Metalopolis seems like it would be an absolute disaster these days.

I have a podcast about Digimon called the Digital Moncast, on Audio Entropy.

man, i have been out of this game for a while. watching WCS america scarlett vs iaguz (ZvT) and apparently swarmhost/ultralisk/muta is a legit composition vs terran? i turned on the game late, but it seemed like iaguz went bio and according to the casters the swarmhosts are what kept scarlett in the game.

You know? I really like Clutch.

When I first saw him at MLG I thought he was a bro, but since then with what he's done and with NASL and such, he's a cool guy.

The Cooler Master guy was complimenting SC fans on their product response and such and Clutch responds with:

    "Starcraft players had good parenting."

    "That parenting was Brood Wars."

Probably the only map where it was easier to take the gold as a fourth than one of the other blue blases.

Trying to broaden my horizons and watching the WCS tonight and have a stupid question. Why does everyone wear IEM's then over ear headphones over top? I'm assuming the over the ear ones are to noise cancel?

Secondly, some of these commentators are painful to listen to.

I missed it but I don't have a problem with tvp anymore. seems winnable if the t plays better and is a pleasure to watch. enough games get to late game on even footing and enough terrans are capable of out maneuvering toss that I can't get mad at pretty much anything.

Man, that retro map pool idea is a great idea. Maybe not from a pure balance perspective, but it's definitely going to be fun, and it will be great to recognize the maps again.

Tal'Darim was good for some pretty epic games, does anyone else remember Thorzain vs MC in TSL 3?

Iaguz was up a base and had 120 army supply to 60 with no templar on the field and still lost ten minutes later.

  • MMMigMMMig Registered User regular
Yeah, no clue how Thorzain and his bunkers held off MCs push on that map. That was insane.

Also damn, I wanted Violet to win.
He looked pretty damn crushed there in the end. That last fight was just a tough uphill fight the entire time. Not scouting those last two spots in the early game just pretty much put him on the backfoot the entire time. Then also the rookie mistake of not just leaving an overseer idle in each base after the constant obvious DT harass. sigh....

you beat me bad, but i hope that every lump is a like a seed i'm planting for my future, at being good at starcraft 2

(has anyone else found their skills here transfer to other RTS games? Back when I was diamond post launch with WoL I thought I would be amazing at other games since they're nowhere near as micro intensive, but what i felt i learned was that being good at starcraft just makes you good at starcraft)

I kind of had the opposite. I played a lot of WC3 with friends, and I really didn't mesh well with SC2 in the beginning. They're similar, but economy is king in SC2 and it was all about Micro and such in WC3.

I would probably prefer a happy medium between those two extremes, given a perfect world.

    WC4? I can dream...

I think SC2 helps with general RTS stuff. I always played UD in WC3 and mostly played zerg in SC2. While the focus of the games is different appropriate scouting, and other generic skills are relevant in both.

WC4 can't exist as long as WoW exists. And if WoW dies I'm pretty sure Blizzard would die due to internal strife over it.

I know...and it is depressing to think about. To be honest I would be perfectly fine with WC3 being re-released and just getting patches either with new content (units or maps), or other balance stuff (items etc). Plus all the modern nice things such as observer mode etc.

I thought we already knew Warcraft 4 was in development? Didn't some random blizzcon announcer accidentally mention it when she thought she was off-mic a few years ago? I remember Chris Metzen was really pissed off that someone talked about it.

I also can't believe we haven't heard anything substantial about Titan by this point. I heard something about how they were scrapping it or starting over, but not a whiff of concept art or what have you. My buddy at Blizzard only ever talks about Hearthstone stuff.
