A PC release was pretty much guaranteed, but I'm super relieved to hear about the simultaneous release. Now I can take all the money saved from not buying a PS4 and put it toward maxing out and foiling my Grim Fandango Steam badge.
Every time I see the splash logo for Alien: Isolation, all I can think is that I want an Alien sequel in the style of Alien starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Then I remember what they did with The Thing. And she was in that. Stupid good ideas ruined by actualized bad ideas.
Looks like I'm buying The Wolf Among Us when I get home. I loved Walking Dead, but I had never heard of this Fables thing or whatever it is. Tycho's front page post makes it sound so great though, AND it's on sale.
But seriously, how am I supposed to play all these games? SPAZ, SR3, Sunless Sea, and now Wolf Among Us? Geez.

The Wolf Among Us is Telltale's proof that their adventure game construct can work just as well in a dark noir setting as anything the Walking Dead has done. It's one of my favorite games of the year, for sure, and I haven't even played the last chapter yet.

Shit. I'm currently playing for the first time and was really hoping that in a rant on spoilers that would've been at least misdirection and ideally total fabrication. Apparently not. Awesome.
Sorry, man. I was hoping it was an oversight that would be promptly edited when noted, but I should have PMed instead to preserve the benefit of the doubt.

Or better, from the sounds of TWD S2 and Wolf.

TWD s02 started out slower than Wolf, but it has grown into a great story, too. It uses fewer heart string-tugging tricks that the first season used, and relies more on the quality of a really great cast of characters, which of course takes a little time to percolate.

I'm waiting on seeing how part 4 turns out before passing judgement on Season 2 being better or worse.

Yep, still on the fence here, but episodes 2 and 3 definitely picked things up a lot and I'm really liking a lot of the characters. It also all feels more connected than s01. I hope they bring it home well.

Nice, just snagged that. You can revoke the rights of the app though, so I figure I'll let them play for a bit then drop it. To be fair, I doubt I'll be giving the game enough attention to feel bad. Unless it's, you know, good. Then it'll just go to my (really large) backlog:
Antichamber
Avadon: The Black Fortress
Bastion
Breath of Death VII
Crysis / Warhead
Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil
Fallout: New Vegas
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Legend of Grimrock
Magicka
Mark of the Ninja
Monaco
Resonance
Shadowrun Returns
Sniper Elite V2
Space Hulk
Star Ruler
KOTOR 2
Strike Suit Infinity / Zero
The Swapper (in the middle of it now)
Sword of the Stars: The Pit
Teleglitch
Trine 2
And then there's the stuff I have on PS+ that I have to/want to play through.

I've been hearing for a long time how awesome grim fandago is. Excited I'll finally get to play it. Is this the original? Or has it been remastered? Or even better do we get both versions like secret of monkey island?

It's going to be a remaster of some sort, but we really have no idea to what extent they're taking that idea. Hopefully we get to see something of it soon!

She was probably the best part of that movie, and yes, MEW needs to be in more stuff.
On the subject, I love spoilers, so if anyone ever wants to spoil some shit when talking about a game, please don't hesitate to PM me. I prefer it so much over going into a game/book/movie totally blind. It's like getting to see/read/play it for the second time, the first time. And the second time through is always more enjoyable, for me, at least. Knowing what's coming increases my enjoyment because anticipation is so much more exciting than obliviousness.
But yeah, I know not everyone feels that way, so I try to limit that stuff when talking about things publicly, although I do like to talk about tone and themes because I feel that stuff is usually vague enough that the only people who could piece it together and be "spoiled" are people who have already played it and have a baseline of familiarity, leaving people who have never played a game still pretty well in the dark, if they happen to read through it for some reason.
I always read the beginning and ending 5 pages of a book to see how it starts and ends. If I don't like the beginning or ending, that book is not read.
I'm sure this makes me miss books that others call wonderful, but it's my criteria, and it's how I do things.

Any advice for a lousy XCOM: Enemy Within player? I'm just in the second or third month on Normal, but after a couple of crippling defeats, I'm probably going to restart. (RIP Greta 'Jack' Bauer, 23 confirmed kills)
I'm generally bankrupting myself trying to build satellites and arrays to help placate countries so they don't go dark. This leads to not having enough money to build other things like the alien containment. I usually do OK in fights, but the first terror mission did not go well at all. Chrysalid zombie OHKO'd my 2nd most experienced soldier.
Any early game stuff I should be doing? Build research labs? Fast-track certain research? Transfer interceptors to other countries? Certain equipment/classes/abilities for my soldiers? Something else?
Is there any way to break games off from the bundle and gift them to others? Cause there's a few in the 2K Bundle I already have that I'd just give away if it's possible.
I have the most fun in online gaming when I play with PA Bros(tm) so don't hesitate to hit me up should you want to play something we've both got.
I haven't played much of XCOM multiplayer but don't let the fact that I've logged over 300 hours into the game deter you. I have a wide selection of lube and a choice of pillows for biting down onto. (Seriously though if you want to learn XCOM multiplayer tacticool tactics I'll be happy to walk through 'em)
@HeirTransparent, early game you should always, always, always make sure you've got another satellite up in the air by the end of the month. At least one. You need the monies. Also, don't be afraid to lose a country or two if things aren't going well, focus on supporting stuff you're not going to lose. I'll not go into other tips about future missions lest I spoil stuff, but if you want me to elaborate I'll add an extra post and tag it appropriately.

I can say for sure that the $1 tier allows you to gift out all 3 games separately.

So just buy it as normal and I could steam-gift them? Or would I need to just basically mail people the keys?

Oh, really? When I buy a new book, I read the last page first. That way, in case I die before I finish, I know how it ends. That, my friend, is a dark side.

I try not to spoiler thing for myself, but honestly, I'm so impatient that if the build up goes too long I just wiki it so I don't get frustrated. Honestly, not a Steam game, I'm glad I spoiled a certain plot point for myself in Persona 4 Golden or I might have put my vita into the closet and never touched it again when it happened. Like Joey putting scary books in the freezer.

I have too many games and not enough time as it is, but whenever people start talking about certain games I always want to replay them. In this case it's bioshock.

If we're talking about Bioshock, Bioshock 2 would be the game with replayability and not Bioshock 1. While the first game was awesome when it came out and has the better story, 2 has the better gameplay, plasmids, guns, level design, etc, which makes it more replayable for me.

Well, if I had played that before SR4 had been released, the SR4 development of the Boss's abilities wouldn't have surprised me.
Still, a fun distraction for about 30 to 45 minutes.

Then again, that's the reason I have a throwaway Facebook account... and maybe twitter now, too.
But I already own that game (It's awesome!)
Yeah, just use a throwaway account. And like Fawst mentioned, you can revoke the permissions right after.
