Sorry it took me all day to update the thread title. I'm out at work and while I am working the shipyard and do have phone signal all day, I don't like trying to edit stuff on it.
The trick to Sim takeoff is to not hammer the throttle like you would in AB/RB. Get the plane moving, apply rudder, gradually increase throttle. And if you want to show off, you trim the aircraft to counter the engine torgue on its own.
I don't have head tracking, so I don't touch Air sim battles.

I disagree with that assessment. The free RP boosters you get last multiple rounds, so while you won't have as big of a reward if you do really what would have been your 2x win, you also don't have to worry about your 2x win being wasted on a shitty round.
I logged in and got a +30% research booster that lasts for 5 battles, this morning.
I'm slowly getting better at flying in sim. I'm able to take off every time now (thanks for the earlier tips) and I even managed a air to ground kill.
I still end up taking myself out crashing while trying to shoot something or just falling from the sky though...
I did my kill-10-things-in-a-attacker in the A-20 (US tier 2). I also got screwed out of the Champion of <whatever> where you had to be number 1 on the winning team. That was pretty hard for me and I didn't get credit. Also, tanks were crashing on me pretty reliably, so I knew I wasn't going to finish the shoot-mans-down achieve or finish the tank kills one (although I did get 4, which was new and exciting).
I was having a blast during the German v AAA event.
Scope sight for aircraft being not transparent on minimal graphics setting fixed.
“Shaking” of aircraft when spawning on a carrier fixed
Spectator view after “death” fixed.
Dust/mud/earth colour on vehicles changed.
crew members animation when they are knocked out in the vehicles with open turrets fixed. (except for Ostwind, Wirbelwind, ZIS-30, M19, M42).
М13/М15/М16 Damage model fixed. It cannot be destroyed by simply damaging armour with AP ammo.
М46 ”Tiger” temporarily removed from the shop for BR adjustment
М26Е1 artillery module added.
T32 received APCR ammo (T44 type)
Behind armour effect of APCR T44 shells, APCBC T43 shell and APCR 10,5cm Pz.Gr 40 was increased
Decals of Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian Airforces moved from “Axis” category to “Neutral”.
Battle trophies removed temporarily from the game for improvement.
System that blocked battle rewards after teamkilling is temporarily removed for improvement
“Big” daily bonuses will be awarded on every 6th and 13th day instead of 7th and 14th

The RP booster I got was 10% for everyone ELSE in the battle for one match.

One the second, in one of my combined arms matches over the weekend, someone shot my window frame on the M15 with, I guess, an AP round, Like, literally, the only thing it contacted was the extreme top-right corner, and then it went off into nowhere. It didn't actually touch anything else in the vehicle, but I was killed.
I should really set up a voice attack profile while I'm playing this so I'm not fumbling around for the air brakes and accidentally hitting gear or flaps or trying to find the button I made for the binoculars
I need to actually get a mic setup for proper teamplay in this one of these days. (And a joystick, but not quite brave enough for that rabbithole yet...)
Hmm... this game has been losing me steadily with some pretty brain-dead balancing. The new log-in rewards sure do remove any incentive I had to at least log in each day. Should have kept the 2x for each win and done some less significant log in bonuses.
I just... I just don't enjoy this game much anymore. It shouldn't take so long to find a tier 2 tank match as a US tank with all servers selected anymore.
The only thing I want to play is a T-54 but that would take years to get it with shitty T-34s. Things are amazing in the t-34 until tier 3. Then you get the 57, which shoots a laser, which is nice, but it does no damage and still doesn't always penetrate. Or you have the 85mm T-34, which does good damage, but is a huge glass cannon. T-34-57 is overtiered like woah. And so is the 105 sherman still, even at 4.3.
So the two things I want, jumbo 76mm sherman and T-54, are locked behind and infinite sea of un-fun bullshit.

