Between loads of laundry and making dinner for my son I managed to log in and create my rock dude (ArturoSlate) and do a couple of quests. Awesome graphics and fun to play but I'm rethinking my choice as an explorer since I'm not digging the whole running and jumping thing and I heard that there are jumping puzzles as part of some quests.
I may just start a new character since I haven't gone far in the game.
I'm the type of player that has to try and climb/jump on EVERYTHING as if I'm playing some type of meta-game against the world designers that decrees that me escaping the world boundaries or getting on top of the highest thing constitutes some type of victory over them.
That said, I really didn't dig explorer and after trying all 4 paths ending up going Settler since I like the buffs and being able to summon vendors/mail/crafting tables.
Scientist is also cool since you can get a lot of cool mini-buffs from scanning and being able to summon a full raid group is useful. (and potentially hilarious for a creative Stalker on an open PvP server)

I go to select ream and it shows me a list that just consists of Stormtalon, saying I have five characters (I'm aware of that bug mentioned earlier where our beta characters are deleted but still show up in number of characters on server).
So does that mean Stormtalon was Nexus?
And where are all the other realms? Sort of bizarre. Anyway, gonna wait in the queue for a bit and see if I can make my character before going to bed.

Also these queue lengths don't seem unreasonable. Yes, the time displayed is unreasonable, but the time displayed it simply not correct. In the time it took me to make my last post and this post my queue position went down by like 100 people (now 900 waiting). It says an hour and a half but simple math tells me it's nowhere even vaguely near that long.

At the top of the server list there's a couple tabs, one (which is the one you were likely looking at) is for servers that you have characters on. There's an all servers tab too, likely they were just hiding behind it.
The queue timer is wrong by a lot since what it's measuring is nowhere what's actually happening. I can't say for sure, but based on the fact that it was a lot more accurate at 100 or less people than it was at the 2000+ mark, I think what it measures is the number of people leaving/entering the server every minute then divides that by the number of people in the queue, and pops out an answer. What it doesn't take into account is people will leave queue for various reasons, and my theory is that the 2000th person in queue is way more likely to say screw it than say the 50th person in queue.
If there was a option to turn the main menu music off while you're in queue, and instead make a loud noise/beep notification when you're through the queue.

Right click the sound icon in your system tray. Select Volume Mixer. Find Wildstar among the things, and mute it. Netflix as usual.
Managed to get back in and made a new rock dude (RaphaelQuartz). This time I went with engineer/settler. Did the first couple of quests and now I'm chillin in the bar getting hammered. Taking a week off from work so I'll have plenty of time to play until my eyes bleed.

Also... I am disappointed in you Exiles... for all your guild firefly references, NONE of you have taken your highway man outfit and dyed it brown and tan. FOR FUCKING SHAME.
was a fun first day. made all 6 toons, got my typical names for the most part (not a big deal but nice) and got all of them off the ship, a couple to 7-8 and one to 10.

The rocket is 75% cheaper than the other houses, and while that may not be much (you save 75s), it's somewhat a big deal at that level.
Oh, and the level 15 adventures got nuked from orbit. I got like 600 renown and maybe half a level from Hycrest. Not terrible, but a far far cry from the days of getting like 5,000+ renown and nearly two levels in beta.
Yeah, just got done with a run and can confirm. Solo-queue, I got like ~500 Renown and 45-50% of a level. Not worth it if you're queuing as DPS. Decent if you have instant queue(healer+tank) but otherwise meh.

Hit level 16 by the end of today and yea, adventurers aren't a renown factory as much as they used to be. Oh well.
Did have a very annoying bug where I joined up for Hycrest Insurrection as a tank and...was not able to stealth throughout the entire adventure (it worked fine both prior and after). I would press the button, and nothing. I would click the button, nada. Remapping and reloadui also didn't work. Seemed to be adventure-specific?
We lost out on a fairly easy gold medal too because of it, since my group was rather competent until the end, but I didn't have my 15% damage reduction cooldown

Riot in the void is having similar issues where picking the option to disable the weapons ends up not working and inmates get their hands on weapons anyway. It was incredibly annoying.
In any case, Hit 17 and the guild unlocked a bank tab and got 5000 quests completed. We are utterly maniacs.

Speaking of the bank, I'm mostly tossing in AMPs I find, but what about dropped schematics? Should we be tossing those in? Not cook books, as they seem pretty common, but I just found a weaponsmith schematic a few mins ago and don't really know how hard they are to come by.

Level 19. Time to fall over and sleep.
Liking the spaceship house. It is very spacious. I haven't done much with it yet.
Made it to 14, got my house set up and camped for that good ole bonus rested XP.
So far the game is quite fun. Medic is still op. I'm on Pago Exile if anyone else ended up there, had some RL fiends decide to play at the last minute so I followed one of their former WoW guilds over. If anyone else is on Pago Exile, friend Biez and we will group up!
Decided to get my queue started before I grabbed breakfast, so I could start the countdown. Got into the game instantly. So, so torn between taking the opportunity to play and eating...
I'm a little late to the party here. I wasn't planning on getting this, but a friend convinced me otherwise.
I went with Exiled Human / Esper / Explorer. Was Explorer a good choice? I literally don't know anything at all about path, and that choice was extremely random. I'm only like 20 minutes into the tutorial so if there's a better path, I will gladly restart.
