Hrmm, apparently Amazon's old 2k coupons are still active. I own most 2k games now, and I'm not sure how many coupons total I still have (at least 1) so if anyone wants a 2k game from the Amazon sale, I can get it for 5 bucks cheaper (well, I have taxes in AZ, so mostly 5 bucks cheaper). NBA2k14 for instance, is just 1.08.
Might be worth double checking to see if you have yours still.
Hahaha, I remember those coupons.
Amazon screwed up and sent me like twenty of them, and when I emailed them they basically told me "We screwed up, keep them", so I burned through them by having forumers send me Amazon giftcards via email, then buying the games with my coupons, then sending them back the codes. I think the most popular buy was the $10 XBL bundle of games that came to Steam.
I'm pretty sure I used them all by doing this, but I'll have to double check.
How do you check?
I think the Check Balance link here should show if you have any credits, though it won't say specifically if it is a 2k credit. However, if you have a multiple of $5, it probably is.
Trepidation about my new computer was justified this morning when it refused to get past "Starting Windows" upon booting. Repair rebooted into the same situation multiple times, then indicated that it was unable to repair this installation of Windows 7. Unplugged everything but the keyboard and mouse, and it finally booted. I am not confident. Will try plugging back in each peripheral device individually with a reboot in between to see what may be causing the problem, but this does not bode well for my 'call in sick to play games all day on my new computer' plan for the day...
Why the shit do I suddenly need a Saints take over Hell game now?
It was just mentioned and now I need it.
Extra points if they make it an isometric loot crawler; or at least make some of the bonus/challenge missions Diablo-like.
Which reminds me, I'd like them to expand on this part of SR4 and maybe make it a stand alone.
I'd like to know what went in to converting the custom characters over to that.
Hate to spoil it for you but
Most likely all the characters are 3D assets, just with custom 2D-brawler animations and a filter/shader/whatever-you-call-it applied over them to make them appear as pixel-animated.
So...finally started up Season One of Walking Dead. It's...interesting, not unenjoyable, though after having gotten used to games where the character doesn't move like a sloth on laudanum have spoiled me a bit.
Still and all (having just finished the first episode), if i ever find myself in charge of a plucky (if cantankerous) band of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world, the phrase "i think it's going to be alright (or any variation thereof) will be a hangable offense.
Ha, that is an excellent turn of phrase. I'm playing The Wolf Among Us now, and it's got the same pokey protagonist problem. It takes some of the urgency out of investigating a fresh crime scene when the character is shuffling around like an extra from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
So what you guys are telling me is that I should hold out for a Saints Row sale pending tonight's announcement? Cuz I'm dying to play 3 and 4, hearing how awesome they are and having never played a Saints Row game (I was in the "looks like low-rent GTA" camp when it first came out).

I'm not going, but I just saw on Twitch's site that they're going to be showing gameplay from The Binding of Isaac Rebirth at 11 AM PDT. Looking forward to that.

Yeah, I don't have any SR games, so that's why I want to start with 3. I heard they tie together nicely, so I'll go that route. Actually, Saints Row the Third: The Full Package is on sale on Amazon right now for $9.99. Sounds good to me!
Saints Row 2 is still my favorite, it's a little clunky now but it's still totally worth a playthrough. The pc port is junk but Gentlemen of the Row helps. I like it more because the boss is genuinely a despicable character.
The Saint's Row series is pretty much my favourite set of games from the last generation, which always impresses me considering that the franchise started as little more than a GTA knock-off.
if you didn't like Grid 2 I'd say don't bother with Autosport, everything I've read suggests it's pretty much the same game with cockpit view added
plus you already have Assetto Corsa, we should have a race on Monza 66
I didn't hate Grid 2, it just didn't really grab me like I thought it would. I'll wait for a cheaper sale like next summer or something when it's at impulse-buy levels.
We should grab a couple of others, have a proper race on Monza '66. I'm thinking Lotus 98Ts. Or the Type 49 for them GPL feels.
If you guys are ever online after 9PM MDT (UTC -6h), you could count me in. Wife and kids, so that time is pretty much set in stone.

According to a trailer that debuted at PAX Prime today, the Saints are sucked into Hell via ouija board and battle demons. The game features online co-op for two players. The game's version of Hell will be about half the size of Saints Row 4's Steel Port.

