Yeah, the slow and steady approach is prolly what I'll end up taking Delphi.
On the other note, work has been busy but boring so I may have spaced out a bit dreaming up a fun little choco-dyeing scenario.
This could be fun. You take a volunteer willing to lemon up their chocobo, or who hasn't yet dyed one. FC organizers take a specific number and mix of fruit, giving only the total fruit to be used and how many types (80 fruit overall, from 4 varieties). Volunteer doesn't get to opt in, but maybe gets a percentage of the house cut (to re-dye should they hate their result). Maybe give vague representation (imprecise RGB representation) on fruit involved.
Before the fruit is fed, you have a 1 hr window to buy tickets. Information above is posted to guild website so all can see. Each ticket should prolly be 1k-2k gil. You can buy a ticket for a specific color (say Morbol Green) or a spread (any Red). Payout on spreads at something low: either a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. Maaaaaybe give black and grey spreads at a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio since they're less represented.
Specific colors would have a return based on number of steps in the color flow chart shared here previously. Anything 1-2 spaces from start would have a 3:1 ratio, say 3-4 steps gets a 5:1 ratio, and 5+ at a 8:1 ratio. Maybe give specific troublesome colors like Soot Black, Royal Blue or Dalamud Red a 10:1 payout. Shortest path to color determines its payout value.
Then let people buy as many tickets as they want in that one hour window. Bets are closed, Bo is fed, people's tickets get posted to FC guild site and they have one hour to correct any possible posting errors. That hour closes, a finalized post drummed up, and then 5 hours later announce winners?
Just a fun thought.
Edit: Is there a point actually to a black or grey spread? I know there are multiple whites (or I'd heard as much, but I think I've only ever seen one black and on grey color)

Oh, and on the Chocobo stats argument, I think the most useful is a dps/heals hybrid. Extra dps is good on just about anything, but at least having choco regen is nice if you end up having to solo a boss fate.

Those clouds look so good. I keep thinking its a real image and then I see the stuff in the foreground. They really nailed the sky in this game. Does a ton for immersion.

Also, we made a new diamond dust effect (and yes, she snaps her fingers) for Shiva, coming in Patch 2.4. Please watch for it!
I like Keiichi Baba (Lead Character Artist) talking about minions too:
I'm actually a member of the "Minion Alliance," and I can say there are not many characters out there made with this kind of passion. If a programmer implemented cat- and dog-minions without talking to me, if the cushion minion could be plumped in the next patch, if an idle motion didn't look just right...the fight was on, and I mean the physical kind. Call me exaggerated, but I think the impassioned spirit of early game developers is alive and well in minions.

Ok, so, since I'm probably about 1 - 2 weeks out from having all my DoH classes, Botany, and Mining maxed, what do I do about desynthesis? I can only max a couple and it's used for getting the good crafting mainhands right? Does it matter which ones I pick? Can I get the mainhands myself for all the classes?

Anyone mind my occasional commentary as I progress the game?
Really liking the community vibe here. Don't wanna ruin it.
If that's supposed to be Friday (the 19th) I don't think I can make it, but if it's Saturday (the 20th) I'll be there. Knew I bought all that extra wine for a reason.
I'm trying to capture most of the color changes on my chocobo, so I was pruning screenshots this afternoon. Since we were just talking about the beautiful skies in this game, thought I'd share both of these:'
and this one was just a fun shot of the fireworks for the event:
This game is just gorgeous.

Did Ultima Ballad today, 2 shot him. Almost had him the first time but we missed a orb couple in the last 10%. The fight itself was very fun and it felt great dodging all the attacks seamlessly while digging the music.
Rie was quite happy to help me and others get our completion of this little done boss.

This Duty finder for the main quest dungeon has taken over an hour and still nobody.
What do you guys do when you're waiting for your duty finder to pop? I was doing Levequests but I got bored of that. Should I look for a different profession or something?

It depends. Sometimes I do some crafting. Or I FATE. Or I try and finish out some hunting logs in the area or whatever.
Or I futz around on my smartphone.

Argh, I keep traveling between moss green and cactuar green in my endless quest for Morbol Green. Most people online have to give it a little Xelph and OGho love and they're reporting the morbol success. Moss with Xelph in this last transformation gave me Acorn Brown....
This wouldnt be a bad color except that it's an awful long way to travel on the chart just to end up with something visually close to the original color with some dark trim lol.

Yeah I normally do crafting/gathering.
My routine is normally Log in, queue for low-level on whatever I'm levelling. Check daily turn-ins, start making them/gathering for them. Do Ixali turn ins. By then the dungeon has popped. Then normally I'm pretty much done for the day because I've got a really busy semester
