I kind of just broke my brain realizing they have to have people at valve that plan and craft the sale event. And that, that is something I could potentially be qualified to do! Now I want to do that.
I was going to do a run down of what I bought, but haha no. Just the list of my stuff is too long and honestly, I don't remember which games I gifted to whom other than for the most part they were on their wishlists.
I am very thankful for all gifts given.
@Invisible
Good news. You can go to the steam page, open your inventory, click on "More", click on gift history! It only shows who you gifted to though.
I usually do a recap post (and it's usually ludicrously long because monsters), but this morning after two weeks of desperate attempts to change the inevitable, I had to take my cat in to the vet to be put to sleep. Right now my heart is breaking and I don't have it in me to sift through emails/records and write up a proper tally.
Gonna echo the other folks saying how sorry I am to hear it. I was the one to take my niece's cat in earlier in the year to be put to sleep (it was living with us full-time, she lives with us part time...long story). It was insanely hard to do - I'm way too soft when it comes to animals and it hit me really hard. Having to break the news to the kids (especially her) was almost as bad as being there too. I hope you feel better soon.

This was my first Steam sale and I had a blast. I got to help some kids. I made a lot of new friends. I bought a bunch of games for myself and gave away a bunch to others. I had some classy muthas gift me a lot of games. Now for a bonus I get to watch people descend into madness from a lack of sleep while playing video games. Good times. A+++++++ corner of the internet, would Steam again.
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's.
And his hair was perfect.

Having only really been on Steam during this sale it is really weird to not have the front page be all ridiculous sales.

Seriously, this is good advice that I've never heeded. Think I might actually do it this time. Put a little bit in the Steam wallet each paycheck, try not to spend along the way, and then have second mini savings account to blow on games next time around! I'm doing it. Or I'm going to try to remember to do it, anyway.

By the way--I've been dropping in on the stream when I can, and you streamers are doing an excellent job. Keep it up!
I only just bought my first gaming PC a couple of months ago, so as a result I'm still working through a fairly huge (100+) backlog from various bundles I've bought down the years, but I added the following to my collection in the latest sale.
Final Fantasy VII
Papers, Please
The Witcher
Gone Home
With what I've already got, it should be enough to keep me going until the next sale!
Xbox Live - Jammers007
Nintendo Network ID - Jammers007
3DS - 1418-6751-8378
Steam - Jammers007
Oh my god, I just noticed my signature says I've put 52 hours into TSW since I bought it....on like Thursday or Friday. Maybea day or two earlier, I honestly have no idea. It's been a Lovecraftian blur of awesomeness since then, so my sense of time is all fucked up.

My one regret for this sale is not picking up YNAB, not because we necessarily need it but rather that it would be nice to have something a little 'cooler' than what's currently being used (Excel). Card sales provided some fun pickups like Marlow Briggs, Super Amazing Wagon Adventure, and Long Live the Queen. E is for Elodie who can't freaking win the naval battle arrrrrgh.
Thanks to @JaysonFour for Disciples II: Gallean's Return.
Play eeet! Such an absurdly good game. It's really disappointing where they went wrong with 3, though I have yet to load up Reincarnation, which supposedly returns it a lot to 1/2 style gameplay and less HoMM cloneage.
My only real regret of the sale is missing Betrayer as a flash/community vote sale for $3. I am super intrigued by it. Although in truth I can't tell how enjoyable it actually is to play because I can only even find two Let's Play videos of it and both of them seem to have been abandoned in about the same spot roughly an hour in (which I guess may not be a good sign).