Tell me when SR3 lets me run at super speed up a building, super jump off, glide across half the city, free fall onto the target, and then pop one enemy with a splodey ball and watch him chain reaction everything else in one big boom.

Problems resolved! Looks to be a fault in a USB3 external drive, working fine now without it. Also, holy shit, that Saint's Row news?!? Gonna play me some SR:IV after I have me some lunch. That's one I haven't yet tried on this new machine, I bet it's pretty and fast.

It's a tricky car in every game I've ever tried it in. And AC is the trickiest driving game I've played since GPL. So yeah, I feel ya. It's a bit of a challenge.
I think I'm going to change my favorite car in the game, as awesome as the 98T is. I love the Formula Abarth more. Yeah, it's not the fastest. But it's so much fun. Especially on the Nordschleife (mod track; ported from rFactor by a guy called Snoopy, and it's great).

I think Assetto Corsa drives rather tame compared to rFactor 2 and iracing. Just gotta deal with a whole lot of understeer, and some of the curbs (but not all for some reason) act like they are covered in oil. I prefer rF2 and iracing personally, but am happy to drive AC with others.
Is Rise of Nation: Extended Edition worth $9.99? I keep waffling on buying it or not. I played it back in the day, and loved it, but is it just the game ported with steam features or has more of it been upgraded?

I've not tried rFactor 1 or 2, or iRacing. I know, I know, I'm missing out.
Still considering this. I'm interested, but have no frame of reference for such an apparently realistic military game.

Ask yourself: do I want to play a "shooter" where nearly every single key on the keyboard is, without exaggeration, bound to a function? It's essentially the DCS of first person shooters, with the slog to boot. It's coarse, arcane, and absolute unapologetic about itself.
That said, if you're willing to struggle through that learning curve (and are in a group with some homies playing pretend soldier -- there's a thread somewhere here where games are sometime setup), it can be a pretty compelling experience.

I knew it'd be interesting when I read that it has nine stances for infantry. I think the most I've ever played before is three (standing, crouching, prone). That immediately made me realise that I wouldn't be in Kansas any more.
I think I've only played one Bohemia game before, and that was Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, which I'd anticipated greatly as a big fan of the original Carrier Command from 1988. Gaea Mission is notoriously janky and has ground-unit AI that could charitably be called "game-breaking", but it had a great deal of heart; it was clearly made as a labor of love, and it looked absolutely great. I enjoyed it greatly despite itself, enough to buy it again on Steam when it eventually went on sale (I had it on 360 at launch). But it's so different from what Arma appears to be that I couldn't really use it as a frame of reference, although PC Gamer's Arma III review mentions similar flaws such as ropey AI. Arma seems more multiplayer-focused, though (Carrier Command was SP-only).
I also find the idea of Arma III: Karts hilarious and would be all over that shit just because.

Ha, that is an excellent turn of phrase. I'm playing The Wolf Among Us now, and it's got the same pokey protagonist problem. It takes some of the urgency out of investigating a fresh crime scene when the character is shuffling around like an extra from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

that should be 1AM here, usually I'm in bed by then but my wife is away tomorrow night so I'll probably be up a little later. I can't guarantee I'll be sober enough to drive straight

Tell me when SR3 lets me run at super speed up a building, super jump off, glide across half the city, free fall onto the target, and then pop one enemy with a splodey ball and watch him chain reaction everything else in one big boom.
But if I have to get vehicles then no deal.
When I said I'd sell my soul for more Saints Row, I don't think I expected it to be taken seriously.
I just tried the merc, I can't drive it at all! the back end just loves coming out
Buying just a single copy instead of the four pack of Lethal League seemed like leaving free money on the table. That logic makes sense, right?

CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

I may go out and purchase a headset just for this.
Just.
For.
This.
So you guys can listen to me mouth breathe.
I thought it was a full-fledged Saints Row 5 but according to this article, it's an expansion for SR4. (EDIT: a standalone expansion)

I don't think that's right. That would put you in Greenland or Brazil.

The price suits it too. $20. Hell is apparently half the size of SR4's Steelport.

I've not tried rFactor 1 or 2, or iRacing. I know, I know, I'm missing out.

I love SR4, but it basically stole its movement system from Prototype
I wish someone would make a Prototype 3 : (
