    Yeah I mean

Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones and all that

    Those shows are neat

    But yo

    They're no Lost

Hell, Breaking Bad is straight-up a better show than Lost, but I don't know if anything will come close to recreating the experience

One moment from this show that always stuck with me (mega last season spoilers)
When MIB was sitting down with Ben and said to him "Do you know what Locke's last thought was right before he died? 'I don't understand'."

Oh my god that is soul crushing

Game of Thrones will become a Lost-style experience in...oh, let's say 2 years

The only thing that keeps it from being that is that there are thousands of book people who know exactly what's going to happen

Shit I'd forgotten all about Ben

    What a fantastic, amazing character

Although I wonder sometimes if he'd been as successful played by anyone else.

Also something I really liked (mega spoilers)
The difference between MIB and Jacob. MIB was a very driven, focused, and active individual. Jacob just seemed exhausted, above everything else - to the point where it was hard to tell how much he really cared anymore.

Imagine a world where Jack was played by Michael Keaton.

Now I'm imagining Jack subconsciously dropping TLC lyrics on the island.

The best thing about Jacob is that Jacob kinda sucks

Re: Ben (real spoilers if you haven't seen the show)
They hadn't even decided if he'd be the leader or just a random henchmen until the scene of Michael Emerson eating cereal at which point they decided that this guy was definitely the leader.

Well wouldn't Ben not even exist were it not for Emerson?
his character was originally only supposed to last until the Henry Gale arc ended, but he ended up being so rad they spun it out into a much bigger role

Yes! It actually goes a long way to making sense out of so many things
The dude is kind of shitty at what he is doing, but this whole thing was basically thrust upon him and he has to deal with it the best he can. He fucks up a lot. I mean christ, he basically created an actual factual monster!

Basically Jacob's resume should just be whoops.jpg

So is anyone else on board with the theory that (mega spoilers)
The Light is the physical manifestation of Time? It ties a lot of things together quite well (the flashes, the need for it not to go out, how those touched by it can seem to exist outside of it, MIBs abilities, Mother saying "each man is born with a little, but they always want more", etc etc

I've never heard of that, but I really like it as a theory.

So, this is probably the best series trailer that has been made.

Covers everything up to the finale episode.

I honestly think 2 episodes a week would probably work out better.

We could knock this out in a little over a year as opposed to the 2 & a half Grey Ghost mentioned.

You should watch them the way I watched them!

By discovering this show as it was halfway into it's second season and marathoning the first season in the span of 2 days and then realizing you have an exam to get to and oh man you are a piece of shit

    How did you not die

How can you do the entire first season in 2 days and not die

That is a lot of episodes

Well it was less than 24 hours of TV. That plus being a college student ensured I had mastered how to cram everything into my brain for extended periods of time without sleeping.

The modern 13 episode season has made me soft

I forgot what it was like to have an hour-long show with a 22-episode season

I watched the first season of Veronica Mars really recently and I thought I'd never make it

Josh Holloway really could've made a good Gambit.

Matthew Fox would've been an okay Cyclops, for that matter.

Screw it, let's just do X-Men with nothing but lost alum.

I think the world is ready for Daniel Day Kim Wolverine.

By the way, I am still really confused by one major element of the show.

    SERIES SPOILERS
I have no idea what Christian was in the grand scheme of things. The idea I had to latch on to was he was the physical/spiritual manifestation of the island.

    Thoughts?

It was inconsistent. At times the MIB was impersonating him to his own ends ("filling in" for Jacob at the cabin, he confirmed appearing to Jack to lead him to water, etc.), but then there seemed to be instances of legit ghost Christian (Appearing to Michael saying "You can go now", meeting with Jack in the afterlife, etc). It is kind of hard to nail down when its the MIB and when it's Ghost Dad. Best rule of thumb is if he is pushing other characters, then it is probably the MIB.

    The issue with that is:
The Man in Black can't mystically travel over water, and ghost Christian visits Michael while he's on the freighter.

    I'M SO CONFUSED!

I think sometimes Christian is The Man in Black, and other times he's Jacob

That time he's Jacob, because he tells Michael that he can go now and The Man in Black wouldn't be privy to that kind of information
