in some ways I am happy to be a fan of a floundering program that will never break into the upper echelon of its conference, much less college football in general

any success is a great thing, I can't even imagine how you get to a point where your fanbase goes "well THIS type of success is clearly less important than THIS type of success so why should we even bother trying to pursue it?"

    what a dumb, toxic mindset

Besides, we all know what the appropriate response to that Munkus post would have been:

If you can't get motivated to take on a coach that calls your team and your conference overrated all season I don't know what the hell to tell you. Munkus can blame the system for his team's performance all he wants but every other team that gave its all and wasn't in the NGC didn't seem to share the same problem.

Oh God, there's already a commercial for the playoff. ESPN is going to be insufferable about this, aren't they?

Well I think there may have been some trepidation in wanting to play for the Browns.

Rumors were floating that Michigan was going to go after Josh Heupel from OU. If you'd asked OU fans their opinion 8 days ago, we'd probably have had his bags packed before you finished the first sentence. Now, however, the tables seem to have turned.

Our OC isn't exactly our selling point.

Our strength coaches for the OL and the RB coaches are more important.

Idaho is such a sad program.

If they would just move back down to FCS level and play in the Big Sky, they could probably be competitive year-to-year.

But they keep chasing that FBS money, just hoping that somehow they can get back to a bowl and it'll all be worth it.

There aren't many programs that really need to drop to FCS, but Idaho is one of them.

Not really. They're better than Kansas both currently and historically. That's just among BCS AQ teams.

Colorado was an improved team this year, and I wouldn't be shocked to see them in a bowl game in a few years.

My school has been out of FCS play...2 years?

Regardless, we were bowl eligible through wins but not attendance lol!

My school moves up this coming season. But we got rid of our coach before this past season because he didn't want to move up. So now we'll have a second year coach AND we'll be playing tougher schools. Except I think Idaho is joining the conference we're joining but in football only so we can hopefully beat up on them. Also the coach of our rival team who is moving up with us just took the job at Army, so we'll have someone to suck with.

To be fair, Kiffen is likely a fine OC. Just a terrible HC.

  • enlightenedbumenlightenedbum Registered User regular
Sarkisian was the brains of the outfit, as far as I can tell. Kiffin is a good recruiter, but pisses off everyone who comes into contact with him and leaves a trail of NCAA violations in his wake. Must be a hell of an interview though.
