There was a deal earlier this week on the facebook marketplace (i know, i know) for Nintendo Switch for 179 dollars. I didn't order any but my friends order some. It's going to be interesting to see if they get them. There were some other pretty decent deals that seemed less sketchy on gamestop and amazon sites. This was a pretty good black friday/cyber monday weekend for game deals. Fanatical also had some good deals for non-triple a games. There's a store on facebook marketplace called big dogs that has ps4 controllers for 24.99 and i think i'm going to pull the trigger.

IIRC, those deals usually are using grey market arbitration to sell games that are much cheaper in other regions.

interesting, my theory (without doing ANY research) was two possibilities, they were stolen goods, or they were from liquidated companies that had inventory that they picked up for pennies on the dollar. I was hoping the second. I'll have to look more into the grey market arbitration thing.
Thanks to all who post and comment. I'm definitely a deal hunter and it's great to have some good sources like this thread.
I can't speak to PSVR but the switch I ordered last wednesday night started shipping on saturday night.
As to gamestop, my switch I ordered wed shipped sat and arrived yesterday. And they emailed me the gift card (though I got a subsequent email that they were having issues with getting funds to the cards).
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I'm guessing a lot of folks here may have used Humble in the past. Just got this email from them.
Last week, we discovered someone using a bug in our code to access limited non-personal information about Humble Bundle accounts. The bug did not expose email addresses, but the person exploited it by testing a list of email addresses to see if they matched a Humble Bundle account. Your email address was one of the matches.
Sensitive information such as your name, billing address, password, and payment information was NOT exposed. The only information they could have accessed is your Humble Monthly subscription status. More specifically, they might know if your subscription is active, inactive, or paused; when your plan expires; and if you've received any referral bonuses.
Even though the information revealed is very limited, we take customer trust very seriously and wanted to promptly disclose this to you. We want to make sure you are able to protect yourself should someone use the information gathered to pose as Humble Bundle.
As a reminder, here are some tips to keep your account private and safe:
Don't share your password, personal details, or payment information with anyone. We will NEVER ask for information like that.
Be careful of emails with links to unfamiliar sites. If you receive a suspicious email related to Humble Bundle, please contact us via our support website so that we can investigate further and warn others.
Enable 2-Step Verification (2SV) so that even if someone gets your password, they won't be able to access your account. You can enable 2SV by following these instructions.
We sincerely apologize for this mistake. We will work even harder to ensure your privacy and safety in the future.
Jeffrey Rosen, CEO, Humble Bundle
Shit happens, I appreciate them telling people so quickly. Still, login and change your password.
Near as I can tell, the Post Office still hasn’t received the games I ordered. There’s a tracking number, but it provides no info.
And then yesterday, GameStop sent me an email letting me know how much trade-in value Horizon: Zero Dawn has. Nice to know what it’s worth to them, days before I even have the game in hand.
I got an email pleading with me to not contact Customer Support unless my orders have been untouched and missing for over a week, due to high CS volume from Black Friday.

1. Hire more people, and
2. Pay them more,
3. You shitbirds.
90% sure the copy of Astro Bot I got today was pre opened, since the case wasn't shrink wrapped, had an adhesive circle thing keeping it closed, and the disc already had a thumb print on it.
I've been told (edit: by people who work for Gamestop but had nothing to do with my order, like other PA forumers) that it was likely a display copy and that I shouldn't bother complaining.

I agree, but also they probably can't because financial problems. Also GameStop has never staffed appropriately.
Source: my many 70-80 hour work weeks as a manager there.
The death of gamestop cannot come quickly enough. I hate when I have to order a collectors edition from them because no one else is carrying it. I assume they are paying for the right to exclusivity, but they are so shit at shipping stuff it backfired and made me hate them more.

The same thing happened to me. Luckily a local location got more sealed copies in and let me exchange it.
I had fully intended to file a card chargeback if customer service refused to ship me an actual new copy though

I sent a shot across my wife's bow (not a euphemism) that I'd be interested in a Switch since she's run out of ideas for me. I suspect the price will make her hesitate, but now I'm in suspense because my birthday is in 6 weeks and she could get relatives to chip in.
Is $10 worth it for BF2 if I’m only getting it for single player?
Probably. The campaign was entertaining, and there are some solo modes against AI to give you a bit more to do.
If possible, try the multiplayer starfighter battles though. It really is a fantastic mode that I've seen convert a couple of friends who normally stay as far from online multiplayer as possible.

The best thing about a Fry's is the theme of the store. There is usually something going on even if it's just a bunch of pictures of local historical significance.
I have been in a NASA/space shuttle one, an Aztec (I think) pyramid, a turn-of-the-century science one, a 'local' one, a western/ranch one, and one that I can't find a theme at all. So maybe another 'local' one.
Shelves are generally stocked poorly, if at all. They used to take non-working returns and stick them on the shelf for resale because their return policy was so generous. It has been better for the last decade or so, but buying hardware was a sketchy proposition even for unopened merch.
And they have begun to expand their geegaw and perfume sections at the cost of BR/DVD sections. I don't even know if they sell CDs anymore (yeah, yeah, technologylol). You want to buy a nvidia 650? Still got 'em!
But for everybody who goes to Fry's as a last resort, there are dozens who make it their first stop enthusiastically. Your mileage may vary.
