I really hope Bioware releases more info on the remaining specializations before the game comes out. I really, really want to know more about the Rift Mage.
Mage seems to be seeing a lot of changes in specialization so I hear that.
Dying to know whats going on with that, Knight Enchanter and Necromancer. I know I want to be a mage but have no idea what to expect this time around.

If Knight Enchanter can basically be a rogue mage (rogue armor, dual daggers, that sort of thing), it's probably going to be a toss up between that and Necromancer.
It doesn't matter if the Architect saves all the darkspawn or not, another Blight will happen as long as the taint exists.
It was the Architect whom (accidentally) started the Fifth Blight, after all.
Oh believe me, I'm not arguing against that.
He's a pretty colossal fuck up but I do pity him.
Especially since he's most likely one of the magisters, trying to turn the darkspawn into productive members of molemen society is a nice attempt at redemption even if it's destined to/has failed horribly.

I'm not sure about him being a magister. It's possible, definitely, but he didn't seem anywhere near as ancient as Corypheus. On the other hand, it would fit a pattern for two Magisters to show up in two different expansion packs.

Well...
The Architect specifically says he just sorta awakened on his own. This could be metaphorical I suppose, if he's one of the Magisters. But I personally just interpret it as he was a random fluke that spent a significant amount of time trying to recreate the process that made him aware.

He doesn't seem to know how he came to be self aware.
To me, he's far too intelligent and human to just be a darkspawn, would still bet all my money he's one of the magisters.
Nevermind, I get it now because of your helpful bolding. It's not that the post is "creepy" it's that you are engaging in shaming of male sexuality and calling someone a creep is a quick dirty way to do that.
Hahahahaha what even? Public leering is creepy and makes me uncomfortable. I like talking about romance and sex, even in the context of DA, but tone is more than a little important, and specifically calling out her hot body and sexual skills comes across as shitty highfiving ones self over a sexual conquest which is a little objectifying, to say the least.
Whereas you talking about shaming male sexuality is just... What? I don't even?
On the topic of male versus female sexuality, there's this recent viral video on youtube wherein an average guy asks 200 women outright for sex, with abysmal success. Even a deliberately unattractive woman would outperform any male counterpart easily, given the same task - except maybe for male celebrities, I'd guess.
Beneath the pretentions of the civilized life of ours, trying to mate with as many partners as physically possible is very much in the nature of men, and it's not been until rather recently, that it's become somewhat en vouge to say it's not. The modern man acts as he does despite himself. Just look at the supposed mating habits of gay men, which are infamous for their outgoing sexual proclivities. That's practically pure male sexuality, mostly uninfluenced by the female way of doing things.
I'd say most men would love if women acted like gay men supposedly do sexually. If we could simply order up a motivated nice young fit bird to a toilet stall to satisfy our urges, for free and with no strings attached, like some gay men supposedly do on Grinder - we'd like that, like a lot, and we'd do it all the time.
As for my supposed *creepy* post, I just like to be precise. I could just have written that I find her *sexy*, and leave all those supposedly creepy things unsaid. That said, I don't think that being precise is ever *creepy* - I don't believe in *too much information*. I believe in honesty and clarity, and the pursuit thereof - at all cost.
You know rewatching the trailer I kind of had a thought. I'm spoiling this because it has to do with the rumored achievement list.
So if you didn't read the list I would suggest not even reading this at all because of possible spoilers
But hmm, the voice actor isn't the same but given the speech pattern and him being called the "elder one" does anyone else think that disembodied voice is Corypheus?
I say this because looking at that dragon in the trailer I was thinking doesn't that look at lot like the archdemon? And like wasn't Dumat the god that Corypheus worshipped and the first archdemon so what if Corypheus used his power to return?
That could also explain Hawke's presence. Maybe trying to stop him once again.
This is all just speculation based on rumors of course but hmm...I could see it working that way.
I just kind of assumed that's who it was from the voice. However,
Since it's a dragonthing it could also be one of the remaining Elder Gods that someone managed to wake up without tainting it with Darkspawnage.
The Elder Gods were supposed to be hideously intelligent when they were in their altogether - teaching Tevinter how to use Blood Magic and how to use it to break their way into the Black City. I doubt it would be unable to talk.
Now there's an angle I haven't seen considered before. That actually makes a lot of sense.
I thought Awakening, and the Architect were meant to kind of resolve the whole Blight thing, so that going forward it would be clear that the [overarching] DA storyline is not about blights and darkspawn.
It didn't really change the blight status quo though, it just introduced a faction of intelligent darkspawn. The dumb ones still exist and wander the roads.
The dragons are still hidden in the deep roads waiting to be corrupted for the next blight and darkspawn are still causing as much havoc as they ever did.
I was under the impression that the events of Awakening saw the eradication of the bulk of what darkspawn remained in Ferelden.
It did on the surface anyway.
The Darkspawn make their home in the deep roads and the old dwarven thaigs, they're pretty much impossible to stomp out it seems. Another blight in a future game is unlikely without a big time jump but now that there are both intelligent and evil darkspawn, I suppose anything is possible.
Although I remember the evil ones could no longer hear the song so I doubt they would be able to use their enhanced brains to speed up the search if they no longer have the way they initially sniffed out where the dragons were. Assuming thats how they found them, I forget the details of what exactly that was.
Will probably take the dumb dumbs another 200 years or something.
Supposedly
The grey wardens know where the remaining old gods are buried, and the architect was able to get that from them, which accelerated the blight in DAO well sooner than it 'normally' would have been. The question is, if he directed any other darkspawn to the other old gods before he bit it

