Yeah trying to play pro-level competition style dota is a path to madness. It is entirely possible to play for fun. Hell, there are bots and generally speaking they are really fun to play with. You never have to ever play a match with actual live people if you don't want to do that. But I solo queue all the time when I'm playing dota and I have a lot of laughs, win or lose. I believe dota is a game that can be enjoyed at all skill levels. For sure the more you put into the game th more it gives back but don't feel like you are starting a career. With the tutorials and bots you can be as casual as you like and dabble as you see fit.
Shit on a single, last three characters have frozen to death, can't get a fire to keep me alive in the woods.
In my experience, survival depends largely on whether you're lucky enough to quickly find a sleeping bag and footwear. The world might have literal monsters running around, but cold is the real enemy.
The real kicker was that bandit bleeding out and still running of with my stuff.
.
Uninstalled warband. I screwed up my game starting the rebellion on the worst part of the map and wound up with both major powers gunning for me. The pearl did have an interesting back story......I could reinstall...capture every lord........
I don't think I'll ever be able to sit through a full run of Dungeon of the Endless in a single sitting - it's just too stressful! No sooner are you basking in your clutch victory by escaping to the next level by the skin of your teeth, you're presented a new level room with 4 doors, ugh!
edit: 3xSetblaster VI + 1xNeurostun VI = Salvation. If you put them all in a fairly long room, they absolutely shred. I had one of those rooms followed up by a 3xTesla IV 1xNerurostun room in level 8, with the exit uncovered and with three separate entry points, and nothing got through. I can't quite believe how glorious this is
Guys, please. Please stop. Steam thread is usually one of my favorite places on the internet, but it has been painful to read today. Can we please let it rest and go back to our usual awesome thread?
I pulled out the old Q6600 and placed in the new gear. Hooked everything up for a shakedown like so
but would she boot?
Yes, yes she would
Ok, now that we're up and running it's time to clean those cables up a bit
Those cables heading up toward the drive bays are my PCI-E power cables that will lie dormant until my GPU comes back from RMA summer camp. The unsleeved ones on the bottom left go from a switch to the inverter for my CCFLs because I am a fourteen year old boy trapped in a remarkably well endowed man's body.
And here she is, in all of her glory:
Lastly,
Can't wait to get a GPU back and put this sexy beast through her paces.
@smokestacks I take back the LED thing. That is a gorgeous case.
I love this case. It's an Armor Evo made by Rosewill. It's all about cooling.
The unusual looking bumpout on the top holds two 120 or 140mm fans, but is designed to give you extra clearance space to mount a double sized radiator for watercooling, and although it's hard to see in the images the side bumpout houses a 230mm intake fan (aimed pretty much directly at your GPU) that you can replace with four 120mm fans if you want.
There are additional 120mm fan mounts behind the drive cage, as well as a spot for an additional 140mm fan on the bottom in front of the PSU.
The best part is that the front fans have red LEDs that are wired separately from the fan motors, and there is a small switch on the bottom lip of the front side of the case that turns just the LEDs on or off. Couple that with the cold cathodes being on a switch I can go from respectable looking to 2 fast 2 furious in a matter of seconds.
I want to replace the 230mm intake with a higher powered LED one, but by the time I could do that summer will be over and ambient temps around here will be low enough that it won't matter.
So many fans!
I still just have the one case fan. Gonna order fan controller next payday and get some Led Fans. And clear the cabling. Man, my case is such a mess. I've been meaning to do it properly but so much work. Only 7 more nights then freeeeeedom!
LEDs sound cool...until they start to bother you two weeks in and you just turn them off. My current case is just gaudy when left to default settings. Next one will be really simple.

I kinda started opposite, my first few PCs were in very generic cases, and I've slowly been adding more and more lighjting. I like LEDs though. I find the color soothing at night. Red light doesn't interfere with your nightvision either.
Speaking of redlights and operating in the night, @Big Classy felt that I should break my new rig in with Arma III. I've heard from people here that play it that it is awesome, so I'm super excited to fire it up.
Today we'll see how well a system intensive game like Arma 2 runs on an HD2500 integrated GPU.
I'm with @SmokeStacks on this one (goddammit). I like LEDs. My [blood red] case glows crimson with the soothing fires of hell and damnation and it pleases me.

Only by 8 mil? Is it my imagination or is that table slow? I got lots of multi balls, but found I was dragging on getting points. I got 5 mil for completing something, but I need to learn to do what is needed. Just hitting them around forever doesn't gain much points.

Screw you and your freakishly clean desk. I hate you. My desk has become the household dumping ground. I swear that there is wood underneath the piles of stuff. My next desk won't have any horizontal surfaces.
Just kidding about the hate stuff. I still love ya.
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a pina colada at Trader Vic's.
And his hair was perfect.

It's not pink?
It's the pink of the dying, their blood washing it nightly for weeks on end.

yeah it's a really slow scoring table, most of the early tables seem to be low scoring, I don't really play any of them often as I prefer the newer ones

@Big Classy hit me with a copy of Arma III.
Yes, you heard it correctly. A freaking copy of Arma III!
So, please, allow me to reuse this concept as a convenient graphic representation of the magnitude of this happening.
Thank you very much, you monster of class!

That is so adorable that it's actually making me angry.

If anyone is wondering that last case is a silent case with a lot of really good cooling. I own it, it's amazing.
Which case is it? Through the incredible generosity of @pixelated pixie abd @Lindsay Lohan I'm planning a new build and a quiet roomy case sounds good for my long term plans
2nd EDIT: Nevermind. I found it. It's the Fractal Designs Define R4, I believe.
Just for future reference guys, if a bunch of people decide they're going to flail at each other about mobas for 3 pages, please report it so a mode can tell them to get a grip.

Wait... You mean, no pink PC case?
If I could find an actual quality pink case I might.
I'm pretty committed to my airbrushed ATI Ruby case though. It may not be pink but it's pretty badass and there aren't many of them out there. I mean, really, look at that paint job.

Honestly, I didn't notice anything you pointed out. I noticed your mouse is on the wrong side of the keyboard. :P (I kid, I kid)
As for first case with LED's, uh, they didn't have those in the 90's. Just saying.
/me old man grumbles and goes back inside after yelling at kids on the lawn.
That being said, I wish I had money to just get a whole new computer case down. Mine works, so I can't justify it, but I wish I had more power.
At this rate I'm just going to wait until my current drive fills up completely.
I could buy a 1TB SSD today if I wanted to
I'd have to live in the box it came in
but still
