Zagara's so damn brutal against structures if there's just a minion wave to keep her hydralisks covered. Pop two charges of hydralisk on a tower, walk away and giggle.
Unless something changes in the next ~1 hour, I'm planning on playing a lot of Heroes matches tonight. So if any of ya'll PA folk are gonna be around, hit me up for some games.
I really like Nazeebo for AFK siege because (especially if you take the +5 HP +3 mana per kill talent) he's one of the few specialists that can really hang in a fight if somebody decides to all-in him. Plus, even without demo, you can blow through so much ammo with Gidbinn'd zombies, and all your other spells can be tossed at towers from out of range if you want to throw more chip damage (but you should just blast waves instead).'
Nazeebo can take camps pretty quick with any build, but you'll take a fair amount of damage doing Knights if you aren't cautious.
Me I just played a pub game where we were losing a little bit at first and then everybody stepped up their game and we pulled a solid comeback. Also nobody spoke the whole time, it was great.
Finally had a night wide open for Heroes. Knocked out a bunch of games on Jaina finally. Up until last night I had only briefly been able to play her. Finally got a chance to experiment with some different builds last night.
Found one that I liked pretty well. Unfortunately, it isn't ideal. I've had to sacrifice a lot of burst for just an iota of survivability. But being alive to continue casting spells is better than being dead and casting no spells. So even though it isn't ideal, it works.
After having tried this build for a while, I feel like Jaina is in exactly the same boat that Illidan was up until this most recent patch. She's an assassin, but she has to sacrifice nearly all of her assassin qualities just for enough survivability to stay in the fight long enough to hit guys. Illidan is the same way. You have to take nearly every "tanky" talent, otherwise he's dead so quickly that he contributes nothing at all.
Anyway, this is what I settled on last night after mixing up a few things and trying different builds --
Doing coop to get rid of a daily because I can't be arsed with versus at the moment.
Random Zagara insisting on us knocking down every building for XP. Man, play some versus if you want XP. It's shit in coop anyway.
Actually unless you are playing very fast games in versus and winning most of them, your explanation gain is faster in co-op than versus. The standard xp rate is the same, so the only difference is the 50K experience for winning and the extra gold. Given that versus games can easily go on for twice as long, co-op works out as faster in terms of pure xp.

abathur continues to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
the +20% dmg to spikes, +33% range on spikes, and extra spike charge pump out suprising dps to the poor squishy that is jumping on the guy you just shielded and movespeed boosted..... ~
Range on spikes is nice, especially if your teammates refuse to get close enough, but you have to skip mules which help abathur out specifically, not just your team. Having safe places up front gives you better mine placement and more push for your lane.

I suspect people primarily do coop for 2 reasons: To clear quests quickly, or to level past talent gating. Those 2 things are slightly in conflict, since the first just wants the games to end fast, and the second wants you to grab all the fast XP from buildings before winning.
We still have never had a Murky week since the wipe. I mean, don't get me wrong. I hate Murky and when free Murky week happens it will be the worst thing.
But that's 500 gold from him and then I'll never play as him ever again. I want my 500 gold!
And I'm not happy about free Illidan week. He's one of the worst guys to play against as Jaina, because he's just so sticky. Even with a 65% slow you can't shake Illidan.

Even if you grab all the buildings, a coop game usually ends in 10-13 minutes so it's still pretty fast. Sometimes you can get even faster on some maps like mines but it's rare. While the tactical AI for coop bots is pretty bad, the strategic AI tends to avoid the really dumb stuff players sometimes do early on that can lead to 7 minute wins over them.

i like to clone nova and then follow nova and double ult some poor sap. the best is when my zeratul ignores me re: killing the other abathur so i clone him and go do it myself
Best thing about Nova is that you just get to go hunting. Forget pushing lanes, forget trying to grab camps, because you can't do that shit. You just look for hero portraits on the minimap and set up ambushes. It's wonderful.
Nova's pretty fun, but ever since they removed Rewind there's been a gaping hole in her kit. Rewind was SUCH a huge chunk of her power, and they straight up removed it with no compensation. No new talent to replace it or anything.
You can't burst people from 100-0 anymore (unless you have Triple Tap with max GP stacks I think), so you have to play her differently than before. She's still fun and is still good... kind of... but she's definitely less fun now without Rewind. And yeah, I totally understand that her Rewind combo was the most broken jank-ass OP thing to ever exist, but it was also fun. Weird sort of dilemma there. I also think they nerfed her too much this patch. Simply removing Rewind would've sufficed. But there was also the Snipe nerf and Anti Armor Shells nerf. Which only compounded the ripple effect of removing Rewind in the first place.
I actually think she needs a buff, again. Or.. some sort of mechanical change or something. At the very least a new talent to replace the hole Rewind left behind. Even adjustments of current talents. Just something. I dunno, I mean, Nova is a perfect showcase that the Heroes team cannot balance this game worth a damn currently. She was SUPER OP last patch, with the Snipe damage buff, the Snipe cooldown buff, the addition of Hot Shots/Anti Armor Shells... Like, it was really just way too much shit shoved onto her at once. And then the next patch, this patch, she got mega-nerfed and she can kind of do okay in Solo Queue but that's about it. Kind of just wish they'd be a bit more moderate in buffs/nerfs and not just go fucking ham with balance changes.

A ranged autocloaking assassin just seems so hard to balance.
In other news, I abathured myself a kerrigan and we double maelstormed for glory.

If you're balancing for the average player in solo queue, she's still probably too good. Her Hot Shots nerf and tiny snipe nerf were very incremental changes. Rewind removal was the only big one.
And tbh they just need to remove rewind from the game.
It just depends on your balance target. Even post-buffs good 5 mans crushed Nova because she never got a chance to set up her shit. Get exposed by Tassadar, get murdered. A hero like her cannot be balanced across all tiers, as many things rarely can.
With Nova, just take her improved cloaking talent now. The one that gives faster cooldowns while she's cloaked. Pop out, use your 3 hit combo (Snipe + Armor Piercing Auto Attack + Pinning Shot) then duck out of combat, recloak, and wait for Snipe to come off cooldown.
No you aren't killing as fast, but she's a sniper. She is supposed to take shots of opportunity. Without rewind, she is much closer to what the devs originally envisioned for her I would imagine.

"pussy nova get in the team fights stop doing nothing"
I love Nova and how unprepared some pugs are to deal with her. Valla at low health runs past broken gates to some towers. I follow and gank the shit out of her. Run out and get chased by Tyrael. Quick skirmish with a friendly Tass later and he tries to escape the exact same way. This became a recurring gag throughout the match. Stealth assassins are my favorite characters. Gonna have to save up for Zeratul next.

I'm having trouble choosing between buying Nova or Arthas so I think I'm just going to keep saving gold until I can get both at once.
People like this are so funny to me. Unless you are an actual professional gamer, if you aren't playing for fun then you are doing something wrong.

Oh well, probably just play a lot of Uther since support options this week aren't great for actual supporting.