Paranoia (I really want to run this, but I don't know how to run this without doing a PbP).
D&D 5th Edition.
Star Wars: Edge of the Empire (potentially Age of Rebellion either)
A Song of Ice and Fire RPG
I could potentially do pathfinder too, I've been considering learning it for a while. All of these options (bar Paranoia) are easily run using Roll20, where I have a mentor subscription (No adverts, advanced features, YAY).
If anyone has any other suggestions for RPGs to run, let me know.
If anyone would like to know more about any of the RPGs, let me know, I'll expand upon them.
Information on how the RPG will be run:
The RPG will be run in one of two ways, Roll20 or Play by Post (PbP).
Roll20:
Roll20 is a website dedicated to running RPG's online. IT features a grid system which allows the DM and Players to use maps and tokens to keep a visual track of the action. There's some nifty features, especially for a group with a DM that has a mentor subscription. This method will require the use of a microphone, and everyone will need to be able to sit and play for multiple hours in one sitting for this to work.
Play by Post:
Using the Critical Failures section of these very forums, PbP is a process by which a player indicates their dialogue and action taken in posts. The DM will post narrative, action consequences and anything regarding NPCs. Each player, unless otherwise indicated, will post once between posts from the DM. The upside of this method is that playing is at the personal convenience of everyone, you don't need to take a massive chunk out of your day to play and you don't need to worry about stuff going on at home in the background spoiling things for others - you just check back to the game once/twice a day. The downside is that it is missing the personal touch many people enjoy in their RPGs.
Info regarding the RPGs themselves:
Dungeons and Dragons - a fairly straightforward affair as far as tabletop RPGs go, this is the one most people think of when the subject is mentioned. Medieval Fantasy. Players roll any dice from a D4 to a D20 to determine actions and combat effectiveness. I imagine most of you know this. (Roll20 or PbP)
Star Wars: Edge of the Empire - who doesn't like Star Wars? Sequel Trilogy era gameplay, all players are individuals concerned with business outside of the reach of the Galactic Empire. This is the game for Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Explorers, Outcasts, Ace Pilots and other individuals not typically found in the core worlds. The typical numbered dice system is replaces by dice specific to the game - Your raw attributes grant you a certain number of Green Dice, your training offers you a certain number of Yellow Dice. These feature successes. Roll these against purple and black dice, featuring failures, depending on the difficulty of the task/combat at the time. Remove failures from successes, and boom, that's your result. Much blaster fire and space combat to be had. (Roll20 only).
A Song of Ice and Fire - You like Game of Thrones? You'll love this. Very similar system to D&D. The novelty of this is that players together create a house of Westeros (including sigil and house words). All players then take a role in said house (Anything from the Heir or a Knight to the Kennelmaster or Scullery Maid). Much Intrigue. Much death. Much fun. (Roll20 or PbP)
Paranoia - I would LOVE to run this. Paranoia is the perfect game for those new to tabletop RPGs or those who just enjoy a good laugh/ interparty chaos. Set in a Cold-War inspired future where all humans live underground in a city run by 'The Computer'. You don't know the rules? No problem! In fact, the game system encourages the players not to know what the hell is going on. In fact, demonstration of knowledge of what's going on indicates you've been reading about your clearance level citizen. Report to termination booth X for biological reassignment.
Players are low-level grunts tasked with completing hilariously difficult missions and hunting down traitors. Especially hunting down traitors. Problem is, all the players are traitors, belonging to different underground groups. None are sure what the others are. But all will be rewarded for revealing evidence of a traitor in their midst.
Do you like fancy weapons? Good! The R&D department would like you to test some new gadgets for them! This here is a bazooka that fires guns that fire incendiary rounds. Would you field test for us? It's perfectly safe!
I'm half tempted to write a whole god-damned post solely about this because I love everything about it. (PbP only) (Roll20 possible, but I'm having difficulty working out how I'd run it on the site (it isn't officially supported, it'll require some creativity on my part)

I must say, it was amusing to watch this and see a sudden game of Rock Paper Scissors pop up when the two characters/PCs disagreed on how to deal with a situation. Nice touch on the developers part.
Well I've been spending the last couple of days trying to catch up on this thread. Apparently it's frowned upon if I stand in the park reading the forums while my 3 and 1 year old kids throw themselves down the slide.
At any rate, I crafted my last summer badge and have a couple cards leftover for anyone interested...
And it appears that they actually removed any leftover summer cards this time around. Interesting. I bet there were some angry people after that.

Thank you PAGT for being such a great community! Oh, and can't forget the charity. You all are awesome!
I must say, it was amusing to watch this and see a sudden game of Rock Paper Scissors pop up when the two characters/PCs disagreed on how to deal with a situation. Nice touch on the developers part.

At any rate, I crafted my last summer badge and have a couple cards leftover for anyone interested...
And it appears that they actually removed any leftover summer cards this time around. Interesting. I bet there were some angry people after that.
