Really, I'd love to see a live ticker of how much money people have spent during the sale. And then maybe what fraction of that is pure profit to do with trading cards rather than anything involving actual games.

hahaha One Way Heroics was in my wishlist but I made myself really evaluate what I want vs. what I just would buy and not play
and for $.87 I can't bring myself to buy it. I never ever play roguelikes. ever for under a buck I gotta train myself not to buy them! discipline of some sort! if I make this same decision 30 more times I can buy divinity :P
UPlay is a joke right? Like I don't really need this to play Blood Dragon right?
Go to sign up, says my Email is already been used, don't see how, well okay, recover password.
Hey a Capcha thing, no problem, type the two words? Okay, wait, there is just one set of numbers, and i need to fill out two spaces. So it's impossible.
Awesome job Ubisoft.
When Anno 2070 came on sale, I looked at it, read some reviews and was planning on picking it up. Then I saw that it was a Uplay game, and that was that. No Sale. I hope their DRM keeps the game nice and safe from the dreaded pirates. It certainly kept my wallet safe from Ubisoft.
is there a consensus on Winter Voices? I won't pull the trigger on anything til it hits sale or it's the last day, I know the rules haha, but it is one among about 6 games that are low enough for me to grab whether they hit a daily or not. full pack is like $5.
and it seems like a pretty cool strategy game? but somehow I am worried the screenshots are misleading me or I am misinterpreting them
I have written about this game before. I will dig up my post on it and -
I may pick it up. I'll probably get it when I get home. Trying to decide if I want to buy the DLC with it. The Steam Sale is like the worst casino game ever mixed with the Stock Market.
Was thinking about picking up the Skyrim Legendary Edition as I don't have any of the DLC and it (as of right now) ends up being cheaper in the long run. Is 20ish bucks good for that or has it been lower?

It will almost definitely be a daily deal at some point. Wait.

It's not featured right now so it will definitely go lower. It could go to 50% or maybe 66% off, so wait a little longer unless you need to have it immediately.
uplay for steam games isn't really all that bad; you don't have to interact with it at all if you don't want to. You just push the button in steam for farcry 3 or whatever and uplay launches before the game. You do have to make an account with them, but you don't have to actually use it for anything (I just gave it a dummy email.)
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I'd be interested to see a thorough post-mortem analysis of this sale's metagame.
I wonder if the "winning" teams actually manage to extract more overall wallet value from the sale than the losing teams...
I somehow really doubt it.
+1

Just a heads up for everyone: I know State of Decay gets a lot of love in this thread, but don't gift it to me, it won't get accepted, let alone played.
My kinemortophobia outstrips pretty much everything.
Hell, I even have to take breaks from playing Terraria because of the nightly zombie invasions . . .

Snagged the State of Decay DLC as my first purchase of the sale.
Made a summer badge and got an epic puirple...Hatzilla? From BattleBlock Theater? There are none to compare prices to in the market. The hell is battleblock theater?
BattleBlock Theater is a platformer from the makers of Castle Crashers. I've been playing it slowly on my Xbox 360 and it seems like fun with an amusing narrator. It also has co-op, which I finally tried out with my wife the other night. It actually changes up the levels so that you need to actually cooperate to get past certain obstacles, which was neat.
There was a trailer announcing the Steam release a few months ago which is pretty funny: http://youtu.be/fIUE3aP1TFw
Is Dynasty Warriors worth 50% off? I've never played one before.
I loved the DW games back in my PS2 days (university). Basically, do you remember that scene at the beginning of Lord of the Rings where Sauron is swinging that mace and people just go flying?
Well basically that's every dude you play as in DW. You swing your weapon and your enemies just go flying!
The basics of the game are that there are 3 kingdoms (And some independents) fighting for control of China (it's based off Romance of the Three Kingdoms). You pick a champion who belonged to one of those kingdoms and you play them through the campaign. Depending on who you're playing as you will fight in different battles, or from different sides of the same map, etc. You'll also unlock upgrades and new characters. I haven't played a DW game in years, they can be repetitive but a lot of fun, I'm not sure how much has changed in the series but I suspect it's remained largely the same. At 50% off I'm not sure how great of a deal it is. I'll probably wait for it to get cheaper, but it's basically a 3rd person beat-em-up on a huge scale.
I'm going to wait for Hyrule warriors to really get into a DW game.

What's the deal with State of Decay these days? I seem to recall when it came out it had a lot of issues on PC but I haven't kept up with its development in months.

So, anyone played this Bound By Flame game? I need something to kick my Paradox habit, and it looks decent.
It's got a pretty good story and great characters...However, I found the combat to be kinda shit. This is a very divisive point though. Some people love it, some hate it. I suggest you start out on easy, see if the combat grabs you, then move up if it does, stay the fuck down on easy if it doesn't.

I have played through half of it:
Combat is interesting, and challenging.
Graphics very nice
levels large enough to not get boring
Side quests are pretty good
Voice acting is mostly good, some wince-inducing, but rarely.
People curse a lot, and while that doesn't bother me, the dialog seems forced sometimes. It suffers a bit from a thing where people wrote the dialog over the course of probably a few weeks, and then none of the writers listened to it being performed, so things don't come off as well as they ought sometimes.
This may bug me more than most...
overall I'd say it's deffo worth $23 and I am enjoying it lots!

Only complaint: Micromanaging specific targets in combat is almost impossible at times, but maybe that's appropriate.
