I thought they changed the drop rate of burdens via the chests to make it roughly on par with the vendor as far as coins spent, if you were going to farm the chests?
I know when 5.4 launched you could get way more burdens via the keys but I was under the impression the nerf made it not really worthwhile, unless you were also looking for the pet.
Worked with a friend so we both got our infusions done on the Shadowmourne questline, which left us both with a Lich King lockout. I decided to solo him on 25m Heroic because why not maybe he'll drop the mount.
Wasn't too bad actually, once I figured out that Conversion could outspeed his damage and get rid of Infest instantly. The biggest issue was not tunneling and watching for shadow traps. Even Fury of Frostmourne didn't kill me at the end, since AMS + IBF almost negated its shadow damage. No mount dropped, but I did get my first Shadowfrost Shard.

Uh, I haven't played in a year so that might have happened!
Is there anyone here who needs to do those on Alliance who ideally has a second 90 who could do them with me? I need them on my pally, but all my other alliance 90's should be good for ICC duo'ing too.

I went for the pet yesterday. I started with just under 40k coins and ended with just under 10k by the time I got the pet. During that I got around 15 armor tokens (I didn't exactly keep track and I sold a bunch of them since I don't have any mail or plate alts so I can't log in and check) and 2 Burdens. It looks like 1 burden is 50k coins, so it looks like I did pretty well then. Unfortunately both burdens spawned items that were garbage, so thanks Blizzard for making it modify the token rather than the timeless item.
Why does buying expansion packs still exist? All it seems to do anymore is be a barrier for re-entry for anyone who might consider re-subbing.
Wonder what would happen if they ever made buying expansions optional, and to play new content all you need is a sub.
Blizzard has constantly tried to get expansions to come out every 12 months because subscriptions go up when expansions come out and expansions costs money. It makes financial sense for them to have expansions.

Sure, but why even have them as "expansions" though? They're basically just large content updates, and promoted properly could get people subscribing/playing again anyway. It's not like they really *need* to do a boxed version, since the boxes are just glorified serial code delivery systems.
I guess it just came up in my mind after starting to play Rift again, who's doing a completely different model where all the game content (including expansions) is always pushed out to all the players for free...and that game doesn't require a sub at all.

the ultimate answer is 'because people will pay for it.' If enough people wanted to subscribe to rift to make it sufficiently profitable it probably wouldn't have gone F2P either
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
I have seen it's corpse far more than I have seen it
I did not know Troll Druids don't have a /dance for cat or bears
I thought they bobbed their heads and marked time with a paw or something?
Also, my troll druid in bear has a dance. He stands up and hops around.
yeah mine does not for some reason
I did /dance as a troll worked as a cat nope as a bear nope
I am only level 12 on her though so that might be part of the problem
How in the holy fuck are whole fucking raids still wiping on Durumu in LFR?
For the love of all.
Because if you are lucky you never see that phase, and if you are unlucky like a tank, a heal , and a dps can finish it off.
I'll be honest, I'm about 50/50 in LFR because I'm mostly watching tv or something
This is why my DK is only 1/20 secrets. Last time I did Durumu LFR only 5 of us made it out of the first maze. It's gotten worse.
I dunno if it's video settings, addon configuration, or the fact that I'm fucking blind, but I'm at about 2/25 for surviving his stupid maze. I just can't see the path, and the damage it does is pretty much insane. Other than that, I'm a good player, it's just a somewhat bullshit mechanic that is difficult to survive for people like me, apparently.

