I got strung along SOME MORE. Today the guy said that the HR meeting to finalize all hiring for Q3 and Q4 will happen on Friday.
I am actively looking for something else but no new interviews. So far I have been waiting 6 weeks for an offer, from the initial interview. This is kinda crazy and I've never experienced it before. Also never worked with a company that was willing to do interviews for a position they weren't ready to offer to a person.
I am waiting and looking. Hopefully I will get a yes before I consume what little savings I had and have to start exploring WIC options.

The video is titled "Quest for Solomon's Mines" and the first 8 minutes are all about King Solomon in the bible and teasing some connection between the discovered copper mines and Solomon (though if you listen the narrator is careful to never actually directly state that just strongly imply)

And the character of Solomon is actually less likely to have actually existed than King Arthur (total evidence for Arthur = 1 out of context scrap of inscription, total evidence for Solomon = nothing at all). And third the mines are from the wrong time, in the wrong place and of the wrong culture to have been run by a king of Jerusalem.

i was speaking with a coworker about dawn of the planet of the apes today and some of the problems i had with the characters in the film and one of my customers got up and started talking to us about it. turns out she did work on the film and suggested

my problems came from the fact that the film was apparently fairly different before post editing
according to her, the original cut really highlighted the classist/displaced worker themes and the humans were much much less sympathetic on the whole
i am not sure how i feel about it. the way she sold it, it sort of sounded like "fuck you, poor people, if you didnt want to get eaten alive you should have risen up and done something about it"
or she could have been completely misrepresenting the original film!
