I had the exact same thought when I saw those splashes. Hopefully Riot's smart enough to have them facing off against Cho'gath in the preview stuff.
And I'm all for getting rid of super weeks. It's just too much of a good thing. Also, the shortened downtime between games combined with the increased volume of opponents results in poorer games, since the teams don't have enough time to properly prepare.

I think that the ability to be able to handle multiple teams with varied strategems in the same day well is a good skill to have for teams. I like superweeks.
Plus in playoffs and worlds you don't get a lot of prep time for the other teams you'll face further up the brackets, so being able to practice the organizational skills necesary in the regular season is handy

(Last game ended up having to go top due to no pregame communication. Beat Lulu with Shyvana kind of badly thanks to some Riven ganks. Amusingly, our Blitzcrank called me trash right at the end. I was 5/1/13, had the gold to finish Randuins (already had kingblade, tabi, visage :P), etc.
Edit: Nope. Mid picks Fizz. Enemy mid is Ori. He lets her push him into turret unanswered, blames the jungler for it. Jungler blames him. Then the support Karma (who was doing good work with shields... but then got really aggressive to suicidally so) joins in. God damn solo queue. I wanted to go 3-0 in a single session. Now I'm out of time for playing tonight.
Lost a couple of laser squid scientist games. Still super fun. Also realized that I was playing quite a bit above my mmr due to queueing with a plat friend (who was not playing as carry roles either game--hm), so I feel better. Katarina vs. Vel'koz--great in lane but not fine in teamfights. Also that one game with the Talon jungle along with the Katarina mid--we were winning hard for a while but then the assassination train just got going and never stopped.
Probably going to buy Vel'koz after free week because this is basically exactly what I want a mid mage to do. I just need to learn godlike squiddy positioning.
The one game I played at my soloq mmr, I crushed a mirror matchup Vel'koz. Delightful.
So Lucian's range nerf on the PBE is probably going to kill him as an AD carry, but some of his compensation buffs make me think he's going to turn into a powerful solo laner.
They're raising his base health, movement speed, and damage, they're making his Q deal full damage to minions and reducing its mana costs, lowering his E's cooldown and making it cost no mana and having its cooldown get reduced further after he uses his passive (by four seconds if he uses his passive on an enemy champion!)... Overall it sounds like he might be very difficult for a melee opponent to deal with.
I'm not sure if I even buy that it'll kill him as an AD carry. He's still impossible to beat in most all ins as any other AD carry because his passive and Q make him nightmare mode to trade with. It'll probably kill him in competitive because those people are far better at abusing range, but I'll bet he lives on in bot lane in solo queue.

If they threw some of that love at Graves and Vayne they'd both be utterly terrifying; not sure how that's fair on Lucian instead.

So, Quinn V2.0?
Speaking of, I should start playing this game again soon...

It'll kill him.
Even if most solo queue players aren't technically mechanically skilled enough to take advantage of the 50 range decrease on his auto and Q, the perception that it's a major weakness will put some players off picking Lucian
Bot lane is moving towards long ranged targeted poke (see the continuing dominance of Cait and the increase in Trist, Kog, Nami - probably Sona too once her rework hits), which directly counters a low ranged albeit mobile opponent
Disengage supports are becoming more popular as well, which will hinder his ability to all in
Solo queue players will copy what pro players are doing - if Lucian isn't being played bot lane by pros, he'll stop being played by the average player, even if he's actually okay in the role
If you're disagreeing because some will still play him bot, then fair enough, but that's true for Quinn, Urgot and Jayce as well and none of them are particularly healthy examples of marksdudes.
Just had a ranked game where I picked Fiora to go top or mid and they picked Karthus into it. I just dunno about that. We also had Yi jungle. If you think Yi and me both had double digit kills by the time they surrendered at like 25 minutes then you're right.
Fiora early game all ins > squishy mages.

People have some really odd ideas about what counters what, sometimes. Not sure what else there is to say about that.
Most people are going to assume Fiora is either top or jungle. Same goes for Jarvan.
Nah, our Yi and Mundo picks were already locked too, so the guy had to know it was mid Fiora or Yi. Both of whom you should not pick Karthus into. Honestly, there aren't a lot of picks people take mid I'm not confident in dominating in lane as Fiora. I don't know why I don't play it more honestly.
Fiora mid seems like she'd be really vulnerable to jungle camping. 1-2 successful ganks will basically take her out of the game, and even failed ganks that get a flash or deal some damage will make it much harder for her to successfully all-in her opponent.

Every mid without an in built escape is susceptible to ganks. She's an AD mid, and she's no more vulnerable to ganks than pre 6 Talon or most AP mids who don't have escapes. But her double dash means you can't even get near the creep wave without being in her threat range.
Saying "If the jungler 2v1s you it will be bad" applies to almost every mid. Their Vi tried coming mid on me, but if you just watch how your lane opponent plays and pay attention you can almost always see it coming.
It only took me 118 games to get back after going on a huge loss streak through my placements and my first dozen or so games, which put me in Silver 5 after being in Gold IV at the end of the season.
I'm now wondering if I can continue my success with Warwick and Zyra all the way to plat.

I tried to Warwick, and I just don't understand him. He seems simple enough, but I feel like I have no presence. At least compared to Udyr (who I understand is also not very good for being present). Vi's been doing good work for me though.

I think that's Heimerdinger and Ziggs in Mechamalphite, fwiw.

Same deal here. Unlocked Pantheon and his awesome dragonslayer skin thanks to the most excellent @skyknyt
If anyone wants to try this code on EU send me a PM and I'll give it to the first person to PM me. Once I've given the code out I'll edit this post.

ww jungle on our team (usually this makes me sad because in low gold ww jungle = power farm and ignore lanes for 20 min)
this one built ff, spirit stone, and quill coat, and then we baroned as a team at 15 min
and then rolled around, knocking down 4 towers and a dragon
a jungle-focused jungler who actually controls buffs I am shock
So the jungle monster damage on those three items stack?
That's interesting
yeah as far as I know, they all have unique passives
maim on ff and butcher on the stone, and then whatever the new one is on quill

Please don't get the mermaid nerfed, she's the only support I enjoy playing currently

Oh no. I had too much hubris when I took her top lane. The nerfs are incoming

If you have those, another rune page maybe.
Or champs that for the role(s) you enjoy but don't have.

Like I'm fine with other TF ADCs, and I'm fine with ADCs without escapes.
But something about Kog just ruins my ability to play. I don't know what it is.
I guess I'll just stick to Cait/Trist/Ez
Main problem is that I have pritty much every champ just missing a few I'm not getting like Teemo, and isn't the max amount of run pages 10?

Ew. Just remembered I had a dream I was playing Kog.