I think most of them, especially those for fewer logins, tend to be much lower and even less long-lasting. But the one I got was 10% for 1 battle for me and allies.
Let's see: 2x for 5 wins or 1.1x for 1 battle. Yeah, that is a magnificent improvement. I would literally need 50 people on my team to make up the difference in global research points (across all players). This may be to the player's benefit if you happen to keep getting people using the 1.1x bonus (the stacking is apparently B1 + B2 * 0.6 + B3 * 0.4 + B4 * 0.2 + BN * 0.1, which means a massive 23% bonus if 5 people you're playing with happen to have the shared 10% bonus).
The one I got today is 1.3x for 5 battles (just for me), which is a bit better (...for me). That at least lets me focus a nation more than the old system (because honestly, I'd really only play every nation consistently sometimes on weekends). That's still obviously worse than 2x for each nation, but at least has some utility. Unless I have crap teams 5 times in a row.
This is basically the definition of dicking over your players, just like the tree rearrangement so people could "focus on planes they want" (which they then totally killed by forcing you to have 6 vehicles in a tier before going to the next).
The other problem is they're only good for 3 days, so you can't even really hoard them until you want to play like a bunch of people say you can to offset the difference.
I finally upgraded to 1.47. Only played airplanes, because of my recent bad experiences with tanks (crashing of the game)
I did hilariously bad with (tier 2) USA. Decent with (tier 2) Germany. Excellent with (tier 1) Russia. Bad with (tier 2) Britian. Decent with (tier 1) Japan.

War Thunder game modes are constantly evolving, while offering players an interesting mix of missions, maps, vehicles and diversity of controls options. Today we going to discuss the changes that will occur in the Simulator and Realistic modes. The combined battle bonus challenges, which were popular with the players, will now be available to you at any time. In realistic ground forces battles we will turn off markers that display opposing players, and in simulator air battles we will disable the interface, and will also introduce a daily nation change. But first things first!
Simulator Battles
The first change you will notice will be the moving of the SB mode option. Now they will be available in a new section "Simulator Battles", which will be near the "Events" and will hold regular air and ground forces simulator battles, as well as an increased amount of simultaneously run special events and you will be able to choose freely between modes and settings that are of interest to you. Beyond that, we will also be implementing a number changes in the modes themselves:
Aviation
In simulator air battles we will enable an automatic system that switches nations and locations participating in battle, this will be enabled at 11:00 GMT.
A daily change of nations, as well as a shift of nations that are available for certain days of the week, will allow players to test their skills against opponents in various war theatres. Below we provide an example of how the system may work (the final version may differ from one shown):

Furthermore, you will need to learn the position of instruments in the cockpits of your aircraft, as we plan to disable the HUD indicators for aircraft with a modelled cockpit. Now a player has to keep track of his speed, altitude, engine temperature, fuel amount and ammunition count (if the aircraft is equipped with the necessary indicator) himself. Do not forget, it is now possible to turn on the lights in the cockpit (in aircraft fitted with them). Pilots of aircraft without modelled cockpit at the moment, will be able to keep track of important indicators on the interface, just as before.
Ground Forces
The test of absolute simulator battles has created a huge interest among the War Thunder players - no markers and different combinations of available vehicles and locations allowed players to try themselves in the most difficult conditions. Many of you have asked for implementation of it on a regular basis, and that is exactly what we are doing, as this mode will now replace the standard simulator battles. You will have several options of switchable scenarios for the mode with different vehicle sets available in them. Choose the right option for you! Do not forget that markers in this mode are off - use binoculars to determine whether it’s the enemy or an ally on the horizon.
Ground Forces RB
We are making changes in realistic ground forces battles as well. It will offer you the usual battles, but the markers on opponents will be disabled. You'll still be able to see markers over your allies in this mode, and the usual mechanics of the RB mode will apply.
Events
We will increase the number of simultaneously active events for all three modes. SB events will be located in the SB section and other events will be located in the Events tab, which is already familiar to you.
The changes are planned to be implemented within the next week. Please leave your feedback on our forums!
Oooooh, no markers for realistic battles! This means I'll actually be able to have fun playing tanks and actually be able to fly a plane when I get the opportunity!

Nah, the best part is that you can actually dodge into clouds when someone is on your tail and break off in a random direction, and not have the giant red box following you around, pointing out which way you're going.
I think they're just removing markers for tanks only. I kinda wish they would remove markers for Air RB, but that's a pipe dream. And it would make finding wannabe American astronauts impossible.
But if they do remove ALL markers for combined arms maps, flaring targets with tank shells can become a thing outside of simulator.
This thing is 100% objective garbage. Shelving it. I'll pop into the jet tier when I have the later, better, Jets. But first, I have a bunch of Griffon Spitfires I need unlocking.

In my defense, I reliably get the plane back on the ground every sim match, often within moments of starting.
I don't have anything that qualifies besides the M13

They're not gone entirely. There are research bonuses you can get from the log in bonus that last multiple rounds. Even ones that aid all allies.
Aren't those all convertible? The login booster I just got is a ten-round booster for those alone, and it looked like all the others were as well...

The only thing I want to play is a T-54 but that would take years to get it with shitty T-34s. Things are amazing in the t-34 until tier 3.
