I took a job in Richland and will be moving there this summer.

It sounds ridiculous, but I'm looking to connect with a group of gamers (aka Will you be my friend?)

My entire social circle for the last 9 years has been professional colleagues. I'm tired of everyone I know only talking about medicine or ESPN. My wife (also a physician) is amazing and will play games with me (GW2, Forza, etc) but her heart's not in it. I want friends that are at least as excited about Mass Effect as I am.

I promise, I'm not as pathetic and desperate IRL as this post sounds. I'm just looking to jump start the next phase of my life that includes people that know acronyms (EQ, AC, D3, etc) not describing horrible diseases (OI, NF2, ON, EWS, etc).

Meetup.com is a good resource for meeting people with similar interests.

Thanks for the advice, @Quid‌. Before I go full-CraigsList, I figured I would try the online circles I am already familiar with first. If we have no Tri-Citians (Richlanders?) here, then I will branch out. It is a pretty narrow neck of the woods, so I'm not expecting much. But it is worth a shot (in the dark?).

You might keep the Walla Walla area in mind if you're looking for gaming buddies. IiRC it's only 35-40 miles from the Tri-Cities, which is not too far in Eastern Washington.

Absolutely, @knitdan‌, surrounding areas are included as well. I spent 4 years in Spokane and my family lives in Seattle, so I am familiar with those areas. I am less familiar with the Southeastern section, so I won't specify towns. The point is to find a group to hang out with. I would say that anything within about 30-45 min distance is reasonable.

As with many things, it depends on area and interests. I've used meetup around me to find more friends that are into gaming and the like, and while they tend to be good people they are more interested in the meet ups themselves than the people. Still something they should check out tho.
