I want this game to be out....mostly so they can get cracking on Cyberpunk. Don't hate me Witcher thread, I'll play W3 eventually when I upgrade laptops (though I guess my Nvidia 670M would run it on low?
It's a little bit of hyperbole, but yes some games can stress a graphical card with ridiculously inefficient coding, and cause it to overheat badly enough it fails.

I'm not expecting Cyberpunk til at least 2017. I'm looking forward to it, though for some reason my friends all want me to play co-op with them because they're convinced I'll be really good at it. Apparently playing W2 on dark mode means I'll be really at Cyberpunk.

Starforce used to render disk drives inoperable as well.

Which is to say that they ceased to work permanently. I tried uninstalling it, I tried putting the drive in a new machine. There may have been a fix I was not aware of but as far as I am concerned, Starforce still owes me for an optical drive
Witcher 3: In other news, I recently levelled up my computer in the graphics stat by picking up a 970  however, I'm going to be holding off on the CPU upgrade as long as I can. the i7 920 may not cut the Witching mustard but it seems fine with everything else and I'd like to see if I can hold out for skylake
This may be a long shot, but does anyone know of a working chapter 5 storage mod for The Witcher? The two with working links on the Witcher wiki don't seem to work with the current version. One requires a combat overhaul mod and the other gives the option to open storage on the dentist, but the actual contents that show up look like an alchemy vendor's inventory.
*edit* I found a save editor that I got to work. Left my 1 damn devourer tooth in the bank and wanted to finish the dentist quest. Better than starting Chapter 5 over.
I think the best word to describe the first game is disjointed. The narrative is all over, and I hated how the game had to tell you that you and Alvin were so close because the game was completely unable to create a believable emotional connection between anyone. Also, even with the Enhanced Edition having rerecorded voice acting, holy crap was Dandelion terrible.
The core game was a lot of fun, though, and it feels good to finally put this title to bed. I'm really looking forward to the second game. I'll probably start it tonight. Hopefully they tightened up the storytelling.
Sword of Destiny is getting a translation? That was the last one I expected to get done. Baptism of Fire and Time of Contempt are already done, now we're waiting on Swallow's Tower and Lady of the Lake.
Excellent! Time of Contempt and Baptism of Fire are already out; I wasn't aware that Sword of Destiny was being translated. Something else to look forward to ...
Just finished Witcher 2. I think those credits took no shit 20 minutes to go through. After all these years, I'm really glad I finally finished these games. I now have a preorder in for 3 and can't wait.

I really hope there is a dragon age keep type thing that lets you bullshit a savestate from the previous games, or at least like Mass effect handled it
I'm also finally playing Witcher 2. I left it languishing for years after being totally turned off by the combat. Now I'm thinking W3 might be good, so best to get ready. I got a trainer to make the combat less of a hassle and am enjoying it. Only just got to Flotsam though, so lots to do still. I'm already thinking I like Roche more than Iorveth.
So how did you leave everything? There's quite a lot of things that can happen in Chapter 3.
Not sure what the actual major choices were in chapter 3 aside from saving Triss and letting Letho live. Oh, and I decided not to let Sile get torn apart by the flawed diamond. I took Roche's path and ended up letting him kill Henselt.

According to this interview, yes! There will be something similar to the DA Keep.
PS4 version confirmed 1080p/30fps
XB1 900p/30fps
Textures for both (maybe overall graphical quality) a little below High compared to the PC version
+1

I need to replay and finish 2. I never finished 2. I got to the last chapter before my old computer crapped out, then in the new playthrough my girlfriend was watching with me and making choices, but we stopped for no good reason. That happens sometimes. I can't remember why.

I need to just bite the bullet and complete both of the Witcher games. I want to love them, I DO love them...but have never beaten either. I get stuck at a spot, or get pulled away for something else...just random crap. It's time to push them to the top of the backlog though, and just play through them on easy to catch up with the story.

Thank. God.

When I eventually get 3 I'm going to play all of them again in order. Alchemy god, alchemy god, probably alchemy god again since they never really seem to balance alchemy all that well.
Although at least alchemy god in 2 required a little bit of swordsman.

I haven't been watching any of these videos. I do hope nobody discusses anything in them outside of spoilers. Nobody has I'm just asking ahead of time. I'm trying to remain as experience spoiler free as possible.
When the game comes out I'll be unbookmarking the thread.

CDprojekt don't fuck around with PC versions, Witcher 2 pretty much was the catalyst for me upgrading for the first time.
I figure if I can handle this beast, should get me through current gen if I start hobbling near the end.
