Platinum Games cannot do bad games, Korra fucking owns, THIS SHIT IS HYPE LEVEL OMEGA
revengeance had a short dev cycle and it fucking owned - even with the short dev cycle this is getting, platinum are sure to produce something fucking sweet.
yes demon with platinum animators and source animation of such ridiculously high quality this shit is going to be the series tie in game that actually fucking ROCKS
This could have won E3 for me. I was going through Legend of Aang wondering if there were any good games for it and thinking how the Avatar universe could so easily be a good game setting.
And Platinum developing? I'm in. I'm so far in, I'm up to my neck like Sokka.
I just hope Activision doesn't fuck it up somehow. But I love how Platinum seems to be getting some recognition now. First Scaleborn for XB1 and now this.
I suddenly get a mental picture of people knocking on the doors and windows of Platinum pointing at storyboards and concepts of the game they want to make and asking:
"Hey...Hey...Psst! Um.... Can you make it fight good?"
No waaaaaaaay. Surely this is some sort of elaborate ruse!
I am actually struggling to accept it. I am half expecting to wake up, then laugh at the absurdity of the dream

that bit where Bei Fong metalbends Bolin's zipper up, clipping the tip of his ding dong, and he makes that little "oo" noise?
That's the only sound I've been able to make for the last hour
It's not sounding like a full on retail release, just downloadable. Given Platinum games are usually a couple hours tops, I'm guessing this will be like 20 minutes long.
I'm also guessing they'll be the most replayable and joyous 20 minutes of game in 2014.
Oh my lord, this is glorious. I never even imagined we'd get a full-scale Korra game, much less one made by an actually good developer.
Okay, Platinum fans wondering what this "Korra" business is, listen up. Nick has all the episodes available for streaming here. The only bad thing is that the episodes are out of order, and the series is very episodic. So go by the episode guide here. And yes, my avatar's from the series.
It's probably the best western action animated series since, well, Avatar, so go watch. Now.
Also, season three starts this Friday!
Wordherder on
Why the crap did I ever make my original name "cloudeagle?"
The one thing that could give the hype train a pause is that that little teaser trailer says "Download this fall" which could imply it's not a full-fledged game like Bayonetta or something, but rather something much smaller.

Yeah. It seems to be a arcade sized game.
Which isn't that bad really.
Vanquish was made in an old school arcade-y fashion so Platinum has experience with it.

Never seen the show, but Platinum does good work, so count me in.
Plus I fucking love this picture. All I hear is a Ric Flair "WOOOOOOoooo"
OH GOD YES.
Its funny because a year ago in the SE++ thread we were talking about how cool it would be if Platinum made a Avatar game.
NO FUCKING WAY
YOU MAGNIFICENT PIECES OF SHIT YEEEEEEEAH
PUT IT IN MY VEINS
How is this a real thing?!
It's a pretty good example of how kid shows don't have to be complete and utter brain dead shite. It oozes quality.
Watch the original Avatar: The Last Airbender series first though, since it's basically god's gift to western animation

The fact that its coming out so soon and being published by Activision worries me.
But Platinum...yyyyaaaaahhhhh!
I want to believe that Platinum would not accept a project if they didn't think they could produce respectable results.
You know who else came out of a rapid development cycle?
SENATOR ARMSTRONG
but oh man who am i kidding i can't believe this is even real life.
