Fry's definitely has a cult following: the main character of Futurama is named after the chain. I remember I was enchanted the first time I went to one in Texas.
But that was a decade ago. My last trip there last year showed it had encrappened significantly.

This thread represents my most recent experiences with Fry's: I came in looking for deals and instead I started talking shit about Fry's.
The Fry’s by me is basically Radio Shack with better 3rd party home electronics/PC hardware merged with an As Seen on TV store now. I do not understand how they stay in business.
To be fair to Fry’s, they are the best option if something in your computer dies and you can’t wait for Newegg or Amazon. (If you live local to one)
Game Deal:
Civ VI: Gold Edition is $35 for 24 hrs today (Monday 17 Dec 2018)
Edit: Chrono.gg is going back through their "Best of 2018" deals right now, so keep tabs if there's a game you are interested in that got a lot of interest earlier this year. Examples: XCOM 2, Civ VI, The Surge, Prey, etc.
My first and only experience at Fry''s was in 2004/5 when I was getting some.parts to build a pc.
It was an amazing experience. I was in love with that store and all the goodies. I nerded out there for awhile.and got a great deal on the pc parts I got.
If you have a Twitch account linked to Amazon Prime, you can order GTA V (PS4 disc, X1 disc or digital) for $14.99 (+ tax) and get $15 in Amazon credit.
It's only giving me the option of XBOne. That being said, I don't have an XBox so if anyone wants an ostensibly free digital copy of GTAV for XBox feel free to message me. (only one deal available for this I assume.)

Am I going crazy or is Amazon not selling new games themselves for as long? I went to check to see if their Persona 5 price had dropped and not only had it not, the only new copies were being sold through a third party.
I am always astounded by the price cuts decent games get these days because I grew up during the 8-bit and 16-bit days; it took years for a game to get a half-price discount.

15 bucks for FC5 seems interesting.
Everything I heard sounds like they more or less squandered the basic concept but 15 bucks is 15 bucks.

If Amazon isn't selling it and it's only available through 3rd parties, it means they've run out of stock. Usually this happens when they price match a discount elsewhere and people buy on Amazon rather than going to the brick'n'mortar location to pick it up.

Think the big issue with the FC main games (at least with me) is that they all have this "it's the journey, not the destination" mindset. Which is nice and all but if you keep making these games with endings that have no hint of good in them or at least satisfying, why should I bother playing them? I don't have to have a 'happily ever after' ending but it feels like they all end in too depressing ways.
To be more in line with the subject of this thread, why should I pay full price for a game where the best ending is simply doing nothing at the start until the secret trigger for an early credit roll triggers?

Maybe it's shit now but it was orgasmic in 2005.

According to brickseek, Walmart is selling Persona 5 for $20
Thanks. Not anywhere nearby, unfortunately.
Where do you live? The Moon?
Not in stock at my nearby Walmart. And online is $35.
My favourite sale result. Here's a thing with a great price, but only two copies and only behind the Berlin Wall. Let me guess, no rainchecks either?

It's only a little more than a year old!

Is the Gold Edition worth 24.50 if I use a coupon?
Oh god did they ever, but the game itself is absolutely gorgeous and worth playing through at that price despite.
To be more in line with the subject of this thread, why should I pay full price for a game where the best ending is simply doing nothing at the start until the secret trigger for an early credit roll triggers?
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
I mean...that isn't an either or situation to be with.
In spite of that I still really liked Mass Effect 1.
