's been polished a lot since release.
Solo it's a survival horror game, coop it's borderlands with a soulslike difficulty but much more forgiving though it throws more guys at you.
It's an interesting tool, just be aware that all these really awesome-looking shots are almost always stillframe static scenes with a bunch of extra filters and camera effects added to them. People do some fantastic still work, but ultimately a lot of that is what any 3D rendering program could do anyway (albeit with a steeper learning curve and a whole lot better-looking). It's definitely easier to learn Dreams, but there's still a learning curve.
It's an awesome educational device in terms of helping you learn the bits and pieces that go into making parts of a game, but I have yet to see somebody make a truly worthwhile game with the engine. That's not to say it isn't capable, it's just an extremely clunky tool for actually producing a game. The best stuff I've seen is basically just knockoffs of already-existing games, with the vaaaaast majority of games being really really simple ball racing games and the like.
Dreams is neat for learning a shitload of stuff and, if you put in the time, can be used to make some pretty cool sculptures surprisingly intuitively and quickly, just be aware it's much more "tool" than "game". It's a tool you can handily spend dozens and dozens of hours on, though, just enjoying the experience of learning or solving things.

I don’t intend to own it or anything, I just think it looks really impressive. Also I’m a lot more curious about the asset generation than the game design part. I’m not an artist or anything but I hear it’s very robust. If the screenshots are any indication, I’m just amazed that this tool exists on a console.

It's definitely designed to be approachable. Like I said, there is a learning curve to the modelling, but you can build some great stuff in a couple hours. With a couple hours of effort, I built an epic-scale version of Ganon's Tower from Link to the Past hundreds of relative feet high, complete with the rainbow shimmer and the the grim, fire-lit clouds of Death Mountain overhead. Even had it set up as a light source, so it cast the rainbow light on everything around it.
And the modeling was maybe half that time. The rest was just trying to link up the chip tools to the model so that the lighting would modulate properly.

So I very recently built myself a new PC, which is, shall we say, capable *chef kiss*
The very first thing I did was to run Total War: Three Kingdoms, all settings to Ultra, Unit size to Extreme. I ran a battle with the maximum number of units possible on the battlefield and it ran like a dream. I also spent, like, 2 hours in the replay watching anything I might have missed while playing and taking screenshots. While I don't think they capture the full essence of the battlefield, a bunch of them still came out looking quite good in my opinion.
So behold, a battle between the Kingdom of Wei & the Kingdom of Shu-Han, expressed in screenshot form (spoilers for lots of screenshots):

big throwback to my Skyrim character. nothing fancy, I Just themed him to look sharp as hell. the vial bandolier is a mod and probably a lot of other mods, too.
I've been playing a bit of Cloudpunk and it looks pretty good. Well, maybe it looks better in motion? Something looks off with the screenshots. They're all clicky to the 4k version if you're interested:
I just finished Paradise Killer: It completely rules and here's about 200 images of visuals and dialogue lines I adore. Mild Location and Dialogue spoilers, mostly relating to the background lore and dumb jokes. There shouldn't be any plot spoilers but the last 10 or so shots are post-game if you want to avoid those

Suprisingly not! Friendly fire is very much reduced when you're wearing any armor.

Mechanically it's a lot like FTL for navigation, but with combat and quests like Infinite Space back in the DS.
Also a really nice art style brings things together.
(Not mine, other users who are far more talented than me with the tools)
