    What?

People kill each other over adultery. Ridiculous. You'd think this would be one of those Hollywood caricatures of the human condition, but here we are with our stupid faces

Man, people kill each other over corndogs so adultery as a motive doesn't seem entirely shocking, sadly.

Outing an abuser shouldn't be policed, even if the outing puts the abuser in a negative situation. the victim has a right to talk about it with whoever they need to.

I don't think it matters if it's emotional or sexual abuse either. Gaslighting is a fucking vicious thing to do to a person who loves you. It's even worse for the victim when the abuser is a well-known Good Person who happens to be a skilled manipulator

but I really can't believe Eron Gjoni's true goal was to out his abuser anymore. I think he just wanted to drag her reputation through the mud.

Are you implying that somehow Zoe was an abuser in this relationship?

I went through the gagging process of reading this junk bag's piece of shit blog, and while I sympathize with the pain of being in a shitty relationship, this guy was never the victim. His attitudes towards his audience and his actions after the end of his relationship are the aggrieved posings of the entitled and the passive aggressive.

To this I quote for you a passage by Anton Chekov, the original author of "I don't want to live on this planet anymore"
For fifteen years I have been intently studying earthly life. It is true I have not seen the earth nor men, but in your books I have drunk fragrant wine, I have sung songs, I have hunted stags and wild boars in the forests, have loved women ... Beauties as ethereal as clouds, created by the magic of your poets and geniuses, have visited me at night, and have whispered in my ears wonderful tales that have set my brain in a whirl. In your books I have climbed to the peaks of Elburz and Mont Blanc, and from there I have seen the sun rise and have watched it at evening flood the sky, the ocean, and the mountain-tops with gold and crimson. I have watched from there the lightning flashing over my head and cleaving the storm-clouds. I have seen green forests, fields, rivers, lakes, towns. I have heard the singing of the sirens, and the strains of the shepherds' pipes; I have touched the wings of comely devils who flew down to converse with me of God ... In your books I have flung myself into the bottomless pit, performed miracles, slain, burned towns, preached new religions, conquered whole kingdoms ...

Your books have given me wisdom. All that the unresting thought of man has created in the ages is compressed into a small compass in my brain. I know that I am wiser than all of you.

And I despise your books, I despise wisdom and the blessings of this world. It is all worthless, fleeting, illusory, and deceptive, like a mirage. You may be proud, wise, and fine, but death will wipe you off the face of the earth as though you were no more than mice burrowing under the floor, and your posterity, your history, your immortal geniuses will burn or freeze together with the earthly globe.

You have lost your reason and taken the wrong path. You have taken lies for truth, and hideousness for beauty. You would marvel if, owing to strange events of some sorts, frogs and lizards suddenly grew on apple and orange trees instead of fruit, or if roses began to smell like a sweating horse; so I marvel at you who exchange heaven for earth. I don't want to understand you.

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Whenever there is an urge to use the word misandry without irony, I encourage one to instead try to shove a banana into their ear. Don't stop until you've really explored every option. The end result is less embarrassing than giving merit to that nonsense word, and you have access to tasty fruit.

It's cover language that only came into existence because accusing women of being man-haters became too laughable.

Every instance of emotional abuse I've seen has a element of fear to it. Fear that if you leave this person something bad will happen to you or them. Because that's how abuse works. Abuse is a form of terrorizing someone and trapping them. Isolating them.

Fear that your husband will hunt you down if you leave them.

Fear that your wife will get full custody of your children.

Fear that your girlfriend will cut herself or worse if you leave her.

Fear that you will be left alone forever because you're just that worthless and this person is the only person who can or will ever love you.

Fear that all your dirty little secrets will be exposed to those you love if you leave, that you will be shamed for who you are.

As far as I've seen Zoe is the one who was being abused, and this whole damned thing started because her abuser made good on his emotionally abusive threats.

Maybe I'm wrong on this and I don't understand emotional abuse the way I think I do, but even if the relationship was abusive to this guy, it was at least a mutually abusive relationship.

However the whole thing with abuse is it's used to trap someone in something bad for them. Its not just a matter of being mean or uncaring, it's making someone feel their only worth comes from the abuser.

This wasn't as much a statement about misandry as it was a reprimand for Langly's irresponsible abuse of his global weather powers

But I believe that misandry exists, just not as an external movement. Men have an impressive capacity for self-hatred that outwardly manifests in a variety of interesting ways, which tends to happen in a group that never works out its feelings with an invested group of friends or an experienced care provider.

