That's because there was an epidemic of people's Steam accounts being compromised.
And in full honesty, financial institutions could probably stand to be a bit more secure these days.
well like, my bank can send a verification code to my phone on demand if it thinks it needs two factor security (for new machines/IPs and transactions of sufficient size)
but steam either locks me out for a week, or wants to send multiple authorizations to my CC vendor that take days to resolve
all because I had the temerity to fund my account from my home machine (steam client etc) and then log in from my netbook. Not even spend any money, just log in

Everyone should certainly be buying Risk of Rain while it's on sale, because it's a great game & also brings a certain amount of extra artistry to the whole lolpixelart indie-game thing.

So @Javen gave me Dark Souls, and then surprise gifts outta the blue from ... giving me LEGO movie and Wild West DLC! I loved LEGO Lords of the Rings! This is going to be great!

Also @BornToHula hit me with a standalone port of Afterfall Insanity's Dirty arena! Woo! Thanks man, I'll be sure to add that to the marathon as well.
