Man, I'm really on the fence regarding the Secret World. I don't give a damn about the MMO aspect but an RPG set in modern times while giving me a crapload of customization options, without having to pay a monthly fee? Sounds to good to be true.
You're not really on the fence, so much then?
I mean, if it helps, it has some of the most fun puzzles I've ever encountered, as well. At one point a car on the side of the road has it's lights signalling in morse code co-ordinates. Another I did recently required looking up verses in a Vulgate bible.
@Dirtyboy has issued a direct challenge to my manhood by gifting me the Deadpool table for Pinball FX2, so Obviously I must go through and destroy all his leaderboard scores on every table
I'm trying to prepare for tomorrow's badge craft without spending any money this time. I need a Summer Adventure #1. I have spares of 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 up for trade.
So I mentioned earlier that I already bought a few games during this sale. Two of them were games I'd never thought I'd buy - Farm Simulator 2013 and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Imagine my surprise when I find out I actually like both of them.
I ... I did not see that coming.
I do not understand the concept of Euro Trucking simulator. I mean, it seems simple, I just can't see how it makes an enjoyable game
Banner Saga is not as long as you'll wish it was, the combat mechanics have just barely enough meat to last the length of the game, and the much talked about "Oregon Trail" style resource management metagame is pretty simplistic and boring.
That said, the game is very beautiful, the world is very interesting, and if you appreciate games that have multiple choice dialogue options with potentially dire consequences, you may appreciate a few gut-punches that can happen during the campaign.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is good times. Especially if you can enjoy listening to some European radio stations. I always tried to tune into whatever was local to where I was currently in the game.
And my coupons are taken. Glad someone could use them!

Thank you very much to all you who volunteered for my avatar makeover proposal for the charity drive!
In order to be sure I will be able to handle the different request/proposals (and to leave some room to other possible goals) I decided to limit it to 6 of you, at least for now.
In case those goals are meet we can consider adding more of them
The Summer Charity drive is ongoing, heading for the Friday, 10am ET closing bell.
We could use some more stretch goals. Jump in and offer up your services or your soul for the betterment of sick kids lives!
Also, there are games within games, people!
1) SUPER IMPORTANT match going on right now. @kaliyama is encouraging small donations -- $20 and under -- by matching the next 25 that come. Your money is doubled right now!
2) @The Brayster's has a Sonic tourney coming up. $10 donation to enter. I'll let him give details.
3) @akajaybay's has a game and giftcard ($50 Steambux) drawing for donors. Look for his details.
4) Any donation gets you an entry into @SanderJK's drawing for Divinity games, including the amazing looking Original Sin which releases 6/30. He's got details somewhere.
5) Incredible streaming marathons coming up this weekend by @CorriganX, @SmokeStacks, @Krummith, @Jeix and @Berylline (with bonus bunnies)! Donations of $5-15 get to assign hours to the combatants, er, I mean participants! Look for CorriganX's post for details.
6) COOKIES! The real, eating kind. Anyone who donates between 6:30am 6/25 ET and the end of the drive will be entered into a drawing for real cookies from the Cookie Brigade. Details.
7)Avatar makeovers! People who donate between Wednesday 7:00 PM GMT and the end of the charity drive will be able to propose and/or vote an avatar compositions for the following volunteers if their respective stretch goals are reached. The volunteers will use their new avatar for at least 1 month.
ETS2 is one of those things that don't make sense until you try it. It's relaxing, in a way, and there's progression too.
Pretty much this. It is relaxing and I seem to like simulations where a little business is thrown in as well. And the progression is there too.
Besides - when I was a young lad, driving one of those things was my dream job. Thankfully I grew out of that dream, but there is a certain nostalgia to it.
I've started and restarted Secret World three times I think, never quite getting out of Kingsmouth. I'll play the game for a while, feel really into it, and then drop off. Then when I get the urge to play again, I fire it up and am immediately disgusted by my old character not being as pretty as I remembered, requiring a remake. My urge to play is rising again, so I foresee this cycle possibly repeating.
Question! I see that this mega pack includes Issues #5, #6, and #7, but that seems like a weird place to jump in. What's up with Issues #1-4?

