I'm looking for a single Saturday pass-- am I up a creek without a paddle if I try to look on eBay (i.e. scammers or markups) or is there some other outlet/resale source I haven't thought of that would be preferable?
There are no "approved" 3rd party vendors for pax tickets. Each carries risk.

At this point your main issue is outrageous prices. In my opinion however, most of the people that sell passes at this point are legit because you would be well within paypal's refund policy if the badge would be fake or never recieved. As long as they have a receipt in the picture, I would think it would be real. As it is a Saturday pass and you are probably going to go anyways, it doesn't cost you anything unless it is real anyways, so I would say go for it. If it is fake, create a dispute for a refund. Simple as that.
Does anyone know how a game is selected to have a tournament at pax? I have been to two pax easts and one pax south and have never seen anything about how a game is selected for a tournament. Is there some sort of fan voting system that is implemented beforehand to see which games will have a tournament? I'm asking this because i have a friend going to pax east for the first time this year, who really wants to compete in diddy kong racing.
I can't go to pax buy my friend in Boston is going to go, I just send him the email with the booking ID and qr code and he can pick it up at will call right? I live in Toronto. Does anyone know?

The enforcers running the area pick the tournaments. Occasionally they do a interest thread or poll, but by now they have a pretty good feel for what people like. If they don't have one you can always talk to them about maybe setting up a small one.

Hey I bought pax tickets, and I can't go so I am giving the tickets to my friend, but I have to go to will call to pick them up and they have my name on them, how do i change the name on the ticket? Why can't i find a customer service contact number or email for pax? can anyone help?

So, I know the forum doesn't allow the selling/buying of tickets, but would it be a problem to give away tickets for free? I'm in a situation where I'd rather offer them up for free to people I kind of know than try to arrange a financial transaction with a stranger on reddit or something.
Is there a typical location that the loot/swag bags are handed out? I'm still bummed about last year because I was all over the place and never saw where they were and I kept hearing of people getting like 4 or 5 of them

Last year they set up tables in the area where the Expo queue line was set up each morning. I can't remember what time they set them out, but as with most other things you'll want to keep an eye on the official PAX twitter feed.

The general rule is still "no, please don't do that." We'd rather in general that this simply not be a place people go to do any ticket exchanges whatsoever unless we get some method for doing them in an official fashion.

Some people are selfish jerks. The enforcers try to monitor, but there is only so much they can do.
While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.

I guess part of the problem was I was by myself and my data wasn't working very well, so I couldn't keep up with a lot of the updates and stuff.
I'll try and keep a better watch for the bags this year

Unless things change from shows prior, swag bags will be handed out at the back of the Queue Room starting at 11AM.
There are loot/swag bags? I am intrigued! I'll hafta be on the look out then~
Usually have a lot of cool stuff in them. I hope they don't make the same mistake as last year with the gamer oatmeal though. It was funny, but I don't think the cleaning staff that had to clean up after us thought it was that funny.
I'll also point out if you have a 3 day badge, it's a good idea to get it on Friday. By the time Sunday rolled around they questioned if I had already got one since by then the swag bags were low. I put it off cause there was usually a line when I checked, but the line is smaller later in the day.
People went swag bag crazy the last few years because Cards Against Humanity put randomized collectable cards in them. Had the cards been exactly the same for each bag, or if Cards Against Humanity were not a swag bag sponsor, things would not have been as crazy.
Lot of cool stuff may be an overstatement. There is some cool stuff, but I would not consider it "A LOT", but certainly worth getting ONE
It seems like a lot to me cause there was a skin I believe, also cah cards, mtg learning kit. All games that I like, so some people might have only found 1 interest in the bag, but to me there was a lot of cool free stuff.
My friend is coming with me for his first PAX and was interested in competing in the SSB Brawl tournament, should it happen again this year. I haven't been able to find any info. on rules and what not to give him; does anyone happen to have a link or do rules change each year?

My first two years (2011 and 2012) had the best swag bags full of game trial discs, skins, and a myriad of free swag, as well as the booths giving out things like t-shirts and other cool swag. It seems that as years go by, the swag, both bags and booths, has become less and less impressive...

This is kind of getting off-topic so my apologies to zerzhul but the swag bags for South absolutely sucked this year so I don't have very high hopes for East.

I believe without talking to them, the answer is no, as the person who purchased the passes has to show up with ID to pick them up from will call.
But what time are the Will Call hours on Thursday March 5th?

Having worked will-call in the past, this is indeed the policy.

Around what time does OnPeak forward the reservations to the actual hotels?
