Lost Photos on phone

Hi All,

My wife lost a ton of photos on her Galaxy S3 recently. We're not sure how it happened, but it's probably the last two months worth of photos. The older ones are still there.

Is there a good recovery program to use for recovering photos on a phone?

Are they on a removable SD card that you could put into your computer? If so, you could give PhotoRec a try

It might also work if it's an internal SD card that you can mount on your computer as a drive, but I've never tried it that way.

Were they set for google backup? Check her google account, look for photo albums.

Always use Google Drive or Dropbox automatic backup. I learned the hard way.

It's weird that it's just a recent amount of pictures. Nothing old... We suspect our 14 month daughter deleted them while she was playing with her phone. I'll check the google account just in case.
