I really really wish the animal crossing 3ds came with a physical copy rather than digital.
why?
Diff'rent strokes for different folks.
For somebody like me, having a digital copy tied to one 3DS means I can't transfer the game between my 3DS systems and have to use the one it's digitally tethered to. If something happens to that 3DS and I decide to hold off on fixing it (because getting it fixed isn't cheap), I can't remove the data and play it on the other 3DS like I could if I had a physical cartridge.
Digital/cloud storage is going to start edging out people like me who enjoy having the physical copy, but it's still in the infancy stage where it isn't performing that well and has a lot of problems still attached to its nubile phase.
I kind of like having the digital copy so if I have my 3ds and decide I want to play something different I don't have to go all the way into my room to get it
But then some of my fav games are not digital
I purchased the digital copy, because I knew my 3DS would be an Animal Crossing machine. Mario Tennis was purchased on cartridge, because I thought that would be a game I would only want to play sometimes.
It may soon become an Animal Crossing / Smash Brothers machine.

Having a digital copy means you can't misplace the game unless you misplace the whole 'console' (I guess handheld would be a better descriptor, but it also applies to WiiU/X1/PS4).
Digital will be the way of the future, I'm sure, but the restrictions currently on the consoles that won't let you freely transfer your game data between another is silly.
Digital rules alienate the minority, which I happen to be a part of, but I can foresee digital/cloud games to be used frequently in the future. (Though, that won't stop me from taking pride in having the box art and a display shelf of all the games I'm proud to own, kinda like a trophy shelf.)
Hmm, I would love to take her, but I'm actually full at the moment. I'll see if I can TT and chase someone out before then.
Thanks again for that last batch, by the way. I'll try to open up again tonight while I'm still in January so you can get your blowfish.
Ooh, and if you come across a giraffe tee, I'm still lacking one in Omnar2's touch-only pile (http://moridb.com/catalogs/BrKGwao8G4)
There are other things I need, but they aren't labeled for a month, so I assume either they appear year-round or are simply not labeled properly.
Giraffe tee purchased. I won't be on tomorrow but should be able to deliver it sometime Wednesday.
I got some other items in Omnar1 (thanks to finally finishing my grinding of island medals to finally get the gold badge, and I only have the streetpass gold badge left to strive for) for the Omnar2 touch-only pile. Just a few Gracie items left to fill that section up.
After that is done, I suppose I should focus on making sure I have all the Sahara carpets and wallpapers, which means I'm going to have to rearrange some things since I didn't leave room for that area to grow, but it won't be too hard.
Congrats on reaching your penultimate gold! I've still got 4 left to get but I'm getting close to all of them. Next one should be the fishing badge - got around 800 left.
You have to admire the scientific dedication that went into compiling that list. Also it must have been a fun day at Nintendo when they brainstormed it in the first place.
Nope! All done and got me a Lily Gramophone. Still chasing that weeding badge after all this time eh?
Yup.
If you decide that more time travel would make your life complete, I would appreciate the chance to pull your weeds.
Well one of the reasons I drifted away was grumpiness over missing the Mitten Crab during its 2013 season. And I just fished up one today. So I do time travel, but apparently only the really long way around.
Quick question on in-game time. I just bought this digitally this weekend but thus far haven't done much except get a tent and talk to a few villagers and sit in the mayor chair. The problem being I'm a night owl and often can't play until after everything has closed for the day.
Does the time in this game exist independently of my 3DS clock? Is there a place to change the time so I can make my night it's day or do I just set my system clock?

Will this cause problems if I play online?
Talking to Isabelle before loading up your town will let you change the clock to whatever you want. You could also adjust your system clock but this way won't affect anything else that cares about the clock.
Eventually you'll have the option to put your town on a later schedule, but this is just as easy. It will not cause online problems except in rare turnip-related cases.

I would suggest changing the system clock. Just be sure to keep time moving forwards, and not to travel backwards in the game.
I do not think changing the system clock will cause any problems if playing online. So far as I know, the game does not check some centralized official clock, and penalize you if there is a time discrepancy. At least, I have never noticed any such event.
Thanks - I'll give it a week to figure out when I'm most likely to play and find an appropriate time to set the clock to. I played today during lunch too. What a relaxing game...except when I went to introduce myself to the new villager and it was a clown sheep...that was a slight shock.

Edit: I don't know whether to give myself points or deduct points for knowing that the name, "Cullen", is a part of the Twilight series.
Edit2: If I had an artistic bone in my body, I'd have edited "Chadder" to say "Bella".

Why do you keep doing this?
I only buy low so I don't get screwed that bad if she doesn't go that high at all that week
I just did a massive culling on my friend's list. I made sure to add everyone that is "new"
I'm going to get back in to the habit of opening up overnight for visitors.

To be fair, though, Joan only sells between 90 and 110 bells/turnip on Sunday. Reese rarely sells in that range, and is usually either around the 50's-60's or the 130's-150's (and large spikes anywhere from 300's to 600).

Unfortunately there are some names on my friends list that I am pretty sure are from these boards, but they aren't on our list from last year and so I can't confirm

I remember there were some friends of forumers whose codes were posted, and a few spouses.
If you want to post the names on your list of which you are unsure, I can check my friends list to see if I have them. If we both have them, they're probably from these forums.
@_J_ thanks for the offer! I really wish there was a way to put a note on these accounts

Yeah. That's a thing. Pretty sure we discussed that at some point...but maybe we didn't.
