I know this isn't a discussion thread but 2 weeks is a bit... much. Some people have to travel, a long long way.
But to answer JohnBlaze's email, I'd say not yet. Maybe mid-next week if we haven't seen any formal communication as to the status of badger shipments.
Should I be worried that my badges haven't came in yet?
I was freaking out last year because people were getting theirs and I still had not received mine; it turned out that I panicked for no reason. If by February 25th you have not received your badge(s), you may start to worry and contact PAX about your pass(es). Until then, you'll just need to be patient.
While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.
I hate to be the first person to ask, but I didn't see the question yet.
Is there any word on the bathroom situation and if they are going to alter them this year as well? Did this happen at PAX South? Are we going to see more gender neutral bathrooms instead of the single one?
I know last year was a mess and if the PAX guys had it thirt way their wanted more unisex bathrooms.. Just wasn't sure if they got their wish this year or if they are going to be converting women bathrooms to men bathrooms.. again.
Gotta call OnPeak and/or the hotel in question to get that answered. You will likely be able to do it via the hotel once the reservations are fully transferred, but only they will be able to tell you for sure.
My friend is coming with me for his first PAX and was interested in competing in the SSB Brawl tournament, should it happen again this year. I haven't been able to find any info. on rules and what not to give him; does anyone happen to have a link or do rules change each year?
What I see on the schedule is that there are multiple SSB for Wii U tournaments.

For the first 3 main theater events, will it not be cleared?. Like if i want to see Rooster Teeth so i have to go for the first and 2nd event?
Each event clears the room before the next can start. If you want to attend the event directly after the event you are in, you'll have to leave the current event and get at the back of the line for the next event. Some people wait 2 hours for the big events, like Storytime or Rooster Teeth. It would be quite unfair to let people cut the line because they were in the previous event. Guess I was wrong: See whypick1's response below. I was going off of my experience with other theaters and not the Main.
This is obviously personal preference, but I usually avoid the big events because that would be 3 hours of PAX for one event. To me, I don't find it to be worth it and would rather take in a bunch of other things.
I also recommend not planning on attending two panels back-to-back. I tried that two years ago and it was stressful trying to keep up with the schedule. By mid-Day-2, I gave up and crossed off over half of the panels I had left.

Only reason i ask is last year it was not between Storytime and roosterteeth, but with the Q&A in between will the same happen between Q&A and roosterteeth?.

We traditionally have not cleared the theater between the first 3 Main Theater events due to like of time to be able to load/unload everyone.
Now, this doesn't mean you have to sit through Storytime and the Q+A to catch Rooster Teeth, so long as the theater doesn't fill up before Rooster Teeth starts you can just walk in.
Yea I was going to ask about that. Friday seems to be 2 big panels I wanna get to and I figured I'd just get there early. Lucky there's enough space in between when Magic's panel ends and Giant Bomb's begins for some food time. I figure lining up 2.5 hours minimum might be good to get a spot in those hopefully??

The line for a panel only starts when the panel preceding it has started, so you're not lining up for Giant Bomb until 7:30.

Ooo is that so? Ok cool, that kind of makes me happy to know then. I was under the impression I'd hafta spend like...3 hours just to get in a place. Cool cool. Thanks!

I think people are just getting lucky this year. Normally, I don't get my badge(s) until the week before. Mine currently say "processing", but I don't doubt they will be coming in the next week or so.
For some reason I keep thinking that last year we were able to get inside and wait in the queue line or the front lobby PA merch booth line before 10:00 AM - maybe as early as 9:00. But then I look at the BCEC building hours and they don't even open until 10:00. Am I remembering something wrong through the haze of first-PAX-excitement, or what?

In previous years the doors have opened for queing at 8 no idea about this year.
The letter that came with the badges does indicate that you may enter the building at 8:00 AM ET on all days, however you will be sent to the queue room for the expo hall or may line up at the main theatre or one of the smaller theatres until the show opens at 10 AM.
Could someone give me some advice on how Sundays go at PAX East? This is both the first time I'm going over 21 and all three days and I'm looking at train tickets back home.
Basically, does anything typically happen Sunday night after Omegathon?
Hi all; complete noob to both this forum and any convention ever, so I'm truly sorry if these are stupid/misplaced questions or I missed the answer in my searches.
Anyway, I have two questions:
1)
I'm interested in joining the Smash U tourney on Friday. I can see there are three times lots for it; a "Party" at 2, "Part 1" at 8, and "Part 2" at 10. What do the parts mean? Are there three separate tournaments at these times? Or is it one big tournament broken up into parts with the final round(s) being at 8PM? Also, is it a "bring your own controller" thing?
2)
Is there/will there be additional scheduling published for the times of the concerts on Friday night? I really only wanted to see one show. Is it even a viable option to enter/leave during the middle of that 2.5 hour block to see one show?
Does anyone have a idea when the shuttle list will come out that is the last thing we are all waiting for
If you are staying at a PAX hotel (one on the on peak site) there will be flyers and possibly a stand-up sign with shuttle information. This is how is has been done every year. They normally don't release the schedules before hand.
In some cases, like the downtown DoubleTree, you might be directed to go to a nearby hotel for pickup, because it doesn't stop directly outside your hotel.
The convention center also has this information at the bus pickup point, in case you forget which bus route you take.

Welcome home!
Generally the main hall isn't completely packed for the concerts so you can go and leave anytime without a problem.
If you want a front front row and center spot though you'll have to be there early. There is a line that starts forming early.
But if you're not that super fanatic to get some artist sweat on you, you'll be fine. There's plenty of room on the sides of the concert where a lot of folk even just sit and lay down while watching the main theatre or the two large screen displays on either side. On the sides there's a barrier you can't cross and you'll see enforcers there but it's still extremely close to the stage.
For super popular shows you might have to stand on the side since sitting might get your vision blocked but it's totally doable. You can also sit against the far walls and still see the screens very well.

Generally (but not always) the bands appear in the order listed in the schedule. You can always ask the enforcers at Main Theater day off and double check as they will have the most up to date info if there is a change.

Generally speaking the acts get 45 minutes and then there's a 15 minute turnaround. That should help you plan when to show up for what you want to see.
last year there was a list of shuttles and stuff like that about 2 and a half weeks before pax that showed what hotels will have the shuttles and what time so on so fourth just trying to figure out for sure if it will be done and what times so on so fourth prob will be like last year so guess if worse comes to worse could just use that as reference
Any advice for leaving Boston immediately after pax? Can and should I bring my bags to pax on sunday and drop them at coat/bag check or maybe at the Westin or just leave them at hotel and leave earlier to grab them ? My bus leaves at 7.
