I think I've noticed a bug with some of my medic abilities. The tooltip for emission doesn't say it costs any focus to use; I can't recall if discharge or whatever its damage equivalent costs focus either, but I know the mission ability has not text for me in terms of cost. My other abilities seems to indicate a focus and actuator cost, or some combination therein, which is fine too. I thought I was ok to just spam emission like mad in between other things, but apparently not? I jumped in on some world event/boss thing in southwest Algoroc, and was excited to finally try my healing action set. I was spamming emission along with some other stuff...then went out of focus pretty fast. I noticed emission was indeed taking focus. What gives? Is this a bug?
Also, I noticed that my one stun I have (only level 16 thus far), has a side effect of removing interrupt armor. However, I notice that sometimes it just doesn't work. Like, I'l; hit something with 2 IA, and it'll still have 2 afterward.
It's an AoE ability, but does it have a chance to miss or something?
Healing skills have a focus cost, whereas strict damage skills will not. There is, get this, a bug where Emission is not showing the Focus Cost, but this will be fixed in the future. Discharge will never cost focus.
Interrupt Armor is implemented in a somewhat shitty where the regeneration is always ticking regardless of the current status. Thus it's possible to hit a thing right as they're about to regen some armor. So while you did strip an armor, they regenerate it so fast that it may not even look like you did anything.
I really wish they would either A) Have armor start regenning when it's lost or B ) show a little radial timer to give us an idea of when the mob will regen an armor.

Focus is ONLY for your support skills (as a healer, tanks don't have focus), so things like Discharge don't use focus at all. With that being said, Emission does take focus (its t4 actually makes it costs no focus if you're low on focus though) but you're right, doesn't look like the tooltip shows that. Might have to play with it to see roughly how much it costs or someone else might know. But yeah, pretty much any healer support ability costs focus.
Regarding IA, it recharges fast. So if you hit something with 2 IA then it'll drop to 1 IA for a few seconds, tops, then it recharges. The point of IA is so that you alone aren't likely to interrupt but a group that's coordinated can. Though as a warrior I can actually chew through IA (I think other classes can later game too).

Ugh, I tried to see how my new tanking gear was in a training round of Seige.
Now I know why I stopped wanting to tank. Every time I do the dps is terrible and it takes forever and I end up wishing I was dpsing so it wasn't so slow.
I really wish they would either A) Have armor start regenning when it's lost or B ) show a little radial timer to give us an idea of when the mob will regen an armor.
Hmm. Do we know if the IA regeneration is a constant tag on mobs or starts when they enter combat? IF it's upon entering combat a modder could possibly setup an addon that, upon entering combat, starts a timer that lets you know when IA is going to regen.
It's probably just constantly running though and doesn't take combat into account.
Someone had mentioned a dual spec gear outfitter addon thing. Anyone remember that?
The addon looks to be called MrFancyPants, though it apparently doesnt have auto-equip functionality.
It's pretty great considering it's the only game in town. You basically bookmark each bit of gear in a specific set, and then it stacks the bookmarks for you to right click on when you want to switch sets.
So if I want to go from heals to DPS, I click the DPS Spec and it gives me a gear window with my bookmarks. Click that window until it's empty and I'm in DPS gear. Just need to remember to update the set bookmarks when you get new gear and your set. Between that and sassybuilds, I can swap specs in like 20 seconds or so. And more importantly, it's so much less fiddly than doing it manually.
My other new favorite add on is one that basically plants your stuff for you. It's called easyplant, and it's great once your garden is max, because holy crap so many spots to plant.

I am level 47 and just made it to Southern Grimvault. Hooray for housing rested exp.
Maybe I'll be lucky and hit 50 by the end of these last two zones.
I picked this up and I'm experimenting on a class I like. I started with a Stalker and got up to lv 15 and started to really dislike it. I normally roll mage/support classes and right now I'm bouncing between Medic and Esper. Once I finally decide on something, I'll probably join the PA guild.

I think it's neither? At least, when I'm fighting Primes, it seems like every telegraphed/interruptible attack they do sets their interrupt armor to a certain amount, rather than it regenerating gradually on its own.

Welcome from the D3 thread @Arikado! If you do try Esper, the first complaint everyone has is that their first builder is stationary. I think there's talk that they might be changing it to being mobile.

I don't mind the immobility as long as it does more damage. Early levels are hard to tell (since everything dies super fast) so I'm assuming that's true? Otherwise, I'll stick with Healer.

Esper will never have the initial burst damage of any other class. Their builder is low damage, immobile, and quite shitty. Their real strength lies in their combo finishers. So you'll basically be hitting like a wet noodle for 5 out of every 6 attacks. Its not terrible, but its horribly boring and you have to keep a close eye on your health and defenses throughout the entire fight, because even if an enemy has 10% health left if you dont have any CP left you will have to get to 3-4 points before you can finish it off again.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Its good for its lifesteal, its SHIT for its damage, and SHIT for its CP Generation. Basically if you go a heavy lifesteal build you become a solo monster because you wont take much damage, you'll be constantly healing, and will wear everything down, but your DPS is going to suffer greatly. Psychic Frenzy is about 1/3 the damage, and 2x the time required to get 1 CP as Telekinetic strike, but you can slot it for lifesteal at 25, and move with it.

And later on, you won't actually use it much. At least, when questing. The name of the game is 5 combo points. So, when I use my esper my normal rotation will be something like open with pyro flame (heals allies and damages enemies)+spectral swarm, then 1 Psychic Frenzy, then Bolster. That's 5 combo points and I'll fire off TK Storm. If it's an especially high health enemy, I'll use Spectral Form and get another quick 5 combo points. Nothing normal lives through that.
My esper is only lvl 23, so you can see that you won't be stuck with the basic combo generators for very long.

edit: Danm...I'm still getting the same 5+ second long graphics freezes I've been getting since the patch. Keep hoping it'll be resolved, but noooope. Going to end up becoming a citizen of the glorious Nvidia empire so I can stop having problems with every single new game.
double edit: Woo, graphics locked and I crashed all the way out. What's the cheapest Nvidia card I could go to that'd be a worthwhile upgrade over an HD-5770?

I'd have to say the 5770 is pretty ancient for trying to play Wildstar anyway.

Don't get too excited, I'm on an Nvidia card and I get the same issues. The freezes typically happen when I'm going through somewhat more crowded areas, like Thayd, but I definitely see them and they're obnoxious. I think it's related to loading more objects/npcs as if I run around the same areas I'm fine but if I try to run from one end of Thayd to another I see a ton. It does happen in other areas too, just not as often. I also crash out completely every so often. I know there was awhile from launch until recently that I didn't have any crashes, but they're definitely back with a vengeance now.

The numbers aren't a mystery anymore
DPS: you need 8% strikethrough
Tanks: You need 12% deflect crit to not get randomly destroyed
Hey all! Just picked up the game and it's my first MMO without my usual group. I'd like to ask for an invite to the Exile guild, if that's alright. My character is named Andesite. Thanks!

I do like siege though. It's a bit of a glasschewer with the randomness, but it's nowhere near as boring as the other 3 adventures.