Is Banner Saga anything like King of Dragon Pass? That game ate my life on iPhone last year, and I'd love to dig into something similar. Currently trying to work out if I want to grab it or hold off in case Broken Age goes to 50% off or more, since either of the two is probably going to mark the end of the sale for me.
Yeee....ees?
I'd say it's closer to Oregon Trail + your tactics game of choice + vikings, but KoDP is also similar, especially in the way the choose-your-own-adventure events play out.
Many times, in battles, you have the option of taking your leaders into the thickest part of the fighting, which makes your individual combat harder but makes the whole thing easier on your (abstracted) army combat, which has parallels in KoDP as well.
They both share the whole food management aspect to it - KoDP is a bit more detailed (with pigs (?) vs. cows vs. farms, contrasted with Banner Saga's more generic "supplies").
So, yeah - there are some good similarities, but TBS isn't exactly like KoDP.
Why am I not surprised Elvenshae likes KODP. Not the same as he notes, but between TBS and Broken Age, go with TBS.
Also you can play KODP on your computer, which IMO is a much better experience (though it comes with an almost-irresistable ability to save scum)
Thanks for the responses! I'll probably sit on it through at least the next flash sales, but that sounds pretty close to what I hoped the game was. Broken Age is more of a shot in the dark for me, but my wife and I are always hankering for more adventure games.
And I'd heard about KODP being a PC game originally, but I loved being able to pop in and make a few choices whenever I was on the go. It's also a perfect game to play before falling asleep, what with it being slow and methodical and incredibly wordy if you start reading the lore.
ETS2 is relaxing. It's also satisfying when you can finally open up and book it down a straightaway on the highway for a while. You've got to make good time if you want to get paid. Then there's the harrowing curved offramps where you try to slow down and not flip your cargo over. Which side of the road should I be driving on right now? Where on this truck can I affix another 5 massive mirrors? Whoops, speeding ticket. Hey, I like this song whatever the hell it is.

It's mostly that I'm not sure if I should hold out to the last day of the sale or take the plunge now. This sale has made my backlog grow in quite the size and I'm not sure if buying another RPG is a good idea then.
@Dirtyboy has issued a direct challenge to my manhood by gifting me the Deadpool table for Pinball FX2, so Obviously I must go through and destroy all his leaderboard scores on every table
Jokes on you as all my pinball scores are so pathetic you already beat them by just loading the game.
I have no idea how it would sell, but I would absolutely love a Batman '66 themed game using the same quality engine of the Arkham games. I start to get a little bored playing them because they are so dark - it would be amazing to have a bright, ridiculous retro themed game come out at some point.
Only if they get Adam West to do the voice.
(And by the way "bright, ridiculous retro-themed game" pretty much defines Far Cry: Blood Dragon. Among others. Just saying.)
Friends. I require cards 1,2,4,7, and 9. I have an 8 to trade.
Also, how are y'all deciding who to gift to? I want to gift some stuff but I don't know who to even start with. GIFTS!
everyone has their own method re. gifting.
A lot of the gifting here is in retaliation for gifts received in the past, a tit for tat kind of deal.
Others are totally random, picking people on the whims of the dice or the Xth post on Y page or however you prefer to randomise things.
Some gift because of a particular post or avatar or name catches their eye.
Some find gift targets by what they think is funniest.
There is also the "Stacks-on" method where you wait for a gift war to break out and then pick a side to assist.
Some people just want to watch the world burn.
If you really want to gift something, and don't know who to gift to.... maybe run a competition?
Plenty of people enjoy taking part and it can introduce you to a bunch of people you may not have otherwise interacted with.

I would just pick random people on my friend list or by what they would talk about on the forum. After the past 12 months I've had this sale has been a fun, silly, distraction for me. Got to help out some kids and make unknown internet strangers happy. Good times.
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's.
And his hair was perfect.

So basically what we need is a Brave and the Bold open-world game?
I could definitely live with that.
Oh man that would be amazing. Brave & The Bold Aquaman is great, and I need him on my team.
He really is the best Aquaman incarnation. Normal Aquaman is mostly made of stone-cold badass, which can get a bit boring, but BatB Aquaman is just so wonderfully boisterous.
OUTRAGEOUS!
(He's just like the Marvel Comics Hercules, which is an awesome way to go.)
Dead money was taken at a higher level for me so it wasn't quite so bad. Stripped down to weak weapons against a single enemy felt like a challege to my gamer skills. Plus, I was playing on Hard Mode so I felt like I needed a challenge.
I really, REALLY enjoyed the architecture of the environment but not the game design. False paths feel like a betrayal.
If there had been greater options to sneak by the ghosts and unlock secret tunnels, then perhaps the pain would have been less. I ultimately feel that the Sierra Madre would have functioned better as a larger region with the heist's planner unlocking the region for you.
When I looked at the steam metagame totals today, I kept thinking of that scene from the Double Dragon movie where the gangs are attacking the police cruisers screaming, "The truce is over, man! The truce is over, man! The truce is over, man!"
@Drake play mud and blood 2 on Kongregate and tell me if this hive game everyone else is talking about plays the same.

They sort of already did this with the Batman: The Brave and the Bold game. Albeit that was a sidescroller I believe.
This game sounds amazing why is it not on steam

Seeing as how I always play Fallout as a charismatic, science nerd, smooth talking repair expert who rarely fights, Dead Money felt specifically designed to make me fucking miserable.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty

So they must have reset the machine that decides the winner and now Red will win twice because of it. :P

Pretty princess dress-up is the most difficult challenge in all of video games. I spent like half an hour making a character, only to realize that he looks like a grumpy dumbass in most normal lighting.

Go to the page for a game. It will tell you whom on your friends list wishes for it. Attack.
I just sent you a friend request. I have card four. Assuming it will let me trade (I'm new) it's yours.