Think hard of the world of games that men have created. Which is greater - the number of and participation in games that actively predate on the human psyche and create a punishing, joyless past-time rife with masochism, or the games that help you appreciate life and improve as a person?

I'm still not sure what the point you're trying to make here is.

We have a disproportionate response in regard to cheating. It causes emotional, physical, and psychological damage far in excess of what it should, and so it comes to no surprise that me that people conflate it with sex crimes, if only for the fact that it often results in consequences that are as severe. Because people have genitals for brains

Of course, much of that damage is caused not by the initial insult but by the mishandled exponentially amplified retaliation that eclipses the initial act pretty much immediately.

I do believe that a lot of this would have been exposed and calmed down at least a week ago if a lot of professional journalists decided to do their jobs, investigate and not jump in to fan the flames over Twitter.

Zoe should not have had to endure this and she shouldn't have had to shovel people out of the dirt either.

The worse thing to come out of all of this is now its going to help justify all the absolutely horrible extremists on every side of every spectrum to start spewing over this industry as a new playground.

The people in IRC are basically just groupies. The raids tend to have ten to twenty core members who push information and do the leg work. They tend to group into a temp mumble server or a Skype group chat ran off a VPN drop bot or similar. A lot of the time it's the same people. Sometimes not. That's the group who splinter off into doing stupid things like the sec/squad stuff.

Basically the ones who really deserve some tasty jail time. That rarely seems to be the case though.

So yes, I mean, the IRC people are awful but it'd be nice if they could get some of the people that

Sure, there might be some smaller group of people coordinating it, but every last person who chooses to participate in it is also scum because they still want in on it. The whole thing's going on on this kind of a scale because of people like them as much as it is because of the people who fire them up.

FBI have caught these types of folk before. I wouldn't be surprised if they catch some of the bigger fish here.
It really doesn't appear to be the work of professionals.

Hi guys here is a quick tip, "misandry" is so insignificant if a thing that it might as well not exist. If you are making posts about misandry you might as well be talking about Santa Claus.

The ratio to a legitimate misandrist movement to the indoctrination of misogyny in this world could be compared to a raindrop versus an ocean

Right when I read this post a huge squall fell on me at the park

    ...Whatever

I actually think this was a FF8 joke. I was trying to think of one as well but didn't get much beyond perhaps posting a large picture of Squall before I lost interest and got lunch.

I was worried that someone would beat me to it.

Sorry, I've blocked everything FF8 out of my head after beating the game when it came out on PC ... on 1/6 clock speed since that's how they compensated for poor graphics cards those days

Marty: The future, it's where you're going?
Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.

Also to inject some humor into the thread, I found two of my favorite "NotYourShield" smurf accounts (preserved in screenshot form with the source of the image clearly marked):

    *snip*

I wish I had screenshotted some of the ones that came after me when I sent a tweet to gamergate, but I didn't think to do so at the time and they've been scrubbed from the internet now.

You expected any less from people who, when they couldn't find a female spokesperson for their cause, made one up?

I say we handle all of these things so terribly that the molehills eventually reach the same heights as the mountains

    What?

People kill each other over adultery. Ridiculous. You'd think this would be one of those Hollywood caricatures of the human condition, but here we are with our stupid faces

So what you're saying is, cheating STILL doesn't cause that kind of damage, the cheated-on partner being a shitty, unstable fucking sociopath causes it.

Stop saying cheating is equatable to these crimes. Full stop. It is not an on-topic discussion for this thread and it is furthermore a terrible thing to say.

The next time I see someone say something like this I'm throwing out cards.

And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

Hey guys, given the large images and the significant number of them being posted, when you're replying to someone who has posted those images, please snip them from your quoting and only quote the text. It's really painful to scroll this thread on mobile.

I hope if that does happen we hear about it. I keep wondering if they ever managed to track down and convict these folks. Or the swatting stuff etc.
Need to hear a lot more about the people caught and punished. Get some scared straight talk going.

Whenever I hear the term misandry, I have an involuntary nose wrinkle reaction. Not because I don't think there are cases where men get the short end of the stick (see family courts in America), but those things pale in comparison to the level of harassment and institutional bullshit that women get. Yeah, we should fix those things, but there is this thing in life called perspective, and anyone using misandry non-ironically has none. It's the worst, most base kind of false equivalency.

also stuff like bias against men in family courts happens because of the patriarchy

it's not feminists doing that, it's people who think men and women should have clearly-defined gender roles
