It's not the worst problem in the world to have too much to do in a game, but for the sake of immersion and pacing there are some good mods I can recommend (MCM required):

Timing is Everything - allows adjusting when certain quests become available based on character level and progress in the main storyline
Thieves Guild Requirements - only get invited to the thieves guild if you are actually a thieving type (reqs adjustable)
The Choice is Yours - prevents a lot of quests getting stuffed into your log against your will

So, I managed to contract vampirism pretty early in (level 10). What's the easiest way to get rid of it?

Full on vampirism or just sanuinare vampiris? The latter can be cured very easily with a cure disease potion or by using a shrine. If it's actual vampirism, do this.

Not quite sure. I've been in two vampire dens (Bloodlet Throne and Hamael's Shame). I got a notification that the sun was coming up and that I felt weaker. Is there a way to check?

Go to your active effects in your magic menu. If you see Sanguinare Vampiris with the description "Reduces Health by 25. Progresses to Vampirism", you still have time to use a potion of cure disease or to pray at a shrine. If you see a frost resist and fire weakness effect saying "your vampiric blood gives you a resistance/weakness to frost/fire", then you are a vampire. Talk to an innkeeper and ask about rumors to start the vampire cure quest.

Also check to see if you can enter someone's house uninvited, if you're suddenly unable to make yourself cross bridges over rivers, and if trying to pick up garlic makes you nauseated. There are no mirrors in Tamriel so that removes the easiest way of finding out, but those first ones should still work.

The way diseases and cures work in Skyrim, I always feel a little foolish if I don't just run off and get cured whenever vampirism pops up. Like... I actively have to want to be a vampire to ignore the signs for three whole days, rather than take advantage of the many cures presenting themselves before me every few minutes.

  • BionicPenguinBionicPenguin Registered User regular
Seriously. How often does someone go three days without coming across a shrine? You can even find one in some bandit forts.

So, decided to install the creation kit to take a peek at Hearthfire stuff to maybe attempt that mod I was asking about, and I think I can see why nobody's tried it yet. Unless there's an easy way to separate out which bits are tied to what constructed wing.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Oh god i'm in some real trouble here.

Alternate Start has a new option for Nords- starting as Erik the Slayer's childhood friend. That combined with the Take Notes mod I have installed probably means i'm going to get pretty deep into this again with this character.

That's why you get a mod that adds actual medicine, and removes shrine healing.

Suddenly this vampire bite is a bit worrying.

There are mods that upgrade leveled rewards with you as you level, or ones that just make quests give you the best reward possible. I forget which i'm using, but leveled rewards are always crap in games especially if the reward is unique.

Having gear 40 levels above what you're normally getting might be pretty boring. Pretty sure one of them automatically levels those rewards as you level, so it's a hassle-free way to keep them always current. E: Though it looks like that requires Script Dragon, so just grabbing the spell-cast one is probably better.

Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade, amongst its other nifty features, automatically levels quest rewards if you have them on you when you level up. It also has an MCM option to manually force a level adjustment on any quest rewards in your inventory if you need to. Or you can opt to get a spell to do it.

Upgrade Leveled Items Spell (made by the same guy) is the standalone version of the spell feature.

Leveled rewards aren't quite as big a deal as earlier games unless you're passing on smithing and enchanting though.

It is! Immersive Armors v7 was actually developed specifically with CCOR in mind and supports it by default, and a bunch of other equipment mods have patches to get their crafting recipes and values in line with CCOR's changes to vanilla items. Some (Bandolier, Jaysus Swords, Jewelcraft) are integrated directly into CCOR, and can be added to your game through the MCM without even needing the original .esp, though you do need the original meshes and textures. The aMidianBorn Content Addon was actually put together by CCOR's author, and designed specifically for it.

Immersive Weapons also works fine, but there isn't a patch for crafting rebalances for it.

When I say that I highly recommend this mod, I mean that I highly recommend this mod.

Jewelry. Smithing progression in the current version of the game is based on the value of the items you create, so you always want to make whatever has the highest value compared to the number of materials you put in. Like jewelry.

If it was a merchant added by Immersive Patrols, they tend to be pretty specialized, and I could totally see one who sold nothing but fine clothes. Most of them aren't worth my time even to browse through their inventory... I just use them to off-load the junk I've found.
