That cheap cheap beech was a great example of coins. Rehab and I had very similar stats and tonight is proof we're fairly close skill wise, but he pulled ahead partly because I missed every coin on the first lap.
@McFlynn@Rehab Thanks for some truly intense races tonight! It was my first night getting on in quite a while but absolutely worth it! I just hopped in on a whim and didn't realize we weren't playing with items, else I probably would have gone for a heavier character...but oh well. Grabbing those tight lines was enough of a challenge as it was.
Would have pulled some highlights from the main tournament but they got bumped out of my most recent. That said, the following are just myself, McFlynn, Big Dookie, and TDawg racing around afterwards in some really good races.
Sleezebag gets revenge on Mechanized Abomination in another epic Mount Warrior match up. Monkey comes considerably close and wins out on all the wreched CPU driven participants (also wins the best mid-air posing contest).
Someone screwed me hard in Dry Bone Dunes. I was running mostly in first and then started trading places with a PGP, but was about to get a solid lead when they knocked me off course... which I could have recovered from except they knocked themselves off course right in front of me and then got themselves somehow stuck (and didn't seem to try to go) so neither of us could move for a long ass time.
There was raging.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the offer to let me try and finish but I just went through my e-mails and then went to bed instead. I appreciate it though.
Also no items is a hell of a lot of fun. It would be nice if there was some fine grained control where you could basically set it up like a time trial and give every player three and only three mushrooms. It would be enough to recover from mistakes or attempt risky shortcuts. No items is probably as close as we'll get. Generally nice because if you did badly it was usually your fault except in a few cases.
PGP? I was gonna say that might have been me, until I read that you were in first and second place. No way that was me on Dry Bones Dunes, as that's one of my worst courses. I was in back for pretty much the whole time.

@skeldare, you may get your mushrooms-only race yet!
