Rare is not Bungie.
Bungie has been ahead of their time so much on so many things. So, so, so many things that are now verboten in good games.
I would do a TED talk on how great Myth II multiplayer was, the ranking system and the community.

diablo on pc just added seasons which has reignited my interest. I was gonna go back to path of exile but this is some great d3 news.
decided to play hardcore for the first time in d
it's funny being aware of the silly little things that make me want to play a given game. playing hardcore somehow lends it all something more worthwhile, instead of just an endless grind for loot that helps you grind faster. it feels more like a game with tangible goals. the seasons (like ladders in d2 or leagues in poe) also do this, I suppose by containing everything in a set period of time.

I'm browsing through Taisho-era modern girl/flapper fashion pictures
It's such an interesting region of fashion, there's like simultaneous pushes towards xenophobic and/or paternalistic traditionalism, feminists pushing towards looser and gender-neutral clothing as a symbol of political and social independence, nationalistic pushing towards westernization and modernization, and a burgeoning youth movement just pushing for lower-cut dresses and partying. Not even the conservative or liberals can agree with themselves over what's acceptable, and so you get this wild mishmash of subtle differentiations between western and eastern. Plus then a lot of the "western" clothing is still incorporating elements of Japanese fashion, or because it's designed by eastern tailors who are only basing their designs on a drawing of the real thing it ends up looking off, western clothes made with eastern materials and techniques. It's really cool.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
Are you posting from a laptop or an internet cafe, nar?

Mmm, maybe it's my American innate distrust of others but keep it in a public locker at night when you're not using it. Wouldn't want a mugger to get you.

Also BeN would be a great abbreviation if my name were Ben
It is not!
However, Nar IS the first 3 letters of my last name
The next letter is also an r, so you may feel free to double it up

It sleeps under my shirt, and even in a shelter (as in Vancouver) I generally take to sleeping on top of all of my stuff :P
toronto is the worst city i have ever been to in terms of the general public's treatment of homeless people
sour note to an overall very pleasant visit
Eh, it's a toss up, based on personal experience
Both Vancouver and Toronto have a real homelessness problem, so police / security are really on our asses
But in Vancouver the area with the shelters felt a fair deal more ghetto-ized, if I may use a word with such horrendous historical significance
Though the general homeless population was a great deal more pleasant on the West Coast
i got into a near fight with some people who remonstrated with me for having a conversation with a homeless guy
one of them told me to "fuck off and go talk to bums back home"
to which i said "i will!"
it was a weird night, my friend fell in love with a lass working in a mr sub
but i think he may have assumed their hypothetical relationship would just be her making him very big sandwiches, subway hadn't made it to the UK yet so we were all very impressed

Nuh uh, weekend nights are particularly busy for them and I'm not nearly crazy enough
I do have proper shelter options, and more permanent shelter coming within the next 5 days
Long weekend was a bad time to go homeless, that's all
All the beurocrats are off, and now one can fill out the requisite forms!

You go to hospital and be safe.
Method acting.
Nah, it's a long, mostly boring story, and I possess the necessary mental faculties and government-issued ID to resolve the situation fairly quickly.
No beds for us pacifists!
But big post earlier, good things happening, all is well.
