I'm just curious about how many people actually buy both versions of the game. XY is the first time I ended up with both, but thats because Nintendo LITERALLY GAVE me one of them. And even then, this doesn't come with any price discount. Is this for...parents with two kids who want the game? I just want to see the meeting where Nintendo decided that this was the thing to do.

That most likely. Still a terrible bundle - I mean, if you don't need the game the very second it comes out, surely there will be SOME kind of sales on them between now and Christmas (which I assume is what most people who'd need both copies would be getting it for).
And honestly with GTS you don't even really *need* both versions anymore - it's easy enough to trade for the version exclusives. Back in my day, I had to rent Pokemon Blue from Blockbuster and beat the game to get all 150 Pokemon! Five miles, uphill, in the snow!

It's just a bundle for two people buying the game together. Siblings, couples, roommates etc.

I wouldn't expect a huge discount, but there should be something for buying both. Either a couple bucks off, or something better than potions. Hell, throw in some Pokemon that evolve through trading (don't even have to be shiny or legendary or anything) and market that as "Hey, you're buying two games so why not trade these Pokemon to evolve them?"

Nintendo just released a patch for X & Y that updates the games to version 1.3. Not sure yet what exactly the differences are, Nintendo only mentions bug fixes.
I got an e-mail with a demo code for Omega Ruby/Other Thingy on the eShop. Not sure if these are actually hard to come by, but if anybody needs one for some reason let me know and I will bless pokeymans upon you. This is a United States code, which apparently does matter.
I've been playing through X & Y again with the intention of actually finishing the Pokedex this time in anticipation of the new game. Also, only using bug type pokemon. Keeping each one of them equally levelled as best as possible. It's kinda a chore but I love the bug type so much even if their moves are usually terrible.
I'm getting bonus points with myself by not using any bug/steel and not using Scolipede because those are the only bug types I used to use in general. Current team is Beedrill (lol), Vivillion, Leavanny, Heracross, Crustle, and Shedinja. It's really not a very good team but I enjoy the challenge. Fire types are no fun.
Yeah, its not like I'm ever strapped for cash in a Pokemon game past the first few hours (and even then its only because I buy TONS of Pokeballs). I know I shouldn't be disappointed in a demo that is technically all new content, but this was so repetitive and dull after the first mission that I wish I hadn't bothered with it at all.
If I had never played a pokemon game and that demo was my first exposure to it, I would not want to buy pokemon. That is the exact opposite of what demos are supposed to do. If you want to give us a mega stone then just email us a code that we can enter in the actual game.
