I wasn't impressed with Axis #2. I finished it, and I have no craving to read the next issue. I didn't hate it, but it didn't leave me wanting more, either. Even the last page had me just going "Meh" instead of being excited about what comes next.
The banter in issue 1 broke my spirit. I just can't do it.
I will quietly return to Silver Surfer and Rocket Raccoon and read those.
I do like that marvel is doing books with such a broad range of moods and styles. I've always liked unexpected surprises like Kate Beaton doing Thor at the carnival and I feel like the more cute-quirky books have their own space alongside x-man time traveling and Punisher executing gangsters.

Axis #2 is just, is Remender trying to get a gig working on Whedon's movie stuff and believes imitation is flattery? Is there an edict from Marvel similar to making Wolverine pretty and handsome during the '00s that Iron Man has to be RDJ? Everyone just feels off or does stupid things because the plot requires it, including how these sentinels work.
Dr. Strange was off, the book/Havok acts like Cyclops has been a villain as long as Magneto has been one and actually done bad things since the Phoenix controlled him (when you can say Havok did worse things when he was an undercover badguy in X-Factor), Desc made the astute point of a boss raid in issue #1 and it feels the same way here, complete with resting a bit at the nearest town to get a party together. Even the mention of the title of the book in the book didn't give me the little aha! moment like when it happens in movies.
The whole thing is just DC bad. It's really shaping up like Forever Evil.

I thought Axis2 was a notable better issue than issue 1. Though I dont think we'll get a true feel for this event till the inversion happens

New Avengers #25 made up for Axis and Uncanny X-Men. And Hickman calls back to his other series, and I don't know what crawled up Sue's butt but she needs to take a chill pill. I don't know how much of this is connecting to Robinson's FF but I can only think something bad happening to one of the kids being why she's so pissed.
And Captain Britain info:
he's the last Cap Britain left, and he also lost an eye. He's kind of like the Jack Flag for the reader now, being the normal dude to process information.
Which is cool because he can ride that line of calling them on their BS but not be all aghast at why they're doing what they're doing.
There's some sort of undercurrent going on that we are not privy to
Avengers/SHIELD aren't pissed at the Illuminati for blowing up Earths, since they seem perfectly okay with the Cabal doing that. I doubt they're pissed at them for trying to stop the Cabal. You don't go "Trying to stop Thanos from murdering people is eeeeeeviiiilll" You may say stopping him is the wrong move, or misguided or something, but no way does Sue Storm think that trying to save innocent lives is an evil thing.
The Illuminati HAD to have done something else of a pretty grievous magnitude to get the Avengers all up in their butts.
Another tepid issue for Axis, but the ending and the issue of Magneto have me keeping hope that it'll get better soon. At this point, I'm more interested in what the lasting status quo changes will be, how they'll play into the 8 months later stuff, and how it will affect what Remender writers after it ends (Will Uncanny Avengers stick around in a similar form, or will it relaunch with an entirely new lineup of heroes and villains?).
I'm still behind on Hickman's books, will have to catch up on those over the weekend.

Cap Britain's the last? Wonder if they show how Smashing Spider-Brit dies in the Spider-verse series or in this one then.
I wonder if it'll be like the original Secret Wars, but instead of taking pieces from different planets, they instead take pieces from different alternate universes /times.

I assumed all these had something to do with either Times Runs Out or Secret Wars - or are those two things one and the same? I can't tell. Either way, it's pretty great - wrapping up the big long-running Death of the Multiverse storyline with a huge mega-crossover war between all things great past and future would be sweet.
Well, if I was going for stuff I wanted to see, a Annihilation 3 could be interesting. (Cancerverse returns, maybe?)
I love that the Cancerverse still exists, and is now a potential source of eldritch abominations for any story that needs one. I hope Marvel doesn't forget that Shuma-Gorath was made one of the gods of the Cancerverse (on top of all the other stuff he does) and they address him and his fellows at some point.
As far as another Annihilation event goes - I've always wanted them to do something with the original Onslaught, who was last seen trapped in the Negative Zone, which is bound to put him at odds with Annihilus eventually. Annihiliation: Onslaught has a certain something to it as a title.
That's pretty rad, and I like that they're straight up just going with Acuna as the artist this time, because I felt he didn't get much spotlight on the last volume even though he illustrated the majority of the series.
That said, I was really expecting Magneto and Iron Man to be on this team as well, since their roles have been so large in Axis and since it seemed like Remender came up with the Superior Iron Man idea.
Seems kind of light on the x-men side of things? Just rogue?
It's over half mutants though. (Sabretooth, Scarlet Witch, Rogue and Quicksilver)

I always liked Sabertooth trying to be good in the 90's (though Loeb just went "nope" before AoA), because it was the most extreme version of redeeming someone to date.
I would think at this point that Sabretooth has too much blood on his hands to be redeemed. Yeah, Wolverine did some horrible things too, but he was brainwashed. Sabretooth doesn't have that excuse.
I always smile when I see Sabretooth in any of the Brotherhood line-ups. He has killed more mutants than most anti-mutant humans.
Redeeming Sabretooth is kinda interesting though, because we know it can be done (AoA), but they have tried several times now and never even gotten close.

Well at least Axis won't take a year to get done.

I just figured these event teases are either a joke, or maybe for a new "Marvel NOW WHAT" anthology.
