Also he thought Microsoft's plan to kill the used market was awesome and the way the future should be.
Well, Microsoft's plan included a digitial distribution service even better than Steam, and considering how incredible Steam is as a platform for purchasing software, the backlash against Microsoft is why I continue to think consoles will remain a poor substitute for a gaming PC.

What? Just saying "it will be better than Steam" does not actually MAKE it better than Steam. While Xbox is certainly better about sales than ever in its history these days, Steam still slaps it silly. Having a few nice features isn't "better than Steam." Otherwise Origin would be better than Steam.
Yeah I don't think anyone can predict accurately how the cost of games situation would end up, but I don't think there's any way MS would've ever matched Steam's deep discounts. Which at its core is what makes Steam the best. Getting modern games for $10.
The chaotic action is only chaotic until you know what to watch for.
That's pretty much Platinum's design philosophy in a nutshell. When I was working my way though Bayonetta, my girlfriend at the time sat down, watched me play for a bit, and then finally said, "I can't even make visual sense of this," and left.
I agree, EXCEPT I like the fact that the cricket bat is really slow and ponderous which combined with certain character proficiencies and upgrades (or lack thereof) goes well with the gameplay choice to make it difficult to face more than a few infected at a time. Honestly though as long as you're a good shot and carry some extra clips guns can be used rather liberally in situations where the noise won't cause some kind of swarm.
That was my final conclusion, too. As I was playing through, I felt being limited to the cricket bat was an issue, but by the time I got to the end, I had an ungodly amount of ammo, and realized I had pretty much done the equivalent of playing Resident Evil almost exclusively with the knife. Actually using my guns outside of emergencies would have been fine, and alleviated the bat over-reliance.
I would always just take out a set amount of ammo for whatever gun I was carrying so I would only use it when I was in a bad spot. It's good to have plenty in reserve for any cases of death by zombie or for later game situations.

Jesus, you guys know what 'plan' means, right?
Steam has been a very long road, and there have been a lot of bumps on the way. I'm a true believer, but I don't think it's impossible for someone to do better.

Oh man, I still remember when Steam first came out. People were up in arms. It worked like shit, but all their Valve games were locked behind it. I remember there was sooooooooo much bitching.
Anyways, side note, I made the mistake of looking at the comments on that article I linked before. Oh God, the trolls...
They're both around $15 on Amazon right now, which isn't bad except in comparison to $6 I suppose. So far we're enjoying the Black Ops online better, but the Ghost campaign more. Graphically Ghosts is pretty great and it so far content wise is much more stomach-able for me over the burned child/guy in oven start that Black Ops had.

BlOps 2 on Wii U was the most fun I'd had with that franchise since ... Modern Warfare 2? Maybe it's the general lack of xXNoScope420_24-7Xx bros on the system, or that shotguns/LMGs/snipers were actually viable for once, but I had my floor-low expectations pleasantly exceeded.
I had cynically assumed that Ghosts hadn't even released on the Wii U, but you may have just sold me on it ...
W101 has great dialogue and story going, somewhat hamperred by unusually iffy gameplay for Platinum. Then you get to the final mission and stop caring because you have awesome being pumped directly into your veins.

Just be warned, if you're looking for good MP, Ghosts is straight up ruined. An awful step back from the near perfect BLOPS2.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
For a split-second there I was a bit bummed that the Wii U isn't getting the new Resident Evil Remake HD Resmaster Deluxe Combo, but then I remembered that I never finished Deadly Silence, so I should probably go back and play that.
...and then I remembered that I'm terrible at the old tank-style RE games.
so, i probably missed any talks about it, but anyone want to remind me if i want game and wario as my platinum reward? i have enough eshop money from the ddp(the wind waker download the came with system, and the free MK8 download game gave me 10 bucks) to get earthbound, i think i want the retail nes remix package instead of download. would wario be the best bet for me. I've never played any games of this type or in this series.
If you ever have friends over to play games with, not even necessarily video games, I think Wario is a good choice. I haven't touched the single player yet after hearing some less than flattering things, but the multiplayer is a good time, though the number of games is almost tragically limited.

Do you have Nintendoland? Have you played previous Warioware titles?
Think of Game & Wario as a Warioware title, but instead of a hundred microgames, there's about a dozen really fleshed out games that are designed to fully take advantage of the Wii U Gamepad, Miiverse, and other system features.

So yeah, nevermind I guess. Hah.
I was bummed too, then I remembered my Gamecube is six feet away. I already have multiple versions of RE4 and Code Veronica, restraint will be my friend here. I can barely afford Hyrule Warriors and Bayonetta.

Plus the Wii version of REmake is still easy to find and pretty cheap.

Joking! But I dislike COD games but own both on WiiU because the fun off screen play and fun online environment.

I might be an idiot but I prefer the look of REmake to REmaster (judging from the few screenshots released). They're pretty similar but the original seems more like an old photo/movie, and the lighting seems different between the two.

"I dislike them, but I own them and enjoy playing them because they're fun." I'm not sure you're using the word "dislike" correctly.
Eh he gave some pretty specific reasons why the games are tolerable for him.
It's completely possible to like and dislike something. Maybe he meant that typically he dislikes them and what they stand for, but this is a special case.
I just think it's funny that "'real' gamers don't like COD" is so ingrained in our little subculture that even when we praise it, we still feel the need to shit on it a little. Kinda like the music snob who only listens to pop "ironically".

I just got the final upgrade for Gun users in Wonderful 101. It's exactly what I thought it was gonna be, and it's way cool.

I have to say, Wonder-Red's reaction to Prince Vorkken is pretty much exactly what I've always wanted a hero to do.
Which reaction?
Because I'm always charmed by "sure. We'd be delighted to hear your story.", but tha may not be what you mean.
Yeah, that.

BLOPS2 is all around the best CoD game to date, and Ghosts at least has a pretty rad campaign.
