Potentially big Season 6 spoilers re: a certain maybe-dead person (serious, pretty big spoilers here)
Sources have told io9 that Kit Harington — whose character Jon Snow seemingly perished in the recent season finale — has been seen in Belfast with several other members of the cast. Belfast, of course, is home to much of the show’s filming for scenes set in the North and at The Wall. Production is already preparing to start on Game of Thrones’ sixth season, so our source speculates that Harington could be making appearances as Snow — either flashbacks, or scenes showing that he survived the seemingly fatal mutiny of the Night’s Watch.
Or
They need some scenes with him lying there while the night watch is trying to convince everyone Snow slipped on his sword. Five times. 'It was hilarious if it wasn't so tragic guys, honest.'
You have to pay people anytime they show up in an episode, per union rules.
I doubt they'd pay fly [REDACTED] back to the set and pay the episode fee for just laying there
Isn't it just names in the credits? Cause Hannibal has been crediting
the whole fucking cast
for the first few eps of season 3 despite them being maybe dead, just to keep you in suspense re; their survival.

Wasn't it done for all the dead Lannisters? Or did they use body doubles? Granted they also staged a rapey love scene around Joffreys ceremony but I hope everyone keeps their pants on for this one.
I have spoilered your response just to be extra sure I don't step on any toes. Would you be willing to do the same courtesy?

yup
also i'd never noticed how many lingering shots they have on jon or how much daenerys admires drogo
when i first watched the first season i thought daenerys was all about getting back to westeros and cared about drogo because he was her only way back but now i realize that she truly loved and admired drogo and saw him and was all "now that's how you fucking rule," which is why she's fucked up so much this season in mereen. daenerys needs to be ruthless, not in a joffrey "shit i should act ruthless so people don't realize i'm a wimp" way but more along the lines of "i simply am a badass and ruthlessness is the most advantageous way for me to rule"
Or just how awful Robert really was in almost every way.
I would love to see some sort of miniseries that lets us see the key points of Roberts Rebellion. I want to see Rhaegar fighting Robert, all that stuff.

i'd love that
or a miniseries about how maester aeomon passed up on being king and all that drama that surrounded it
I'm all for the lore. I really should start in on the books to fill that need. Im assuming they give some detailed backstory the show doesn't have time to get into.

No idea about that stuff with the lannisters in earlier seasons
Also, the union rules around putting someone's name in the opening credits are malleable, due to the potential for spoiling things.

There's a series of stories about Aemon's brother who ended up being king. Though they're really about a knight the brother squired for. Generally referred to as "Dunk and Egg" they're sometimes a little hard to find, but worth it.
Self-righteousness is incompatible with coalition building.
Im just wondering what awful situation awaits her. Best case is Brienne finds her
remember when something good happened to that one character that time and it didn't immediately turn into a horrifying tragedy only moments later?
because I sure don't
The part with Jamie and his daughter in the finale was practically self-parody. I'm not sure when the show transitioned from "bad things happen in this deadly game of thrones" to full-on misery porn, but it definitely took a turn somewhere. Maybe with the torture of Theon in season 3?

I do so love that Theon's entire plot for a whole season was just getting tortured over and over again, as if to point out that this show literally doesn't know what to do with characters sometimes but still wants them in every episode. Because for real, Theon had about 20 minutes of combined screentime for that whole year.
But yes, this show has reached the self-parody point, I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if Arya got a birthday cake next season and somehow choked to death on it.

The entire Dorne plot line was bungled with such abandon that it almost seemed like a separate show.
Having recently watched season 1, some moments of this season appear exceptionally poor and serve as a warning as to what the showrunners will do without the safety net of the source material (I suspect the Dorne plot we got was not in the books, or at least was heavily, heavily modified).

The three short stories are actually being released this October in a single bound novel. Titled "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and apparently containing 160 illustrations.
Additionally, for the more visually inclined, the first two were translated into graphic novels, too - the first one is "The Hedge Knight" and the second is "The Sworn Sword." The third one does not appear to have been.
they wasted a ton of screentime making the audience love shireen this season and then killing her and then stannis still failing for literally no reason
they could have left the wife and daughter back at dragonstone and Stannis still failed because of the weather and Brienne still killed him
like they're literally wasting screen time in order to set up characters we like so they can kill them, same shit with myrcella

Getting the audience to love a character then kill them off later means they did their job. It'd be a wasted effort if the audience didn't care about Shireen. She was important for Stannis fall this season, without her the story line never happens. GOT has done this repeatedly through its tenure - Ned being the biggest example. We don't know the full effects for Stannis fall have until next season.

Stannis didn't fail because of the weather or Brienne. He failed because he killed Shireen--because half his troops deserted in direct response to watching him burn his own daughter alive. None of this plotline was wasted time, and honestly along with Tyrion's and Jon's (especially in the second half) Stannis' was the best story this season.

it's not like she's ever taken action on anything ever up to this point
Well, from all accounts @Atomika next season is going to be the penultimate. UNLESS the entire story is humans fight each other and then the undead army kills everything and Westeros is a wasteland (which would be HUGELY disappointing) there's a reason. Unless Ramsay has plot armor and is completely free from any consequence, a comeuppance is in store for him. It's going to be fucking ugly. I have a feeling Sansa will play a part in it. I will cheer, because that character is stupid.
Sansa has taken action, although baby steps. Considering how meek she was at the beginning of the series she's actually progressed a bit, what with the corkscrew and all. If this was Sansa of season 1 she would have sat in her room and moped.
Of course, the producers could just keep her as the perpetual victim and not have her follow the path of pretty much every other major female role in the show.

I disagree
Ned's death was important for the plot. The show has a bunch of plots and characters that need resolving and instead we're wasting time empowering minor characters solely so they can kill them. Christ Myrcella's death could have been an SNL skit
The plot would be unrecognizable if Ned had survived season 1. If Shireen had been left at Dragonstone the only thing that would've been different is Stannis would have died without the audience hating and without him hating himself, and they would have had to come up with something clever to explain how he loses so badly to an inferior force
Which they didn't anyway, the entire thing was poorly handled and stupid

This. The Stannis plot was ultimately hollow and constructed for maximum shock value and minimum sense.

This is kind of a pointless post without mentioning what complains it's directed toward
Some of the complaints are silly
Some are very, extremely valid and warranted
And the scene where Cat realizes her sister is bugfuck, the look on Cats face is priceless

His could be a very interesting story to tell if they want.
Similar to Ned, he has(had) one brother at the wall and lost his father and another brother to the king.

At this point I'd watch a half hour show of Dinklage shooting the shit in character James Lipton style
Call it Inside the Half-Man's Studio

Some of the rape comments. Some of the violence or the death of characters.
Maybe in previous seasons but the stuff we saw in Season 5 was a pg-13 version of itself from the older seasons.
If you mean the Stannis thing, I did.
If Ramsay never dies onscreen in the series.
BUT
You can kill him in the Telltale game (which is canon in the show) and choose how he dies.
I'd love that to be true but they'd have to cover two seasons worth of plot in two episodes.
