I stumbled in a couple places, but I think I did pretty well over all.

    That is damn good shit.

I stopped listening to Weird Al's version to listen to you sing this.

I was gonna say that I'm surprised at the double appearance of horoscope

But then I remembered that I know the bridge by heart even today so yeah I guess that's a pretty excellent song

This might be the dorkiest single thing I ever say, considering what two things it relates to, but I really wish All your friends are laughing behind your back / kill them was the fortune for Capricorn instead of Sagittarius.

I'm still waiting for the day that in real life I am forced to reveal I know all the symbols for signs of the zodiac despite thinking that astrology is total bullshit.

Then again, most of my friends know I know a lot random crap anyway, so I might have an out.

Albuquerque on Rock Band looks horribly boring for everyone but the singer.

You do learn to appreciate the little embellishments Al puts on every line he sings. I could remember them in my mind even as you belted them out.

The reason I know this thread is full of good people is because Albuquerque is on almost everyone's top 5 list

Most everyone I know disregard it as a 12 minute long song

    Bad opinion, that

When I made a playlist for my top songs I got it down to 23, but there are a lot I still like beyond that, but I don't love them like the other ones I put up there.

Although going through the songs Bad Hair Day is my favorite album.

Here's my top 23 although it was a rough go through of his discography relying on my memory

I don't own his whole discography, but I re-listened to the albums I have (Dare to Be Stupid, UHF, Off the Deep End, and then Bad Hair Day and everything after that) and I'm definitely pretty picky with the songs I liked. My tastes definitely changed from when I was teenager that had the entirety of Yoda memorized. (Though when I re-listened to it earlier this week I found I still knew most of it, and considering what's going on with Star Wars these days I'll be makin' these movies 'till the end of time seems strangely prescient.)

Just like most bands, he's got stuff he does in concert that he'll never put on an album.

It's not the only time he's done songs attacking the artist (Smells Like Nirvana, Achy Breaky Song, etc.), but I forget if he actually asked Joel for permission or not. Considering how old that song was, it was probably before he was known at all and by the time he Made It Big the song was too dated for an album.

Yeah, he said that this is more than likely his final album, and that he'd rather just release singles than go through a big label. The downside to that is the polka medleys have a lot of legal paperwork behind them, and that's too much effort without the aid a recording label and their team of lawyers.

As I said earlier in this thread, I am curious if a polka version of a single song would be possible for him to manage on his own. It's not unprecedented, and you just have the one party to contact and negotiate with.

I wonder if he'd partner with a late night show to do another polka medley. Jimmy Fallon does a lot of stuff that's kind of similar on the Tonight Show

I am rather angry that not only did Miley manage to develop a rather long-lived music career, but somehow went through a metamorphosis into something even worse.

Too bad Even Worse has already been taken as an album name.

Yeah I saw on Wikipedia that it was a Beck pastiche and I was very confused. I had always assumed that was a Prince style parody.

    Ah:
Jeannie of Tokyo, Japan asks: Was "Wanna B Ur Lovr" intended to be a style parody of anyone specific? It totally sounds like Midnite Vultures-era Beck to me, but I was just wondering.

You’re right on the money. The Prince-like title throws a lot of people, but that song is actually intended to sound like me trying to sound like Beck trying to sound like Prince.

That's a roundabout way to do it, but it works.
