Ah, I came in here to moan about the item roulette, but I see it's not just a Halos problem. Sometimes I had reached the second set of item boxes before I got the first to stop spinning! Which made things rather tricky...
And a bonus race thrown in that doesn't highlight the top two racers to show the brutality that other faced behind them and the finish in which I land on Nick Ks head.
Other than the time everyone used the new Mercedes-Benz karts when they first came out I don't think we've ever attempted to limit the vehicles before. I'm curious what this will do to the rankings. Are heavies on sports bikes really cheat mode or after months of almost the same crew racing together have we honed our MK skills? We'll find out tonight.

I had fun thanks everyone for playing. I think I did better when you all were on bikes though.
Also, I went back in to help those that hadn't finished and it kicked me out. When I finally got back in, no one was there. I swore TJ and one other person had some races left.
The results didn't have as much of a shake up as I had hoped.
The only person that changed spots was me, down to the bottom. It was so bad there was a point where I was ranked 8th and there were only 6 of us playing.
Next week is back to normal settings but I'm open to suggestions for the next "special" round in two weeks.
I felt I had slightly good luck with items this week so I shouldn't really complain. I'll save that for some other time. Wish I would have played better in those last 5 or so races though. I choked just like the Packers.
I hope we do karts only in the future with normal items. Also Mirror Mode. Together or separate.

Items were not my friend last night. Most of the time I had people steal the item box I was heading to because I couldn't break out of the middle pack. The frequent lightning strikes didn't help any.
I hope we do karts only in the future with normal items. Also Mirror Mode. Together or separate.
We can definitely try karts only again at some point. I do have a special plan for a mirror mode race that I'm sure everyone will hate but I don't know if I want to try it as the next special round.
It wasn't until I watched these replays that I noticed Corey and Rehab used the exact same setup. I guess that explains why I though Pink Gold Peach was really out to get me.
This was not my night. I only made it as high as a third place finish but this video gives a better idea of my torment. I have been repaid for my past sins but that still won't stop me from tossing shells backwards at the finish line in the future.
Nick K./@Raziel_pm (?) was on a roll with the most first places of the night. Getting everyone off their sports bike was probably a dream come true for someone that favors karts.

PA G&T SundayDrivers Tournament -- Week 36
START YOUR ENGINES! Week 36 races begin SUNDAY February 8th from 6 PM to 730 PM CST (7 PM to 830 PM Eastern, 4 PM to 530 PM Pacific, 12 AM to 130 AM GMT). Come get your race on against fellow Penny-Arcaders!
Based on this week's poll results, The settings poll has been retired. I may open it back up if there is demand for it. Going forward, here are the race settings:
WARNING: If you do not have DLC Pack 1 installed, NO KART FOR YOU.
To join the tournament, simply use Search by Code on the Mario Kart 8 tournament menu, and enter the code 6987-9166-8350. You will only need to do this once -- the tournament will be saved in your favorites after you first join it. Once you have joined, you will also have access to this tournament's own Miiverse community.
Points are accumulated based on race performances during tournament hours. Everyone is capped at a maximum of 16 races each Sunday, so you won't be able to cheese your way to the top of the standings by simply doing more races than everyone else. After each tournament, I will post the standings here. This tournament will stay open until everyone gets sick of it and stops playing.
If you join the tournament outside of the designated race hours, you will be able to race against anyone else who is in the tournament lobby at the time, but your points will not count towards the official tournament standings.
There is no friend list requirement for the tournament. You can race against anybody who joins the tournament, whether they are on your friends list or not!
The tournament lasts for 2 hours, and everyone is capped at 16 races. Opponent shuffling is off. CPU opponents have been activated, they will help fill out the races when the room isn't full, and allow you the same point potential in every race.
As always this tournament is open to future changes -- There is a weekly poll for everyone to vote on basic race settings. If you would like to see changes that are not available via the poll, please post your suggestions in this thread.

TJ/@SilentRoughWater takes a beating in the desert but a star aided short cut helps him take 2nd.
@Dirk2112 deftly avoids an invincible Rehab winding up at a round high of 2nd place
@skeldare proves Shy Guys Falls is his track by taking out quite a few people with only the AI Bowser getting the better of him.
Corey/@CGH gets so far head in the final lap of Mute City the replay doesn't even bother to show anything from it.
Here's @Rehab doing what he does best; being invincible and hitting people with things.