You really can't wipe them out without killing all of the broodmothers too, because the broodmothers give birth prodigiously(dozens per litter). However the rank and file darkspawn apparently have instinctual knowledge on how to convert captives into broodmothers - which apparently isn't much more complex than force-feeding captives darkspawn meat until they turn cannibalistic and gorge themselves. It isn't clear on exactly how long this process takes though.
Regular darkspawn still listen to awakened darkspawn. Even if he could no longer hear the "song", the Architect simply directed the regular darkspawn on where to dig.
I wonder if the order of these cards is also the order the various characters join your party in. Varric first, then Cassandra, then Blackwall and so on.
I'm still conflicted about what class I'm gonna play. I loved playing as an archer in DA2, but Varric and Sera already got that role covered and I like both of them, so they're probably gonna be in my party most of the time. Two-handed warrior also seems pretty cool, but again, Iron Bull rocks and will fulfill that role. I'm not really a fan of the mages so far, except maybe Dorian, so I could use another one, but I don't really like making my main character a mage.
I'm kind of hoping Morrigan eventually joins your party, then I could use her.
Any word yet on how they handle Friendly Fire? I really hope it's a multi-tiered mutator this time, rather than being baked into the difficulty settings themselves.
What I noticed in the gameplay videos released so far is that there are a lot more smaller encounters compared to 2 and especially Origins, partly due to the much larger environments. I guess facing two or three standard enemies is a bit more taxing and challenging when your health doesn't automatically regenerate.
That gamescom video sold me. The animations look amazing, the tactical view looks functional. I don't know if the flaming sword is a warrior side effect or a stat on the weapon, but either way I want it.
I know its a small thing, but the robes on the mage character were really nice looking. Just a simple design, two tones and not messy (at least from a distance). So many games (including the previous DA) take the opposite approach and the robes end up looking gawky.
I was sold already but tactical view will fix a lot of infuriating things from DA2. Things you'll be intimately familiar with if you ever say...loaded up on ice weapons to try for speed kill records on bosses.
Also, too, the twitters say that the dude with Hawke in the trailer isn't the Warden
I'm assuming he's the obligatory "beginning of game party member that dies horribly" since he looks a bit too unique to just be a random soldier dude.
I actually thought he was Cullen at first. Which would have made sense:
"A cthulhu monster has appeared in the Marches, Inquisitor. What should we do?"
"Send Hawke and Cullen. That sort of shit isn't even weird to them. They're from Kirkwall."

That said, someone asked Gaider if there would be an override folder and his response in summary was "this is Frostbite 3, given the track record of modding in games using Frostbite I highly doubt this would be the case (though I'm sure people are going to try)"
The main thing holding modding back is everything is console focused now. Just the way it is. We need a stupid long development time and luck to get a proper toolset anymore usually. Hopefully someone knocks something together anyway. Someone crack Battlefield 4 open!
"For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men. Not women. Not beasts...this you can trust."
That briefly mentioned it being on a slider and implies it's separate. Old, but it's as far as I got before my effort gave out. :P
I didn't see where you said this was old, and was genuinely distressed when I saw it saying "Was slated for this fall, but delayed a year". It took me a bit to realize that article was a year old.

Snarky Female Bow Rogue was my Hawke(and is best Hawke).
Since the lead character according to the trailers has sme power over the Fade/Rift, I am expecting Rift Mage to fit best with the story.
Also, the idea of playing an Inquisitor who potentially could be the worst case scenario for a Mage gone bad amuses me.
He's a pretty colossal fuck up but I do pity him.

By the way, what's the deal with the whole "health doesn't regenerate outside of combat" thing? Has Bioware explained their reasoning for that?
Any word yet on how they handle Friendly Fire? I really hope it's a multi-tiered mutator this time, rather than being baked into the difficulty settings themselves.

intrigued by knight enchanter, though, and i really liked archery in DA2, so i'll see how that goes

Each game seems to be getting progressively less moddable.
True, but that's a mod that doesn't require a developers kit to make.
Goddamn it Anders.
DA2 technically didn't have a modkit, but it was basically just a retrofitted version of DAO's engine
How much fiddling around has been done on BF anyway? Most of those ME mods were only doable because of how well documented and known UE3 was.
XO Pressly.
(That said, Gaider is but a writer)
Awesome, something new must have dropped that sparked some discussion.
Eagerly check thread...
Goddamnitsomuch.
On the site I still only see one for each class listed.
Have they mentioned the others anywhere?

No deets on the other ones, though.
