I should get it on my Japanese one just to help teach my brother to read Japanese
I rarely get to visit my town so I leave it to my brother but I feel all he does with it is check the turnip prices
I decided to start a new town since I never really sunk enough into the last one. No real goals, just gonna start chipping away at collecting stuff, see what happens. XD
3DS Animal Crossing has Kanji with Furigana (the little romaji written over the kanji so you know how to read it). I think older versions were entirely in katakana but I am not sure.
So how about that Animal Crossing mobile? I was really nervous about it initially, but it looks like it is super fun. It helps that Animal Crossing is the kind of game that I won't mind waiting for daily timers etc., so I doubt I'll ever feel that Microtransaction Pull. Generally for these kinds of games, I still throw a couple bucks in to help support them.
Looks pretty good. But will suffer from the same issue that means I've barely scratched the surface of Mario Run. Always on internet connection needed and my work has terrible mobile coverage.
I gotta say, I was kinda surprised at how much of a full-fledged Animal Crossing game this seems to be. When Nintendo were initially talking about it, they said that it would link up to a "proper" AC game, but there wasn't any mention of that in the Direct. I guess it was initially planned to link up with New Leaf after the Welcome amiibo update, but Nintendo probably ditched that idea. With a Switch Animal Crossing game still likely a ways off, they probably retooled the mobile game into what we now know as Pocket Camp.
Mobile Animal Crossing sounds like an addiction waiting to happen.

To be honest, it's maybe too much Animal Crossing from what I see. I'm worried it may be a little overwhelming for a mobile game. But we'll see I guess.
Sat down with the wife, a Animal Crossing uberfan, to watch the direct and midway through she lamented that she wasn't feeling the app and was afraid that maybe she was growing out of it.
By the end she tapped her arm with two fingers and proclaimed "Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in!"

I'm down with this, but it looks like it will be a wait heavy game. That pool in the video took 3 days in real time to build. I'm used to waiting, but damn that is a long time.

But as someone who yesterday was fully prepared for an Animal Crossing phone game to be a glorified Miitomo, I’ve been surprised by how much of an Animal Crossing game Pocket Camp has turned out to be.
A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
As long as Pocket Camp doesn't feel exploitative I don't mind waiting for stuff. If they are constantly like "You could buy...buy something! BUY!" while I try to play then no.

Hmm. You link your My Nintendo account to it, right? So you could theoretically swap over to the Aussie App Store, install it, and then switch to the US version when it comes out without losing progress?
Edit: Nope! Your My Nintendo account region is taken into effect, and if you swap it around you'll lose your save. They're onto our tricks!
The lack of decent mobile signal in my workplace taunts me. Seems to come and go with the wind and will often taunt you with a fictitious 1 bar of data signal that disappears the moment you try to connect to it.

I grabbed this game on my Japanese 3DS as a bit of language practice on the side and it is like falling in love all over again.

Pfft, like I don't know what to do with bacon.
Is it Hiragana? Rōmaji?

Weird release day, but having it out there for Thanksgiving feels like the right move.

Edit: wait, I never linked a Nintendo account. If I wait and link a NA nintendo account, will that still work? Questions...
..but the servers are down.
Finally a use for all those Platinum MyNintendo points!
I'm on iOS and I checked the shop first thing this morning and didn't see it.
Edit: Nevermind, found it on iOS. I was just too early in my checking this morning.
