So I was riding past Silent Moons Camp on my horse and one of the bandits who is down on the lowest part of that bandit camp had run out to chase a deer, so I rode past him on my horse and one-shotted him with my battleaxe because I really don't like hunters and Skyrim lets me vent my distaste for them in a harmless setting.

This caused the rest of the camp to aggro, and they started coming down along the steps of their camp and charging into the field after me as I was riding away.

And they aggroed two mammoths, which proceeded to run all up into their camp and lay waste to it.

    Nature says: fuck you

OBIS made boethia's quest more interesting.

two invisible bandits, one in frontof mine, one on a watch tower, two regular archers, a ghost knight, vermin mage. Used console to kill her pets becuase they were overpowered.

Currently have followers disappearing all the damn time and just had a nether dragon spawn inside windhelm in the late afternoon, just before a vampire attack.

Dragon bones and ash littered the city streets.

The Silent Moons camp is a really strange one in terms of aggro. Sometimes I can aggro a couple at a time, but other times I'll get spotted by one bandit, and soon enough the entire camp is running after me, including the guys up at the forge at the top of the stairs who normally don't see anything until you get into their little area.

I do like using those mammoths even the odds.

They don't even the odds, they turn it into a massacre!

I didn't even do anything but stay out of the way. I was ready with my bow in case the mammoths weren't going to be able to make it up the stairs (I didn't want them picked off by archers) but they did manage to make their way up and none of the bandits stood a chance.

While it may be possible to complete Morrowind in a ridiculously short amount of time, the truth is most players become lost in it for 80+ hours and never even finish it.

I did, mostly because the controls infuriated me in an irrational level.

and the fact that I couldn't get that mod working that makes the game look like it modern.

The game probably hasn't held up that well, it is a pretty damn old game at this point. It was amazing when it came out though (also amazingly bad how Bethesda makes ugly faces).

It was one of the first PC RPGs that used 3D rendering so not much surprise there. It's the genre's Quake in a way.

It was great back in the day, but it's hard to go back to. Whenever I try to replay it, I mod it to hell and back and then only actually play it for about 20 minutes because the combat is terrrrrrrrrrrrible.

Skyrim is the first Bethesda game I've seen where faces didn't look like butts.

Also, the age really doesn't bother me..its just the controls. Its just, I've spent so long getting used to a specific control system and morrowind is all..nope, fuck you. do it this way.

Modders made better faces with fewer polygons within a couple months of Morrowind's release. The people at Bethesda who made the character models and textures in Morrowind should be ashamed. At least with Oblivion it took years to get rid of the potato faces.

It also took OBSE. I saw someone on another forum marvel at how Oblivion's faces were so bad that fixing them required hacking the game.

I tried Morrowind a while back and eventually gave up. Movement was too slow, lack of fast travel was annoying, the combat sucked, and the story and NPCs didn't really interest me.

I also hated the inventory system. I really hate grid inventories in general. That apparently makes me weird, but I'll take SkyUI over a grid any day.

Morrowind was all about jumping everywhere until you agreed to help that woman then gank her for her boots of blinding speed. Then it was seeing how far you could run with them and still play the game.

Beeest part was using resist magic to halfway see the landscape.

Then finally getting your enchantment high enough to see, then going to the vivec alter and donating a levitation potion so you could fly.......which in turn made cliff racers easy prey.

Unless you installed the marksmen mod, then they became demons which you ascended the heavens to slay, magic and hammer flying across the skies of Vvanderfall. Red Mountain didn't erupt, Neverine and Saint Jiub punched all the cliff racers down its throat.

Morrowind came out at a time where WASD + Mouse freelook was still a weird thing if you didn't play FPS games. Again, one of the first RPGs to use 3d rendering.

I'll be quite glad if the Skywind project succeeds so I can revisit the setting and have it feel playable. Admittedly, I'll miss some of the weird mechanics like being able to taunt any npc into attacking you so it's not a crime to kill and take their stuff.

I bought Morrowind twice when it released, which is normally a pretty big endorsement for a game, but in my case it was due to me feeling odd about hating a game so much while reading about others who were just having the times of their lives. I first bought it for the Xbox (I believe that was the console it came out on), and hated the combat immediately (whiff whiff whiff whiff) and so returned it, or sold it back... something. I got rid of it. After later upgrading my PC, I bought Morrowind used from a local store that sells used games and books, fired it up and... yeah the results weren't pretty. I tried to get past the combat by reading some guides and what-not, but ultimately I found the whole thing boring and stupid. I hated the world, I hated everything. It's been a long time so I don't even remember exactly what I couldn't get past in my brain, I just remember being quite frustrated that I had this supposedly amazing game in front of me but couldn't see it. It's funny that to this day, so many people give this game such praise and I just shake my head, unable to comprehend.

I hated it so much that I didn't even buy Oblivion until years after its initial release, and while most people would say it was a step back in many ways from Morrowind, I did at least have fun with it... mostly from modding it and playing all the guild quests. Any time I tried to do the main quest, however, I petered out anytime I had to go into Oblivion gates, which were the most obnoxious and boring places imaginable. So I pretty much quit the game once I'd done all the guild quests.

And then, Skyrim. I have well over 1800 hours into it at this point, and have never loved a game more. Yet I still have yet to ever complete the main story, the civil war, or any of the DLCs. Unlike the previous games, however, I don't really feel bad about it because I've gotten my money's worth out of this game so many times over.

Morrowwind's combat was a big reason I started a stealth character in that game. Then I fell in love with the hijinks it allowed and stuck with it even after they made combat unterrible (but often still bad) in subsequent games.

I can't say I've ever been in a situation where I felt my best option was beast mode. Without mods, it's pretty much always a straight up downgrade.

Im power gaming with first character, tracking all the good mods, then the second will be an illusionist thief paper cannon with LL framework, sanguine's debachery, and enough realism mods to make death and enslavement an ever present possibility. I will never leave the house for fear of losing my awesome gear.

I think restoration might be OP since I'm getting by on just two spells on my power gaming character.

i never did the fighters guild in oblivion, might not not do the companions this time, either.

If you're powergaming the companions give you access to a bunch of free trainers. 2h, archery, 1h, and heavy armor. I don't know if the mods you're using change the value of them but for my vanilla game they are a huge timesaver.

I know she's at least a potential follower at the end of the DLC. I'm not sure if she can still be a follower if you convince her to give up vampirism. She probably is. Bethesda put more effort into Serana than any other 3 companions put together, so there's no way they would just have her walk offstage and vanish.
