I basically listen to nothing but Weird Al, They Might Be Giants, and Queen because I dunno, a mime bit me as a child and cursed me with narrow musical taste, so I have no idea what the deal with Blurred Lines happens to be.

the impression that i have from people talking about it in this thread is that it's a song about picking up women at a bar and that the lyrics get a little too close to date-rape territory for comfort

Blurred Lines is essentially
"Well she didn't say no" the song
Everyday we stray further from God's light Steam Switch FC: 2799-7909-4852
Thicke, noting that all three male singers are married and have children, claimed that the Diane Martel-directed video was tongue-in-cheek.[13] When defending the song on NBC's The Today Show, the 36-year-old singer explained that encouraging conversation about the song's content was his intention, saying "It's actually a feminist movement within itself. It's saying that women and men are equals as animals and as power".[52] After its banning at University College London, Thicke declared the song was about his wife, and that after 20 years together, he indeed knew she wanted it from him.[53] However, he did not explain how this works in context of the rest of the song.
Thicke at first appears to contradict his claims that the song is about women empowerment in an interview given to GQ in May 2013, stating:
We tried to do everything that was taboo. Bestiality, drug injections, and everything that is completely derogatory towards women. Because all three of us are happily married with children, we were like, "We're the perfect guys to make fun of this." People say, "Hey, do you think this is degrading to women?" I'm like, "Of course it is. What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I've never gotten to do that before. I've always respected women."[57]
Thicke later clarified this comment during an interview for Oprah's Next Chapter, describing it as a "bad joke", noting that the GQ interview that was published did not mention that he had been joking back and forth with the interviewer and doing an impersonation of Will Ferrell's Ron Burgundy character while making the remark, thus not providing the facetious context.[25]

Incidentally I never really caught most of the lyrics to pumped up kicks and was kind of weirded out when I hear gun references in the polka version where the lyrics are a lot clearer
Aaaaand apparently that song is about a kid finding his dad's gun and killing a bunch of kids in the neighborhood and/or his dad?

Apparently there is a custom Rock Band track community out there that makes tracks you can download and play them if you have an original printing of RB3 and don't have any software updates downloaded for it, or something like that.
Now you may find it inconceivable or at the very least a bit unlikely that the relative positions of the planets and the stars could have some special deep significance or meaning that exclusively applies to only you but let me give you my assurance that these forecasts and predictions are all based on solid scientific documented evidence so you would have to be some kind of moron not to realize that every single one of them is absolutely true!

I would make any sacrifice for your love
Goat, chicken, whatever
I want you inside me
Like a tapeworm
Like the first time I listened to it I didn't really catch "like trigonometry and prime numbers" and now that's probably my favorite one.

Jack Black gets super into it, but then, when does he not get super into anything? Such a perfect fit for the video.
Plus it brings back warm Schoolhouse Rock feels.

"you know you want it" is a heavily repeated refrain
and it contains the line "you the hottest bitch in this place"

You say that as if we don't have Al's entire discography on our phones at all times, including a separate playlist that is just the polkas
Wait, what?
Oh, that's just me then?
apparently most of my al music did not make the jump from my last computer
guess that's what i get for not taking the time to ensure everything was organized

I assume most people are lazy like me and just click on an artist and listen through all the artists music over and over again.
We should try and come up with a top 20 Weird Al playlist as a group. Maybe everybody gives a top five with a weighted voting system could work well.

This was probably 4-5 years ago that they released the tools publicly and anyone with an XNA account could test them on their own 360.
Edit: here's more on the "official" way to do it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Band_Network#Authoring_process

I don't even know how to put all the polkas in there.
They even said that they'd look into it if rock band ever got a keyboard and then they didn't!!
http://www.audioentropy.com/
But they're the same type of song, and I enjoy them about equally, so I just chose the one based on the better film
But then I remembered that I know the bridge by heart even today so yeah I guess that's a pretty excellent song
