[5e] [Live Play] [One Shot...ish] Drafted in Midland

For one hundred years, Midland and Chuder waged bloody war for control of the continent. It was only with the capture of Doldrey, the Invincible Castle, that the tide began to turn in Midland's favor. Chuder agreed to an armistice, settling the borders where they had been before the invasion.
However, that peace was fleeting. The weary, war-torn nation and the flagging health of its king were both seen as signs of weakness, and the Kushan empire set sail its armies across the southern sea to Midland's shores. King Charles, desperate to fend off the invasion and provide relief to his exhausted armies, has authorized the pressing of any and all able-bodied commoners into service. With the rumors of demonic foot soldiers among the Kushan troops, the Holy See has even relaxed its persecution of witchcraft - so long as practitioners swear to only wield their dark arts against the enemies of the Hand of God.
And now you find yourselves lined up on a dock, to be crammed on to a ship headed for Windam. If the defense of the capital is successful, you will be among the forces that bring the fight to Kushan shores.
If you survive.
What is this for? A set up thread for a limited 5e game I'll be starting on Sunday night at 9:00-9:30 eastern (for 3 or 4 hours) over Mumble and Google Hangout. I'm looking for 4-6 players, the seats of which may already be filled.
Midland? Chuder? What are these places and names? Think France (Midland) and England (Chuder) during the real world Hundred Years War and you'll have a good idea. Except in this case, England/Chuder is Germany. The Holy See is analogous to the Catholic Church, and the Kushan Empire (fictional, not to be confused with the real world Kushan Empire) is analogous to a north African Sunni Empire.
System? We're giving D&D 5e a test run. The Basic Rules (all you need to play) can be found here.
Tools? Google Hangouts (will need a Google+ account) and Mumble. This will be recorded, and participation means agreement that the contents of the recording may be used in a future That DnD Podcast episode.
Anything else I need to know? Ability Score generation is 4d6 drop lowest. You can do that with Geth/Minion using the following:
Minion, roll 6#4d6k3 for character generation
Please note that Geth/Minion is currently bugged, and that command will need to be the first thing in the post. You can edit in content later without changing the role. Alternatively, you can use Orokos directly, just make sure "jdarksun's Drafted in Midland" is entered into the "Campaign" text box. That is the guidelines for all character creation rolls.
You can take the equipment as offered in Chapter 3, or you can buy your own based on the starting wealth in Chapter 5 (5d4x10gp for Clerics and Fighters, 4d4x10gp for Rogues and Wizards).
A Background is encouraged. This is kind of meant as a play test, so let's play with the rules provided. Don't forget your Trinket!
Characters start at level 1.
While all the Races are available for character creation, you're still going to look Human. The average person's idea of a dwarf is an adult whose growth stopped at the height of a child, and an elf is tiny, mischievous fairy.
This world is (or rather it was, until recently) low fantasy. Think Game of Thrones. There are, of course, whispers of things that crouch in the darkness beyond the firelight. A rumor that the Midland's founder was blighted by the Hand of God. An immortal warrior that supposedly roams only the bloodiest battlefields. If you practice magic, you're either a member of Holy See, practice in secret, or only recently came upon your powers. Or maybe you practiced openly, and were pressed into military service as punishment. You get the idea.
If this seems kinda of restrictive and oppressive, it is. That's the point. I want to initially foster an atmosphere of helplessness and desperation, hence rigidly adhering to the rules as written and literally packing you off on a ship at the start of the game. Expect things to open up after the first few encounters.

We welcome all types! Also we are trying to gather thoughts on D&D in general, so having the viewpoint of someone who hasn't really played a ton before will be invaluable.

I think if we do any more than 4, we will have some class doubling due to the small number of classes in the basic book.

I might do the opposite and go 6 int close range fighter. You can be professor x and I'll be the juggernaut.
Low int because I shoot myself with an adamantium bullet every night to forget all the killin.

Now, the Holy See has basically called a crusade against the Kushan Empire. They're willing to forgive any sin and grant amnesty to those they would condemn in other circumstances.
