Just play the oozes on curve. They combo with Avenge.
?
Yeah I have no clue what that means either. Avenge is impossible to combo on an ooze because secrets don't work on your turn.
The earliest possible turn you can combo an ooze is 3, and that's with the coin + sword of justice turn 2 followed by an ooze on turn 3 followed by being able to use the oozes turn 4 and that's if they're not perma-frozen or a skeletal smith destroys your blade.

"Orkses never lose a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fightin so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!".
That's not really combo-ing as it's just applying Avenge's function as intended. That's how it works normally on any unit.
By "combo-ing" I meant a buff applied to ooze during the turn it was summoned which gives you 2 buffs for the price of 1, which is the whole point of using oozes. Without same-turn buffs, oozes are pretty crappy.

they aren't that bad as a 2 drop on their own imo.
Didn't know what kind of mage I was playing against, played thoughtsteal.
Gave me Frost Nova and Mountain Giant. Now I'm a freeze giants priest.

Yeah so why is hunter suddenly so strong now? It gets voted down in pretty much all tournaments now.
Is it the mad scientists that are essentially just a really good card?
Mad Scientist and Haunted Creeper (and to a lesser extent, Webspinner) made the standard mid-range hunter much more solid.
EDIT: Hunter also has favorable match-ups against, or outright shits on, a lot of the other decks that are favorable in the Naxx meta, e.g., Handlock, Rebirth Shaman, and Secrets Mage.

I had an awful Arena run (2-3), but got a Gladiator's Longbow for my troubles. Of course, I immediately tried to create a deck with it. A combo Pirates/Traps deck with Mad Scientist and some hard removal cards. Highmane and Longbow for the finish. Sadly, I have Captain Greenskin.

This is the current version I'm experimenting with:
Normally, I don't mess around with builds and just straight up netdeck (I know, no shame), but this has been fun tweaking the deck. What I've done so far:
Synergy/Combos:
-Mad Scientist provides traps to power bow
-Bows with all Pirates gives low cost taunt which protects 5/3 Bloodsail or Charging Deckhands on next turn
-Dream play: Turn 3 Bow/Coin/Dread Corsair, Turn 4 x2 Bloodsail Raider or x1 Raider and x2 Deckhands
-Animal Companion beasts all good (Leeok can even buff pirates)
-Endgame Tigers/Highmanes stick around to buff Kill Commands
-Longbow covers next turn Rag for 8 to the face...in theory
-Flare great vs mirror and freeze Mage
Bad:
-Minimal card draw with Flare only
-Bow is pivital in making the Pirates great
The 5 mana slot has rotated around a lot. It started with Spiteful Smith, but the +2 bonus never came into play as planned so she got moved around for Loathab. Eventually I swapped out for Spectral Knights thinking that a 4/6 that can't be spell removed would be awesome. Then I thought that the Tiger basically does the same thing at 5/5, but gives Kill Command +2 damage so I went that way instead. If I had Greenskin, I'd probably put him in place of a Tiger.
Kill Commands went in place of Deadly Shots because they can damage the face, which is important in this deck. Ragnaros was a late addition after pulling Leeroy. On the fence here with that change.
I've won a few games, but I think Warrior/Paladin does Pirates/Weapon builds better. The nice thing about this deck is that it's Hunter so the opponent will probably not flood the board with minions fearing Buzzard/UtH.
I'm sure all in all, it's a weaker version of a rush or mid-range Hunter, but it's been fun experimenting with deck building. Any thoughts on tweaks/changes?
In a control priest mirror match I just made my opponent draw 15 cards to kill him from fatigue thanks to three circle of healings (one from thoughtsteal). Milling people who leave a Northshire Cleric out late is probably the only fun part of priest mirror matches and makes the whole thing worth it.

Are you serious? Priest v. Priest is the most fun mirror match, all the time. Throwing thoughtsteals and cabals and mind controls around and around and around is a riot.
I shit talked Duplicate when it was announced, but when they can get something decent off it feels like you have to climb a fucking mountain to win.

I haven't played much HS lately and certainly haven't arena-d in much longer but I have the flu so why not take my withered husk of a body through it with a mediocre rogue deck.
But as my body decays and sheds it's outer layers... my mind must be growing stronger! Though I forgot to take a picture of my 12-1 screen, behold!
and the final kill was hilarious, he had just swept my entire board and mind controlled a guy first. sap was amazing as i had previously sapped ironbark but he knew he couldn't replay it without dying. i'd been sandbagging my 2nd dark iron for awhile. felt good.

Hey guys, I decided to record my latest arena run with commentary and put it up on Youtube. I'd love any feedback on my play, card choices, and the videos themselves. I've got 2 of 4 parts up right now and will edit the post when the others are done.

1 mana - Avenge
2 mana - Cloning Ooze
Enemy kills one ooze, the other becomes a 4/4.

Turn 1 Avenge, Turn 2 Ooze. Quit trying to live the dream and kill him with a 4/4.

What you need, friend, is warsong commander -> raging worgen -> taskmaster. Same amount of damage as grommash, and can even optionally split it.
My current control deck. You can still pull off some not so tricky plays for 16 with a Leeroy+Taskmaster and a Greenskinned Gorehowl.

Angry mage tempo is much angrier with all the low-curve value minions and mid-range powerhouses from Naxx.