Did three challange modes this weekend and hit 8/9 gold. I gotta say golds are really live up to the name, we had so many frustrating failures missing times by a second or making mistakes towards the end like pulling an extra pack etc. My last one is Stormstout and that place is no joke, we tried on Saturday and I think we would have had it if the servers didn't crash.
I'd recommend some Darkwater Potions for SSB gold for after the monkey boss and after the patrolling alemental room. They aren't mentioned in any of the guides, but they saved us like 40 seconds in there, and that's a HUGE window for mistakes. We were able to recover from 2 deaths and still make gold time by 40 seconds.
Have everyone pre-pot dps potions before the big monkey room so that potions are available right after the boss.
Challenge modes were fun. I ran with a friend to help carry someone since he sells full runs. Was definitely an odd feeling to be back at ilevel 463. I'm probably going to gear up a ranged DPS in Warlords for them so I can be a part of his sales team. 25K gold for a full 9/9 Gold carry sounds like good money.
Guild is on Paragons now, but I got sat for the first time so I didn't get to see it. That's alright though, since it gets us closer to Heroic Garrosh.

I'm still waiting on my Challenge Mode sale team to be available. I'm (like many others) on an underpopulated realm so pretty much no one locally is doing full runs. There are a few people doing them on other servers but they either want real cash via Paypal (nope) or the ability to 'play your character for you' (also fucking nope). I've only found one person selling runs that 1) will do so for people on other realms and 2) accepts gold as payment. Said person is also the least expensive runner, but as such is the busiest and is difficult to schedule with. Hoping to get it done this weekend. Didn't want to have to pay for another month of sub to do this, but oh well.

Keep in mind that battle pets are account-wide, so any server you can sell pets on and make a bit of gold to pay them on their realm.
But yeah, the real-money and piloting services are definitely against the ToS and would mean a high chance of getting banned. Not worth it for some fancy armor.
Just curious but how does one carry in challange modes? I always figured it was a team so they would have to split the money but it seems like single sellers exist. So does the one guy just coach them through it?

Generally if it's a single seller then they're piloting by controlling all accounts themselves. Definitely against the ToS, but the high amount of gold they can make is appealing enough to them.

Yep. I have never survived that fight. My eyesight isn't even that bad, but there is just something about the visual acuity of that instance that I can't pick up on. I wonder if the color blind setting might help.
I just make sure I blow all my cool downs early on.

Yeah I considered that as an option but the sheer number of pets I'd have to sell to be able to make the cash to pay for this thing, not to mention the fact that the AH on Area 52 is absolutely choked with every pet I own, makes it pretty much a no-deal on my part.
It's one of the many reasons why this game needs an account-wide bank, at least for gold, like yesterday. I'd love an account-wide currency system, but that would make things far too accessible and we know how that makes some devs/players recoil in horror.
If all goes well tomorrow night some time I should hit level 90, it will be my first one.
I took a hell of a long break from the game, well two years worth, didn't even play the free year I got from Blizzard with having Diablo III and the Pandaria CE. I was entirely burnt out and tired of how the game played.
And now for some strange reason I'm loving it all over again. I'm having fun. I wish I had that free year back!
Hell for all the complaints about panda bears I'm enjoying Pandaria itself quite a bit. It's a nice looking world. Bit amazed how often the rares seem to be randomly around.
Yeah I really enjoyed Pandaria's story while levelling. It was a nice change of pace. Less "Overbearing threat to your existence, but's lets fuck around doing something else for these levels until you can get to the raids".
grats on both mounts! Friend and I resubbed this week to prep for WoD. Few days back I have an hour wait so I decide to work on Mr. Pinchy. Get one after about 15 minutes and get the pet immediately on use. Figure I still have time so I go fish in the Dalaran fountain for the last coin I need and get that too! Salty Varg all the way ;D
Well my brother and I were farming Ony but I wanted the Many whelps handle it achievement while we were farming for the mount
I am going to try the 10 man 3 drakes up one on my hunter but I think I will need a hunter or at least a spirit beast for it

Oh yeah whoops.
I prefer blowing my coins on keys. Cheap way to get burdens.
I know when 5.4 launched you could get way more burdens via the keys but I was under the impression the nerf made it not really worthwhile, unless you were also looking for the pet.

EDIT: Oh shits, MgT mount today too!
Down to just raid mounts and dungeon mounts for dungeons I can reset (I.E. run on my rogue or while I'm waiting in queues).
