If Bungie were really smart, they'd make emotes their own equippable item. Then they could make different emote sets (especially dances), have a couple of them drop as special quest rewards (to entice people), and sell a bunch as DLC.

I would think that anyone looking to take launch day off work so they could play this, would be setting themselves up for a day of frustration and dropped connections. There's always the possibility that it will go smoothly, but I think it would be one of the first games with this level of online activity to do so, ever.
Not wanting to spread misery, I'd just say be prepared to spend the day doing something other than Destiny.

Except for xbox one friend list stuff I have not seen many issues over beta and alpha. I think things will be fine day one

I feel disappointed and silly to be surprised the beta is gone.
I was, like, ready to go. The game did a really good job of making making me want to achieve the next level already. Always with that chunk of gear at the end I couldn't use because I was one level behind...
My opinions on the story may not have been glowing, but I was more than ready see what lay beyond the Moon.
Literally the absolute only thing in the entire game I give a shit about, is that I continue to be able to enable my groove servos and dance like a motherfucker while capping a point.
Getting your funk on + better peripheral vision = best thing. And it's even more rad when your whole team gangs up and busts a move on the point. We are an unstoppable force of dance and there is nothing you can do about it.
Yeah... I'm thinking for that reason they'll disable emotes in PVP at some point. :P

After alpha, they said they were aware of this, and didn't know if they liked it being in or not, and there not sure if they will keep it.

If they take dancing out of PVP, just fuck the whole thing. Burn it all down.
All I ask is for them to leave the dumbest, most endearing part of PVP in place.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty
I saw a comment from Deej somewhere that said we are leaving the dancing in. If you want to dance in the crucible and get a rocket in the face go ahead. Since I wasn't in the wow craze with you all I would throw in for " The six mouths." I gots the hoodie ilove that comic so much but I understand the utter fail bomb that war hammer online was. Someone mentioned the Terran or Sol Darkmagicks a few threads back. And my name is deadspace, it's been three days since I've played destiny. I stopped by the menu item on my media bar, I didn't play they wouldn't let me... *sob* so then I tried the alpha again.... I have a problem and the cure is space magic .

My only worry about dancing in PvP is that it lets players effectively see around corners. So they could dance while guarding an objective to see around a wall and tell exactly where an enemy is coming from without having to put themselves in danger. Since 1v1 battles in PvP are won by who gets the jump first, this could become a major issue that "pro" players will abuse like crazy.
I love the fact that a legit argument could be made that "dancing is OP"
God bless you Destiny.

I don't care about potential to see around corners, it's bullshit how closed the FOV is on this game and I celebrate any way to stick it to Bungie for making such a shit decision regarding the field of view. It feels like I'm playing the game through a set of binoculars that have blinders attached to them.
Also, pretty sure there's a radar that does better than any edge you might get grooving on down to hipsville.
edit: Throwing in a vote for Pax Arcadia. It's succinct and silly as an in-joke, sounds reasonable acceptable to outsiders.

I like the way they do the radar in this, it lets you know someone is near by, but doesn't give you shit about if they are up or down, or near or far. Thank you.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

The radar is not better than getting an actual view of where the enemy is by peeking around the corner while sitting/dancing.
edit: And if people don't think that "hardcore pro" players will not abuse this like crazy in PvP then they are kidding themselves. Its just a matter of if you are cool with someone sitting/dancing to see you coming around the corner and then killing you because of it.

Agreed x100.
In that IGN video where they showed off the new map, the guy playing used the limited knowledge the radar gives to his advantage in such a cool way. He's guarding a control point and sees on his radar he's about to get jumped by multiple enemies. So, he glides straight up in the air and into a little pocket of wall/ceiling. One enemy rushes to the area he used to be and continues on, thinking he is around the corner. Two other enemies rush in and try to clear the area but can't find him. He then Void Blasts the two enemies in the area and drops back down. The first guy comes back in at that point and the player got the jump on him and finished him off.
That never could have happened if the radar was as precise as the Halos and I think its a great change.
Dancing should increase the rate your special fills and cool downs... Cool down.
But seriously if I was bungie is have an Easter egg where ke$ha plays if all guardians in the crucible dance at the same time.
In loadout, dancing on control points make them go up 3 times as fast. It's a legitimate tactic to ignore incoming fire and just dance on the point because they wont kill you in time. The rage is epic when your team has under 1 K:D and wins.

Exactly, it lets you use their radar as a weapon for yourself. I'm sure in the main game there will be some trait to improve your radar, but let that be a thing someone has to sacrifice something else to get.

Well I played a lot of crucibile on saturday, I saw all kinds of behaviors, but most people when capping a point, got low, and tried to find cover. At least on the one.

I miss when our primary guild was named Kansas City Hotsteppers (with Obsidian Spur being the sister guild we threw the reject lepers in).

You can come home from work, start playing, and NEVER STOP. Just sleep at work on 9/9.
14 Character Limit, though: "Kansas City Ho"?
"Obsidian Spur" still works, though. I'd forgotten that one.

Kansas City Ho works for me.
It wouldn't be the first time I'd be in a Kansas City ho.
Sorry, that was inappropriate.

I just took the entire week off, seemed easier. I still have 4 weeks of vacation left. Gotta spend them on something!

All they would need to do is significantly increase the delay between stopping to dance and going back into first person view.
Or give players a damage/armor debuff for like 5 seconds after dancing.
