It only took me 118 games to get back after going on a huge loss streak through my placements and my first dozen or so games, which put me in Silver 5 after being in Gold IV at the end of the season.
I'm now wondering if I can continue my success with Warwick and Zyra all the way to plat.
I tried to Warwick, and I just don't understand him. He seems simple enough, but I feel like I have no presence. At least compared to Udyr (who I understand is also not very good for being present). Vi's been doing good work for me though.
Udyr and Skarner are my main jungle champs, and I rarely like to pull out Warwick. I just won a ranked game with him, but as with all games where you play Warwick, I feel like you're extremely reliant on your team to let you get strong before losing.
I feel like pre 6 the enemy has to be way too agro and stupid to die to a Warwick gank. Post 6 the ganks are obviously nice, but I feel like I need Feral Flare stacked, BotRK, and then also tank items before I feel like i'm very impactful.
Contrast that with Skarner who now ganks much better pre 6, having a stun, or Udyr who farms so well he becomes as strong as a solo laner and can get into lanes in a hurry having basically a near permanent ghost on.
Or like you mentioned, Vi is another option for a jungler who can suppress, but who also does more damage and can gank early game if needed.
Just won my last game of a promo in such a hard game, lol. I'm Skarner. I have a top Olaf who picked it to counter Riven. Well he hits 2 first and gets Riven to like 5 health. She has to b but instead of just backing and teleporting back in full and ready to leverage his advantage, he just dies to Elise with doubles. Then he doesn't ward and she just camps him and he dies again. Then a 3rd time. He's getting so worked up at me about it and I told him man just ward, I told you i'd come get you back into it but you gotta let me work through the jungle first.
The Elise to her credit built tank and did the best she could, and their mid Vel'koz put in insane work. But Skarner + Leona + our carries(Akali and Jinx) getting very strong meant eventually in a very close game where we were down 2 inhibs to 0 for them we pulled off a couple fights and just won the game.

Edit early gank from panth sends yi two levels up didn't die tho..
Edit 2: Yi did as yi do and crushed most of the down, took 2 inhibs and both nexus turrets, then they went for baron and got crushed since aoe dmg op, and we rush and won woohoo!

Our Kass and Yorick agreed to swap lanes... and the enemy Talon mid was something crazy like all MR runes. Yorick devoured him. Kass beat up Nasus hard. We won handily.

Does anybody else just feel sad watching Gambit now? It's like watching an aging prizefighter strap on gloves for a fight that you know he isn't going to win.
niQ is basically the only professional on the team now. Genja and Edward are the worst bot lane in the world and you have two solo queue guys in top and jungle. I think that they're going to get relegated.
On a somewhat related note, does anybody think that EG may have been better off if they stayed in Europe?
I kind of felt like this season was kind of like a victory lap for the EG guys before they retired. Would they rather be winning? Sure, but they're making more money and making more eSports business connections than they did back in the CLG.EU days.

Nah, you'll still be able to giftbomb if you barter for piles from people that didn't want them like I did. You just won't be able to brute force or keygen PAX Jax codes or whatever the baddies were doing.
EDIT: this is because the ones that they hand out nowadays have a built in expiration for four days after the con. the old ones never expired (until yesterday).
People should still be able to do it in the week after events, like @skyknyt's done with his. They're just bringing all of the old codes up to the current standard.
God, I swore I was done with ARAM forever. But nope, played another pointless game of it. Enemy team is Lux, Ziggs, Fid, Caitlyn and Blitz. My team is 5 shorter ranged squishies with one piece of CC between them.

1) Maokai and any other tanky jungler should still be wary of first picking that stuff if the other guy is ready and willing to get up in your ass early and often, never mind ancient golem.
2) Don't build Ancient Golem on Udyr.
After the other guy picked Maokai, I decided to go with the old Udyr and instead of going madstone and farming hard for feral stacks and doing a 6 minute dragon and what not like I normally would, I'd try out ancient golem on Udyr, just go more tanky, but focus on counter jungling. I went my red->his red, which is insanely easy now because everybody has to do a camp between their 2 buffs now to wait on smite. Maokai even sees that i'm there and we do a little dance, neither of our tops/mids comes to help us, but instead of giving it up he thinks he's going to tank it and smite it in front of my face? I don't know what the hell he was thinking, but of course I first blooded him with some fire after we both flashed, and it was on. I took about 80% of his buffs throughout laning phase. I didn't really gank much, just farmed and pushed side lanes hard as hell to keep the map in our favor at all times.
Ended up 2/0/13, but fuck doing no damage like I was with an ancient golem/iceborne/sunfire cape/giant's belt build. I feel nearly as tanky with my feral/iceborne/tanky build as I did with this one, and do a ton more damage. Not to mention the health sustain from the ancient golem sucks dick compared to madstone so there was once that I couldn't do dragon because I was at like 60% after scrapping in a lane and doing some camps.
Ugh, sure is fun when your jungle quits at 3 minutes vs a feral flare yi jungle.

You can do Ancient Golem still just fine on Udyr. The point of that build is entirely not to farm but to gank, gank, gank. You have conservation, use it. Counterjungling is fine but get your lanes to win first.
You don't even build half tank items like Iceborne/Sunfire, only if you're massively ahead. Build pure tank items like SV/Randuin's instead and be actual unkillable god and do your damage through longevity. You're in the build in the first place because you believed you couldn't farm hard enough to get over FF's early hump.

They set a record for longest nalcs match, possibly longest competitive match, and robertxlee now has the nalcs cs record. Good job whoever has him in fantasy.
That actually was a pretty poor fantasy game for the players involved, since there were so few kills. Robert's CS record is only worth 7.19 points on its own. He was 3/4/4, so he only got 17.19 points for that entire 80 minute affair. A decent score, but not as earth-shattering as you'd think.
