Also holy crap the last few pages of this thread. I think people need to calm down and wait longer then a week before proclaiming this game to be too hard/too laggy/dead in 6 months OR declaring it the hardcore second coming that can do no wrong. I mean really.

I'm still struggling with the AMP system a bit. I get that when I receive AMP points, they go into the little confusing amp tree, like talent points basically. What does it mean though, when I find an "AMP". Like, I think I found one off of a mob that was a level 14 medic AMP. It did something (don't remember what), reading like it gave a new ability or something. I've seen people reference buying AMPs from vendors, but I don't understand why. Is it like buying a new ability you wouldn't have had otherwise by leveling up? Thanks!

Those AMPs you buy unlock the special nodes that do what they say...which you still have to spend points on. You can't spend points on the ones you unlock that way until you've unlocked them with the AMP item and by unlocking the tier with earlier points.
Some of the amps are locked until you find a physical item to correspond to that amp, at which point it unlocks and you can spend amp points to use it like a talent. If you notice on your amp screen, there are black, grey, and red dots. The black ones are ones you can currently spend amp points on to use, grey are ones that are unlocked but you can't spend points on them (like if they were on the next tier up or something) and red ones you still need to find the amp item to unlock.
All it takes is one patient person willing to just take five minutes to tell people "okay this is how you don't fuck this up" and runs go smooth. It's what I've been doing with the runs I put together. With total wildstar newbies and it certainly didn't take 4 hours to get through. Patience has been bred out of most mmo players so...welp.
We did a KV run with just 3 members and it took an hour max once we figured out the other warrior wasn't interrupting, or doing much damage (he was a pug). After the first boss took 4 wipes and almost a 5th if I hadn't solo'd the last 40k. The rest of the run was really smooth even with the last boss bugging out.

Ah ok. That makes a bit more sense. I couldn't understand what the red dots meant. Thanks!

I mean the part where it didn't nail you to the floor for a good while before it let you dodge.
What you are referring to is cc breaking a knock down. That brief time you cannot roll is to ensure the knockdown serves some purpose before broken.
Well, that's not very HARDCORE of them. I actually end up wasting more time because I try to dodge before I even hit the ground, and then I waste time reacting to that not actually breaking anything.

Odd logic, the games design wont change in that time. And that's what people have issue with.
Wildstar is good, it just needs a year or so of bugfixing and balance/design iterations to be great.

What core said is that players do not yet understand this games mechanics. Given time things naturally get easier.they always do.
But it seems a few people cannot focus on anything but the now. This is normal though, it's why mmos always have the drop off. No matter how good
There needs to be a clear animation for the period before you can dodge to break the knockdown. Right now you end up burning both dodges because it feels unresponsive.
So I ordered a treadmill. I got a standing desk for free on craigslist. Goal is to start an alt and then stream myself levelling the alt from 1-50 while treadmillin'. Maybe put up fitbit step/weight metrics too to follow. Should be motivating for exercise as well as an excuse to play more WIldstar. I just need a swivel mount for a monitor so I can occasionally sit down if I still want to do that.

I also feel that a lot of times when I dodge in combat, I hit a direction twice and keep it pressed to keep running in that direction to dodge telegraphs, but I don't actually keep running and just stand there.
Is something broken or have there really been 1000 new posts.
I'm trying to get the gist of things here without spending 2 hours reading. Is carbine dumbing down the dungeons? Or at least talking about it?
Not as of yet, and they shouldn't unless a month or two has passed and veterans are still having the same issues, reread the last 2-3 pages for discussion on that. Did you click the OP? That can reset how many "new posts" the forums will show you.

Better yet, have it not waste dodge tokens if try to dodge but your character can't(as in the case of knockdowns).

Well I'm talking in terms of my own continuing desire to try and understand how the game looks/works now that we are at launch and how end game will work; I don't want to be told what it is or how it will work but see it. And I am taking my time leveling.
The game design won't change in that time, your right. I am still forming my opinion of it (beta experiences and changes aside). If people have already formed their opinions on it faster then me that's fine. If you don't like it now then you probably won't like it going forward. Also fine. I just don't see how people can be surprised by some of this stuff from beta experience or how the game works fundamentally in terms of combat.
I ran Stormtalon Lair last night with some friends. We used voice chat and they all knew what they were doing. Since it was my first time there and I was dpsing rather than tanking like I normally do, I focused pretty much all my effort on dodging telegraphs and landing interupts.
This was my general experience, and the only reason I didn't die more often is the healer was incredible.
My ping (via nexusbar) is normally in the 225 to 300 range. My feeling is unless I can learn each enemy's telegraphs or learn to predict the timing of the telegraph activation and run to the locations before the red stuff appears, I may as well not bother with harder content until I completely overgear it to the point where I can stand in all the bad and not die.

Ninety-three fucking plat? Goddamn. And here I thought I was doing well at level 33 with 1.9 plat. I guess that's why those Raidin' costume pieces are selling for so much, I didn't think people had nearly that much cash at this point.
So, those of you who've hit 50, how much cash did you have upon doing so (presuming you didn't also make Trumpesque dollaz from architecture)?

Did they also nerf the vendor amount for the decor pieces you could get from doing challenges?
Had to relog for my CREDD to show up, just as an FYI.
Process for selling it isn't super intuitive. Make sure you bind it to account, not character or it gets applied as game-time.

Veteran War of the Wilds Gold appears to be doable post-patch, but god does it go against the whole point of a MOBA. You have to actually stop capping points because if you go through the normal strategy of capping points, because the objectives appearing are based on time and not your group's progress, you'll have 13-0 totems with your army pushing their totem and the first objective won't even have spawned yet.
My last group (we failed the first challenge because someone didn't come dps it from the start) stood doing nothing for 5 minutes, hoping our army wouldn't end the adventure too early because the second objective hadn't spawned yet. That's pretty much the opposite of compelling gameplay.

Anyone still have a free NA pass so I can test it out prior to purchase? Probably in to late for those, but I figured I'd ask.
I will send you one of mine momentarily in a PM.
I tried binding it to alt, but that doesn't work.
